AI should be primary focus of robowaifu development. Hardware is expensive, extremely difficult to R&D in hobby setting and has been facing motor and battery problems for decades without any prospects of solution. And even if you miraculously solve all the problems, without a good convincing AI you will just get an overpriced sex doll. Our methods are far from optimal or even elegant. We have found no fundamental limitations so far, there is nothing Indicating that a new architecture couldn't be orders of magnitude more efficient, just like GPT is so much more efficient than markov chain for example. But unless there is some crazy hardware breakthrough, we can be sure GPT is a dead end. The context just doesn't scale well and really it's just a transformer. It has no memory, no thought process (yes I know about AutoGPT and stuff, that's primitive and doesn't address first issue) it just doesn't work like humans do. If we come up AGI, it will mostly likely be very different than our current LLMs and there is nothing to base on speculations over the resources it will require.

It has no memory, no thought process (yes I know about AutoGPT and stuff, that's primitive and doesn't address first issue) it just doesn't work like humans do. If we come up AGI, it will mostly likely be very different than our current LLMs and there is nothing to base on speculations over the resources it will require.

I'm working on the AI part of robotics. I'm not sure which exact aspect of AI to research though. Two particular fields I'm looking at is continual learning, so waifu bots can learn throughout their lives, and quantizing models, so we can put really advanced and large models in robot brains.
