        who is apparently that guy:
        https://www.udemy.com/user/giladsof/
        >I hold a PhD in Mythology & Occultism from Bircham University. I've been researching different spiritual and religious teachings, ancient and modern texts and the occult for the past decade. I specialize in channeled teachings. These are teachings that were transmitted to people from beings on the other side!

I'm not suprised that he can't write his many books like "Introduction to Demi Moore" or "Introduction to Taylor Swift" without AI assistance.

      >Dear We are very sorry for this error that occurred, as we provided an incorrect version when submitting the revised paper, as we did not use AI tools to write anything, but one of the authors did, and we removed this paragraph, as this entire paragraph does not add anything to our article.( It seems that I did not save the modifications). We wrote the conclusion ourselves, without resorting to artificial intelligence tools. We hope you understand what happened, and we are very sorry. Here you can find the conclusion that we wrote ourselves Conclusion In conclusion, proper treatment of iatrogenic vascular injuries is dependent on an accurate assessment of the stage of the injury. The injury should be recognized quickly. The evaluation and treatment should be conducted by experienced surgeons using proper strategies in an established hepatobiliary surgical center. Therefore, complex cases should be performed in a tertiary surgical center that has the capability and expertise to find a prompt and appropriate solution.

The worst thing is this probably works. They just list the papers on their CV and 90% of the time they won't get checked. Even the most "though" search will be seeing if the paper exists on google scholar.

Imagine not only using a chatbot to generate your scientific paper but being lazy enough to not even cursorily read through it to erase the telltale phrases. Sigh.

Cheating has always been rampant though. I bet there are a lot of people with degrees now shitting bricks that their old thesis or other paper is compared to a large enough database of other texts for plagiarism.

I suppose cheating properly is a bit like paying to pirate: if you want to do something without effort, why put effort into it?

With high-profile plagiarists like Claudine Gay getting away with it, it's only going to get worse.

Reminder that China and India lead the world in yearly paper retractions. Arxiv for people/groups you trust or getting ideas related to a topic, and published stuff + heavily applied scrutiny otherwise. Generally, anything unpublished and/or from literally-who sources is a waste of time.

You should also take every research paper with a heap of salt. The contents of the paper are meant to convince you of the conclusion; taking the abstract wholesale is moronic. Hell, being completely convinced of anything is moronic. You should always hold a degree of uncertainty in your beliefs.

It was published online Tuesday in the journal Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology.

The longer story is that the reviewers told them that while the actual content was good, the AI images obviously needed to go. The authors agreed, and said the images where just temporary. The authors never uploaded a new version with fixed images, and the editors apparently didn't check what was going on and flagged it for publishing.
