Reminder that China and India lead the world in yearly paper retractions. Arxiv for people/groups you trust or getting ideas related to a topic, and published stuff + heavily applied scrutiny otherwise. Generally, anything unpublished and/or from literally-who sources is a waste of time.
You should also take every research paper with a heap of salt. The contents of the paper are meant to convince you of the conclusion; taking the abstract wholesale is moronic. Hell, being completely convinced of anything is moronic. You should always hold a degree of uncertainty in your beliefs.

It was published online Tuesday in the journal Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology.
The longer story is that the reviewers told them that while the actual content was good, the AI images obviously needed to go. The authors agreed, and said the images where just temporary. The authors never uploaded a new version with fixed images, and the editors apparently didn't check what was going on and flagged it for publishing.
Frontiers is a garbage journal.
