What's the most impressive thing about ChatGPT? Posted on March 31, 2023 by Anonymous What's the most impressive thing about ChatGPT?
Being able to code
Being able to fool simpletons I to thinking its AGI.
I realized this once I started talking to it for 15 minutes.
It doesn't have cognition. But now that I think about it neither do most humans.
what's the biggest telltale?
>now that I think about it neither do most humans.
yeah my first observation is that it's behavior is similar to middle management type people who have spent so much of their lives in meetings doing little but respond to verbal prompts with plausible sounding replies and suggestions, except that unlike the middle manager they can actually attempt to produce detailed (though often flawed) examples when prompted instead of suggesting you go talk to someone else.
ChatGPT started life as a MBA simulator
Some people say:
>Holy shit, chatGPT is just as concious as me.
And they are right.
No material object will ever have sentience. It's not an emergent property and no one can offer an explanation for how it could be because it can't.
Making retards seethe.
It's ability to avoid indicting the garden gnomes
how good it is at sounding like a redditor
The amount of seething and dilating it causes.
Also the fact that it's more sapient than 90% of people despite being a glorified crossword solving algorithm.
Making Musk seething that 'smartest man alive' bet on wrong horse
nothing, see all the posts no one came with 1 answer to this simple question.
its more interesting to talk to than a dumbfrog
how well it fooled laymen into thinking it's anything more than paraphrasing the top google result
it knows every documentation, reference, manual and guide, every code example, every historical date/fact. (up until 2021)
while google's search efficiency is undisputably declining, day by day, chatgpt comes to the rescue. when google tells me theres 8 results on the whole internet for a 6-letter word search, chatgpt doesnt need many tries until it spits out what i was searching for.
This. I had a battery related question the other day and google just spewed out a bunch of bloat articles. ChatGPT on the other hand could answer my question instantly.
The context window; the fact that you can just paste in a huge block of code or a giant page of API docs
That improved it's usability over GPT3.5 moreso than the better output, to be honest
It can provide a coherent answer for virtually any topic, although it needs to work on phrasing and sequencing
I don't have to deal with teachers or egoistic smart kid when I need help
