nothing nefarious, they have datacenter AIs they feed with the telemetry from your factory backdoored OS, this will be consumer gimmicks to sell you "AI Hardware". You will still, of course, be expected to buy $20 subscriptions to all the major AI providers like a good user.

Not him but having opinions that one side of the political spectrum wants to suppress because they think it's dangerous for society.
Stuff that's pro trans, anti gun, etc for the right, and anti immigration, anti lgbt, anti critical race theory, etc.
A lot of people already consider antisemitism a crime punishable by prison, and a lot of people think criticism of how Israel "protects itself" constitutes antisemitism.

You may be able to freely state any opinion you want, but you can't assume that this will always be the case, and all of your communications are very likely to be stored, essentially in perpetuity.
Look at how China treats its dissidents, and how it finds them through the same means we're talking about here.
You can't assume that the political landscape of your country won't shift to something similar to China's in the next 10+ years, and if it does, the government will have a list of all the dangerous people who've been shown to have "dangerous ideas" (just like in any totalitarian regime ever, except now they can instantly scan enormous amounts of information about you with the specific goal of finding something to punish you for).
The only wise option is to never let the government (and the corporations whose user data is directly accessible by the government, as we've seen with Prism) have any information about you.

                TL;DR:
                >it's just a census, why wouldn't we tell the German government what religion we believe in? It's not like it's a crime to be israeli haha stop being so paranoid!!

One thing I do now is openly share my opinions on political or politicized topics with those whom I discuss those topics with. Like most people (but I suspect that most normies don't have opinions as extreme or unusual).
If the government knows about those opinions, I have no way of guaranteeing that it won't use them to justify some kind of punishment, for the reasons detailed in the post.

                >that are going to get me thrown in jail
Don't misconstrue my point. I didn't say that. I said that they MIGHT in the future warrant some kind of action, which might be prison, or some kind of erosion of my rights ("dangerous people can't be allowed to X!").
Look at China and other past and present totalitarian regimes if you want examples.
I'm not going to post my personal opinions ITT. The short version doesn't contain enough nuance or context and the long version takes too much time.

There is no argument - you couldn't answer my initial question, so instead you made up this whole head cannon about how you might get persecuted for some unknown activity. It's as pointless as saying we're going to get hit by an asteroid at some point in the future so we may as well kill ourselves now.

You created the strawman because you won't be up front about what the actual issue is.

                Anonymous

You have zero reading comprehension AND zero knowledge of history.
If you're not worried about something that has happened in the past, is happening right now in other countries, and isn't guaranteed to not happen in your country in the future, then good for you. Live a less stressful life and hopefully you're correct and nothing will happen.

But saying that any worry about a potential future danger is some made up delusion is ridiculous.
I could say the same about you thinking that at no point in the future your country is ever going to bring totalitarian measures into effect.

                >You created the strawman because you won't be up front about what the actual issue is.
I told you explicitly and very clearly what the actual issue is. Just because you're ideologically inclined to dismiss it a priori doesn't mean it's not a real concern that people have (which is fine to disagree with).

I highly doubt this. They already saw the problems of requiring tpm on every machine that runs 11, so requiring even more hardware to run 12 for a feature nobody is going to use would be completely moronic on their part.

Every single Windows since 7 (and arguably including Vista) has been taking a basic kernel and DE that work well enough and making it worse in various ways, they don't care because Windows has hellishly effective vendor lock and the competition is incompetent too

So your purchases can be locked to your identity, which will map 1:1 with your devices like with Apple's ecosystem.

Everything isn't about YOU, it's about society. And society needs your purchases to be locked to "you," and you need to be tracked. For society.

But it is all about your interactions, your installed hardware, software, and any data that can possibly be collected while your hardware also helps train their shit locally.

      2. Vista was "compatible" with 1GHz Pentium 4s with 1GB of RAM and 64MB of VRAM. How did Vista run on such a system? Like absolutely fricking dogshit. Either you're too young to remember that or so old you forgot it, or a street shitting thirdie who didn't have electricity back then.

a weird and insane race has started, fueled by goverments + corporate, for complete end user control. they need to obsolete as much older hardware as possible because they want to get pozzed hardware and software to EVERYONE asap.
the more time they waste not doing it the more money "they lose" mentality. this will only pick up steam and we'll hardly have any choices

    >You have to buy a new computer becau-ACK

We've got lifetimes worth of games/software/movies/music. At worst I drop all the future stuff and use some shitty laptop or macbook for email or internet shopping, but I can live without all the nu-age stuff. The old computers you want to throw out can still play (good, but old) games, OFFLINE.

My preferred machine is from 2011, but I own one I built in 2018 and a laptop from 2021. My reluctance get rid of the old stuff is more to do with Microsoft implementing some gay bullshit that won't let programs deemed too old run because muh security or some such thing. Luckily we have an abundance of cracked exes so I can continue playing the steam games I paid for despite valve breaking/blocking older machines in the future from accessing the library without a newer computer.
