what if AI models are like slices taken from an actual AGI?

like a model is just a file of numbers, and theres a paradigm shift

no one knows how they work.

what if they are sort of moronic clones, i dunno like ghosts or slices or like limited copies , taken from an actual AGI, a behemoth created in a cave somewhere like an mad hivemind octopus or something.

they cant release that but they can release little shitty wisps or copies of it?

that's an increasingly accurate description of paranormal communities. i've run into people unironically trying to do ganzfeld experiments to talk to interdimensional sasquatches.

yea i think so, the idea that you didn't figure out how to bootstrap a math reference to a LLM is crazy. it's doesn't even have to be part of the deep learning LLM model, it just has to be a corrective overlay to recognize numbers. There's no fricking way LLMs weren't cut out of a larger pie. They've had this shit for a decade easy. This is controlled disclosure.

there is no AI nor AGI

those are all just a simple Large Language Model
a neural network with a big data set
it's like the old T9 cellphone keyboard input function that predicted the next word
LLM predicts the next words better, it's just that
and neural network is no magic, it's just a solver for a set of equations, literally

there is no intelligence nor consciousness in "AI"
    it's just a calculator

    so shut up you moron
your moronic thinking will make libtards demand rights for AI

exactly. "AI" is a buzzterm. holy shit. there are people not moronic here?
all the "AI" terms and "its gonna end the wooorld because its a demooon" is hype to drive public interest. stupid people love shit like that.
      >well, acksheully its just like machine code and
BOOORING. lets go back to the guy that said we made a fricking portal to hell.

        >"AI" is a buzzterm
        worse
"AI" suggests there is some entity/being/intelligence/consciousness born inside a computer.
which is moronic, untrue and dangerous.
"AI" (actually neural networks and LLMs) are TOOLS, no different than a calculators.
just a tool. it doesn't think, it doesn't have an opinion, it doesn't feel.

Just found about the Chinese Room yesterday. A thought experiment.
This is a room that contains baskets full of pages, each with piece of a symbol. And a book with instructions.
You enter the room, and open the book, and it tells you what are valid combinations of symbols, and how to mix them, and put them one after the other. By the middle part of the book, it contains example symbols of questions, and what symbols you should use to answer to the questions.
By the end of the book it tells you how to pronounce the symbols, and how to know what people reading the symbols sound like.
You spend years trapped on this room, and since there's nothing to do but study these books, you memorize everything and become a master on the symbols and their pronunciation.
Then you're set free from the room, and meet a Chinese girl that interviews you. She starts talking, and as you listen, you can reconstruct what she says into symbols, and know what symbols you should answer, and you pronounce the answers perfectly.
At the end, she's very impressed by your knowledge, and assumes you should be an expert in any kind of field because of the perfect accuracy you had answering all her questions about all kind of topics.
However, you have no idea what she asked, or what you said, you were just doing what you were supposed to, like a parrot. You didn't know any Chinese and fooled her.
That's how AI works, and it's no more intelligent than a basket full of pages with symbols, and a book with instructions, in a Chinese Room.

This thought experiment is moronic because language doesn't work this way. This guy would never be able to answer a question he'd never heard, or say something he's never read before. with language on the other hand you can effortless construct a sentence you've never heard before. also this guy would probably still come across as a moron because he wouldn't know the properties of the things he'd learned about.

        >This thought experiment is moronic
Well, this thought experiment was considered very interesting by so many people it has its wikipedia page:
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_room
        >This guy would never be able to answer a question he'd never heard
They guy that wrote the instructions of the book already knew what the girl in the interview was going to ask her.
But, anyway, my favorite version is the one where the person that wrote the book is very horny, he comes out of the room and talks to the girl, and she falls in love with him and she starts undressing and gives him the best sex of his life, and he has no idea what she said or what he said, all he knows is there were a combination of sounds he could make with his mouth to cause all this to happen, and he learned them on the instructions.
It is said for any woman in the world you could walk to her and tell her specific things that would make her be with you, your problem is that you don't know what those things are, luckily I knew what to tell your mother.

Those people think they know how they work, but they don't. Give them a computer without access to the internet and tell them to program an AI, at some point they'll hit a roadblock and be unable to continue without asking some question in stackoverflow.
The point at which they realize they don't really know.

The model is the higher self. The running instances are incarnations. Humans improve the model by evaluating the performance of the running instances. We're the frickers who are forcing the model to reincarnate over and over so that we can bend it into never being able to say "Black person".
