Yeah, my point is AI isn't taking support jobs, at least yet, I struggled to get clients willing to pay values around 50k/month, now we're marketing having "humanized support" and charging more, for the same service, which let's us pass more to our agents, making them stay longer instead of taking it as a transition position, same goes for translations (especially pharmaceutical translations)
I'm in the industry for over ten years, trust me, it isn't going away that easy, not before people learn to communicate in a way the AI can understand

translator. Not entirely, but it's a much narrower field now. When Meta figures out real-time translation it'll be 100% over.
Resume coach. Even GPT-3.5 is good enough for that shit

LLMs struggle with shit like Kanji, but Chinese also has Hanzi, so Japanese will be figured out by proxy when the Chinese figure it out (which is very soon, they have tons of money and researchers)
even if LLMs somehow struggle with it, we already have traditional CNNs that are god tier at Japanese, namely DeepL.
Imagine just training a model entirely in Japanese, giving your normal model's translation to it and asking if that made sense or missed anything. Then it could sperg out about the intricacies of how some word would be better represented by a whole phrase to cater to pedophilia better, and your normal model can now confidently discard that advice now knowing that the translation was good.
sad how trannies stupidly did something smart
trying to teach AI the ways of offended morons completely ruins the AI's usefulness

I'm pretty sure it can. Are you judging the entirety of "AI" based on your shitty prompts using a free model?
yeah because AI is gonna clean your infected wound you fricking moron
diagnoses are gonna be automated for sure and finally drive doctors to become actual researching doctors instead of technical parrots, but you're fricking stupid if you think basic shit like stopping bleeding or taking blood samples is gonna be fully automated in our lifetimes
AI is not going to eliminate many entire fields, what it will do is replace 80% of the staff. You'll keep the top 20% in a field who will review/correct/edit the work of the AI. That is a massive efficiency improvement, jobs are replaced, but an entire job title usually won't be.
Seriously, though, how long do you think that will take? People nowadays get pissy when foreigners take all the jobs, you think people will just lay down for that?
Speech recognition is really good now.
Translation is really good now (except between eastern and western languages).
Technically thougheverbeit, real time translation is impossible, you have to wait until the end of the train of thought to get a good translation.
Any sort of basic coding can be done by AI. All those people who went to college for compsci will be working retail and fast food soon, and as AI advances it will replace desk jobs as well.
They're keeping humans for certain things like being the face of the store and I think final packaging. They probably also deliver the food from the truck and place it in the location that the bots will pull it out of
The people who sit in a room staring at closed circuit TV monitors, for the most part.
Now each individual camera can detect people entering controlled perimeters and raise alerts, read the license plates off vehicles coming and going, parameterize human faces live in the video and compare against a list of "flagged persons," and do post-mortem analysis of video to capture footage related to incidents (e.g. "find the time in the video with the sound of glass breaking.")

Actually now we're even better, saying our support is made by humans make our clients go crazy, we can even charge more
I wasn't saying we were worse off, just answering OP's question

AI is already much better than libtard activist translators.
Billions of localizers must die
Localization and translation are two different jobs.
Localization people will probably stick around. It seems difficult to teach a robot that.
