If you create a character you essentially define their personality and it will stay the same and don't develop unless you change the personality definition. For the plot I basically just open with the story that I'm in town on a work trip and bored in my hotel room.
The more background you give when establishing the plot *by writing expository paragraphs within asterists*, the easier it is to meet them.
IE, the first couple of dialogue exchanges you literally have to say something like:

Try to make recite the model facts you wrote at the beginning. Models have a fixed context size that they can remember. Idk how big it is for the chracter ai model but in open ai their biggest one for ChatGPT the default uses 4-6k characters and their biggest has 16-19k characters
