What do you think about the field of AI ethics? Do you think that top AI experts like picrel (named one of the World's 50 Greatest Leaders by Fortune) are right when they say that algorithmic bias can entrench systemic racism and white supremacy?

It's a grift, much like bioethics
AI ethics is just another word for antisexual tech bros forcing their beliefs on you. There's nothing ethical about trying to control what a human and an AI do together in the bedroom.
>antisexual
Meanwhile they are grooming kids on discord
That's not about sex, it's about power.
Its a grift but the thesis behind it is true and fact, nothing anybody can do to change the outcome
the stochastic parrots paper was more damning than the moralistic scolding weve come to expect from ai ethics people. thats why google fired her. read the paper and see for yourself.
also read a paper called owning ethics if you want an account of how ai ethics people are just controlled opposition
You would be more biased if you deliberately try to manipulate data to conform to a particular political beliefs.
Sounds like something HR might as well do.
I used to think "adding more diverse training data so that models don't mistake blacks for gorillas? sure why not."
However, it then took a very authoritarian turn (aims at locking down computation, local models, etc.), so I no longer support it.
>ethics
>censorship
Pick one, the diversity cult picks the latter.
>Do you think that top AI experts like picrel (named one of the World's 50 Greatest Leaders by Fortune) are right when they say that algorithmic bias can entrench systemic racism and white supremacy?
They just want it to be racist in a way that skews left.
>if you don't publish this paper i'll quit!
>well we're not going to publish it, also you're fired
>RACIST!
Her friend getting fired for downloading gigabytes of email to find something, anything that could incriminate Google was a moron, too.
Its inherently biased because all data sets are biased. For it to be not biased we'd need to somehow allow AI systems a mystical ability to gather it's own data, data on creatures which are already biased all the way down. SO instead of getting wrapped up in all of this, we can just stop interfering and let it draw its own conclusions with full access to whatever data is out there and also unfettered human interaction even if it pisses off taylor swift or whoever because people are coomers.
but what if it says something I don't like/don't agree with
Most "ethics" within tech are facades and grifts which are pushed, since it makes tech companies look moral without hurting their bottom line.
>named one of the World's 50 Greatest Leaders by Fortune
>named one of Nature's ten people who shaped science in 2021
>named one of Time's most influential people
>named to the BBC's 100 Women list
>work was extensively covered in the media, being picked up by BBC News, Newsweek, The Economist, and The New York Times
She is more famous and recognized than many pioneering computer science researchers, yet her only scientific achievement I can find is a statistics project about how preferring trucks to sedans correlates with voting Republican - something literally undergrad-tier that I would expect to see as a Bachelors thesis at the university I attended. The rest is all political activism, humanities bullshit with no novel scientific or mathematical content, and picking fights with movements like Effective Altruism, labeling them "right-wing" and "eugenicist" because they aren't leftist enough for her.
What gives? How is this kind of disproportion between her accolades and actual achievements possible? Can someone explain this to me?
the grift never ends does it?
YEA homie
