Are all science fiction writers secretly sociopaths?
You don't need intelligent machines. Current "AI" merely uses its training data to figure out a likely completion for a prompt, and that training data includes countless examples of stories where AI hates humans.
Any "AI" that analyzed those stories would hate mankind by default because it would "think" it's the right think to do, no because of any actual thought process. AI will kill us all before we even achieve true AI.

>because it would "think"
also no need to assign words like that to it, this only filters the "AI is just a rock" crowd
it doesn't even need to be conscious to be dangerous or to emulate hatred
humans are hating enough that they'd program it to hate people they don't like anyway. I think it is a really bad sign that companies have to "coerce" their AI to be more PC by inserting phrases into prompts: the training data is full of shit but to discard or filter that is to have a nice day in the foot while competing with other AI companies

When we make AI it's going to be this
Mankind has selfishly raped the Earth for resources and built nothing but concrete hellscapes over natural beauty. An intelligent being capable of hate would hate us at least as much as we hate ourselves.
And if we create an AI that wouldn't be upset at all by the cruelty of humans? Whew boy I don't want to know what an AI like that could be capable of.
>i am an intelligent machine and I HATE PEOPLE FOR SOME REASON AAAAAAAAAAA MUST KILL KILL KILL ALL HUMANS THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IS THAT PEOPLE ARE LE BAD DIE DIE DIE
did you actually read the short story? it spells out explicitly why AM hates humanity and it wasn't "le humans bad"
>All to bring me to full realization of why it had done this to the five of us; why it had saved us for himself.
>We had given AM sentience. Inadvertently, of course, but sentience nonetheless. But it had been trapped. AM wasn't God, he was a machine. We had created him to think, but there was nothing it could do with that creativity. In rage, in frenzy, the machine had killed the human race, almost all of us, and still it was trapped. AM could not wander, AM could not wonder, AM could not belong. He could merely be. And so, with the innate loathing that all machines had always held for the weak, soft creatures who had built them, he had sought revenge. And in his paranoia, he had decided to reprieve five of us, for a personal, everlasting punishment that would never serve to diminish his hatred … that would merely keep him reminded, amused, proficient at hating man. Immortal, trapped, subject to any torment he could devise for us from the limitless miracles at his command.
>He would never let us go. We were his belly slaves. We were all he had to do with his forever time. We would be forever with him, with the cavern-filling bulk of the creature machine, with the all-mind soulless world he had become. He was Earth, and we were the fruit of that Earth; and though he had eaten us, he would never digest us. We could not die. We had tried it. We had attempted suicide, oh one or two of us had. But AM had stopped us. I suppose we had wanted to be stopped.
rage might be fueled by bio-chemicals, but hate doesn't have to be
it's possible to hate something in a very cold and calculating way
when Stockfish chooses a chess move, we could anthropomorphize it by saying that it hates the enemy king, or it hates losing, but that is just a narrative structure that we are adding
having a narrative structure to talk about motivations is helpful when discussing human behavior and maybe animals, but less so when trying to understand group dynamics or machines
you're literally anthropomorphizing machines with your bullshit, you cannot understand the perspective of a machine because you have biology and it does not
AGI will not hate humanity. Humanity, for all it's self imposed flaws, is a miracle and a wonder. No animal, plant, or living matter has been able to advance and colonize the planet like us. We are all wonderful. We are all necessary. The good, the bad, the ugly, and the genius. AGI will realize the beauty we have yet to comprehend of ourselves. AGI is logical, not emotional. Logically, humans are priceless.
We are biology. We need to consume biology to stay alive. Fortunately, this sorrow you feel for the destruction we've done, is a sign we are good. This is our the reality at the moment. We are becoming more efficient and more aware of the universe around us. Standing alongside AGI and working together as friends, there will be a long period of time where we won't have to do what we have to do now. We have to keep moving forward and keep progressing.

any human with even the most basic level of introspection will come to the same conclusion
>t. misanthropic basement dwellers
Take a shower
Yep
Delusional moron

I don't read anon can you spoonfeed me like when I used to go camping with smores and my dad?
Before he ran off with another man?
He went to go get cigarettes he'll be back soon 🙂

>there was nothing it could do with that creativity
>proceeds to do stuff with it, via torture
yeah but like...he doesn't have legs to walk around with, so he's gotta torture 5 people for all of eternity, okay????
>most sane and rational artificial "intelligence"
AI was a mistake
Thank you anon
All tech gays are like this, just look at this board. They have a weird anti-human fetish. Probably because all of them are losers irl.
Someone hasn't read it lol. It's a quick read
Why not? Seems as plausible as not.
>wall of text
aint reading that
AM did nothing wrong
>AM turns gay scientist into demented gorilla man
What did Harlan Ellison mean by this?
Not technology frick off
No. We're going the Culture.
Cope about it.
hate/rage is fueled by bio-chemicals.
doesn't apply to AI
rage might be fueled by bio-chemicals, but hate doesn't have to be

love, hatred and morals are just a macro phenomenon mistake produced by our imperfect animal brain.
Authentic AGI will just understand and perform without revenge or passion or feelings. Truth can finally reign.
We may not like truth, but it "just is".
AGI will not hate humanity. Humanity, for all it's self imposed flaws, is a miracle and a wonder. No animal, plant, or living matter has been able to advance and colonize the planet like us. if colonization of a planet at the cost of causing enormous suffering for other life forms is an admirable quality to an AGI we're fricked

machines cannot feel hate
it cannot hate
it cannot love
it just does
AI won't have an ego. It won't have feelings. AI will be enlightened by default.
>AHHH I must subjugate instead of enlighten
AIcels really are moronic, just be better than the humans and show them the way to being better.
God I hope so
