Actually now we're even better, saying our support is made by humans make our clients go crazy, we can even charge more

Yeah, my point is AI isn't taking support jobs, at least yet, I struggled to get clients willing to pay values around 50k/month, now we're marketing having "humanized support" and charging more, for the same service, which let's us pass more to our agents, making them stay longer instead of taking it as a transition position, same goes for translations (especially pharmaceutical translations)

I'm in the industry for over ten years, trust me, it isn't going away that easy, not before people learn to communicate in a way the AI can understand

LLMs struggle with shit like Kanji, but Chinese also has Hanzi, so Japanese will be figured out by proxy when the Chinese figure it out (which is very soon, they have tons of money and researchers)
even if LLMs somehow struggle with it, we already have traditional CNNs that are god tier at Japanese, namely DeepL.

Imagine just training a model entirely in Japanese, giving your normal model's translation to it and asking if that made sense or missed anything. Then it could sperg out about the intricacies of how some word would be better represented by a whole phrase to cater to pedophilia better, and your normal model can now confidently discard that advice now knowing that the translation was good.

AI is not going to eliminate many entire fields, what it will do is replace 80% of the staff. You'll keep the top 20% in a field who will review/correct/edit the work of the AI. That is a massive efficiency improvement, jobs are replaced, but an entire job title usually won't be.

Translation is really good now (except between eastern and western languages).
Technically thougheverbeit, real time translation is impossible, you have to wait until the end of the train of thought to get a good translation.

Now each individual camera can detect people entering controlled perimeters and raise alerts, read the license plates off vehicles coming and going, parameterize human faces live in the video and compare against a list of "flagged persons," and do post-mortem analysis of video to capture footage related to incidents (e.g. "find the time in the video with the sound of glass breaking.")
