Jesus save us all. Our business and economic leaders havent a clue what unholy hell they wrought.
First, it's cool because it's like it's talking to you
Then, it does convenience features like seamlessly integrates into your bank account
Next, it's making "the right decisions" for you on those accounts and on that data
Until, you run out of money because you were auto-invested into the blockchain and now you can't access it "for your own good" and liberty itself dies in the dumbest Terminator-style timeline I've ever heard of.
Probably a worse version of that. At least the Windows/Apple/Super key is a modifier key, and keyboard hardware does a better job of allowing you to hold down multiple keys at the same time if most of them are modifier keys. Even on Linux, you can easily set up keyboard shortcuts with the Super key plus some other key.
I assume this will be more like the email, mute, power, etc. buttons you see on some keyboards. And therefore, less useful. Still usable as a kind of weird modifier key, but not in all programs and not always as easily.
Worse, it replaces the right Control key. Which means it replaces the ability to do Control+Enter, Control+Delete, or Control+Backspace with one hand.
Best-case scenario? It's still right-control and treated that way in most programs and OSs, but Windows interprets a tap of right-control as an open-the-AI command.
THE FUTURE OF WORK >open windows 11 >close 12 ads >skip past setup for mind-reading AI control mechanism for the 1000th time >"Please <INSERT USER NAME HERE> just give us your soul it's not that bad" >decline several optional installations >get to desktop >mouse movement over most of the screen triggers ads, so use Windows key to get to Start menu to open Microsoft Word >accidentally press AI Key >Cortana takes over your whole fricking computer, spends 5 minutes booting up, another 10 installing updates, another 5 booting up again >"HOW CAN I HELP YOU TODAY ANON?" >no button to close window, need to convince the AI to turn itself off >it's stubborn >two hours into your work day, Microsoft Word opens >AI companion auto-starts thanks to the new update >manage to turn it off, but every time you mouse over the wrong part of the screen it comes back >4 hours in, barely edited a page >boss is pissed, fires you >go home, want to play some vidya >open windows 11
>hit winkey >type what I want to find on this computer. >it searches the web. >skip through the two or three results at the top to get what I want.
>hit AI key >type what I want to find on this computer. >it searches the web. >only results are the ai interpreted summaries of the web pages I wasn't looking for.
Its a trend which means a stupid decision made by big corpo that all others pesser big corpos will adapt to because yes, just like apple stupid decision of putting Laptop f-keys on a fricking disgraceful touch screen and the most moronic of them all: the creation of smartphone, total gayMAN Death
it'll probably be implemented in the same way that the weird sponsored office keys are (e.g., win+ctrl+shift+alt+L which should work on all modern Windows 10 and 11 installs) because microsoft has no fricking idea what they're doing
It's just another Super Key that will open a ChatGPT window.
but I can use function hotkeys to open ANY webpage or program, including ChatGPT.
botnet.
win 10 has a shortcut, I believe super+C currently opens cortana.
Lmao. imagine having a key on your keyboard that pull up this deprecated shit.
There are a bunch of others that open Office applications as well, hardcoded into Windows.
lolz didn't they release standalone cortana relatively recently?
Cortana isn't AI. It's some trash version of Siri
CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + WIN + L
opens linkedin
for what purpose. It opens it on the default browser too.
my keyboard probably can't register all those at once
Finally, a keyboard shortcut that involves the palm of my left hand.
>it's real
I'm getting real tired of this bullshit.
brb
another key that will become useless when i install gnu+linux
>useless
hang your head in shame for not knowing xmodmap/xkbcomp
But I use Wayland
oh... well then. i have a ball, perhaps you'd like to bounce it.
yes, please
why use a shortcut when you can put a new key?
checkmate atheists
AI and chatgpt are the buzzwords right now, they need to shove it anywhere they can.

I dunno, that sounds more responsible with my money than I've ever managed to be, I usually just spend it on drugs.
don't forget to go get your eyeballs scanned for sam altman's worldcoin scam!
AI is the new NFT.
looks kinda like the shekel symbol or the pfizer logo
meds now
Nah, he's right.
new version of this
Kek this. Instead of Windows key and typing in what you're looking for it's not AI key and typing in what you're looking for.

I knew that emacs chords would make an AI appear, but please, not like this.

this dumb shit is what results when you keep promoting Bing product managers instead of firing them
>YOU AI' WHITEBOI
They just ressucitated the "hyper" key only to repurpose this shit as "ai button", doesn't it?
>be right arm amputee
>now have to reach over to other side of the keyboard to open the start menu
th-thanks microsoft

Yep. Anon is in the early stages of Troonism. We might be able to save him if we get him off the computer

You're missing the mandatory 2fa.
>THE FUTURE OF WORK
Doesn't include me, I've made it 30 years without getting a job so far and my streak will continue until I die.
thats already what my work computer is like
it's a rebranded Cortana / Google Assistant / Bixby / Windows key
so it really is E=MC^2 + AI after all......
>E=MC^2 + AI
wut

I just pressed it and nothing happened.
but I'm also concerned that I just enabled some sort of botnet.
Do mikeyhard even make keyboards or pcs ??
