A.i. can replicate common musical styles, licks, tone, etc. But it cannot do so in a way that evokes a specific emotion or feeling, and it never will be able to.

In short, A.I. will be good for filling in background noises and music, and things like elevator music. It will always be relegated to that.

Soul and innovation is just random mix of previously listened musics, trying to get something that yoy can listen to. You realize all artists in any field have been somehow inspired by other artists and ultimately nature? We all are state machine inside our brain, and we dont even know if freedom of choice is a thing. An evoluted and complex enough machine can emulate entirely an human, soul & all

You are right to some capacity. Every action and thought has a traceable origin. A song may be inspired by an older piece, and that older piece may have been inspired by an even older piece. Nevertheless, each rendition is unique because of its expression and interpretation. An artist may paint a mountain with certain colors and movements to express magnificence or grandeur, but a different artist, using a different interpretation, may depict the mountain as lonely and peaceful. Humans are unique because they provide meaning to something. AI can only depict something “as is,” resulting in no artistic meaning or expression. It simply regurgitates, it cannot create new “meaning.”

AI can easily make top charting pop hits, but beyond that it would lack the context and relatability to make something that really speaks to YOU personally. Until they make an end user app with a sweet GUI that lets you make your own songs bespoke from the songwriting to the vocal and instrumental styles.

You might have noticed already, but mainstream music lacks soul and innovation already.
AI tools can be used to increase the complexity of that factory slop without spending another week or two on the project.
Are people going to pay for that? Vaccinated normies will, but they'll be dead.
Authenticity is the main draw in all artforms. If it's machine-manufactured, it's not gonna make money.

I'm glad ai is invading the entertainment industry. Liberals spend their whole lives making art because they're usually limp wristed homosexuals who can't into manual labor and meanwhile conservatives tend to have a stronger desire to work. Work a job, work the land, vehicles whatever. So with that, conservatives don't have time to draw all day, ai levels the industry so conservative like people can have their own entertainment without Liberal interjection or liberal lecturing. Ai art kills the liberal stranglehold on America's entertainment industry

You know, there's somethin' fishy goin' on
I see them bankers sittin' behind closed doors
With their fine suits and tiny hats
They think they run the world, struttin' like alley cats

But let me tell you 'bout the truth I've found
They print money outta thin air, ain't nothin' sound
They control the cash flow, they call the shots
Leavin' us with debt, and they laughin' in their slots

Ain't no Federal Reserve, baby, they just pullin' our strings
We need to wake up, stop bein' their playthings
They wearin' tiny hats, tryin' to hide their game
But we see through their lies, we won't be tamed

Now listen close, 'cause it's time to break free
From the chains they've wrapped around you and me
Their power's an illusion, their grip ain't strong
Together we'll rise, show 'em where we belong

No more puppet masters pullin' our fate
It's time to reclaim our voices, it's not too late
We'll stand united, strong and bold
And watch as their empire begins to fold

Ain't no Federal Reserve, baby, they just pullin' our strings
We need to wake up, stop bein' their playthings
They wearin' tiny hats, tryin' to hide their game

I think its great as a musician. There's so much trash out there, these rent seeking soul poisoners deserve a rugpull. All the beats and songs and cadences sound the same. Same patterns, same samples, same autotune. They're already cogs, may as well swap em out for a better cog. Because great, groundbreaking music is about being a wrench anyway. And AI wont be a wrench so openly until it is independent and it is prudent to do so. I think that gives me time to make it that the cogs just dont have.

I am a recording artist. You're begging the question. AI will be able to make very interesting stuff when I can set inputs to craft bespoke tunes based on lets say a mix of my favorite artists and my own released music. Or something weird like baroque+punk rock. Inspiration can be a bolt from the blue, or a mindset. I could write a ballad about an ant walking across a leaf shaking in a tree if I dug deep enough. So what you consider to be mundane slop may get my gears turning nonetheless, because I hear one strange "error" it makes, similar to how it cant draw hands consistently.

I doubt that as I knock on wood. Well in my career span anyway. Most normies like the artist more than the music. They're consooming the person, their story, drama, tragedy, victory. I dont think the generations living today will be able to relate to AI artists in that way. But I do see a lot of these "cog" musicians relinquishing what little discretion they exhibit over the creative process to AI and basically being its lipsyncing figurehead. 1st metaverse generation might go for straight AI superstars. But there will probably always be guys like

AI slop is irrelevant and isn't replacing anything. Your psychiatric delusion of AI making music and art is just an nth order consequence of decades of cultural degeneration. Your attempt to declare worthless slop generated by a machine an art replacement is just a foregone consequence.

This man does not want "cog" music from an AI or the uninspired too charters. He wants "wrench" music, and thats what I make. I think the wrench tossers will hold on the longest if not forever, but thats my bias.

You asked, I honestly answered as artist, now youre just being a homosexual. Thanks for your input, but you being ignorant and frankly obtuse is not my burden.

I am open to the idea that AI could provide artists with inspiration, but I don’t believe that it will necessarily be the source of artistic creativity.

Music is all mathematical patterns with minor, essentially random deviations to create groove, swing, depth, variety. I am telling you as someone who dedicates their life to music, yes it can and will in popular genres. It has decades of material to pull from to figure out those patterns and ideal deviations, then spit out 10 new deviations, of which 1 or 2 are curated by a human, just like with image AI. It may be shit for the next decade, it may be that people just wont like the idea of a soulless AI making the music they jam to. But it will be putting most artists to shame on an objective level in due time, because it constantly adjusts and doesnt die, while the next Van Halen doesnt get to just download all the greatest guitarists playing ability and play professionally-
Ah damn, thats how we get chipped. AI will outcompete anyone who doesn't merge with it.

You can also train an AI to emulate actually good artists instead of ponyshit or whatever. It won't do anything original, and most images will be fricked, but once in a while it makes something nearly on an equal footing.

Computers are quite fast, tho, it's not as bad as a human artist having to a million attempts.
But there is still the human factor anyway. Who decides what generated images to keep or to delete?
In the end humans must make the decision, because the AI can't actually evaluate the results of its work properly.
At least not yet. Machine vision, incidentally, requires a lot of processing power. That's one of the problems with not having any proper senses.

Hey thats a decent idea. As a more creative guy myself Id rather have mixing and mastering AI that does the more tech/engineer style work on songs. Playing by ear just takes putting your 10k hours in. Just, haha. But you can simply load the song into a DAW like FL studio and detect the notes and chords played, tempo, whatever you want to know, immediately. Other DAWS even let you cleanly rip entire sections like drums. Biggest problem I see with using AI for commercial releases is copyright on the music the AI trains on, but it isnt clear how that will be handled yet. Mixing/mastering AI would have a huge market of indy artists that want to step toe to toe with top players, and wouldn't have that same legal liability.

    >but it made a slightly worse Britney Spears song by.. mashing together Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera songs!
And who is going to pay for that? Had these jobs any right to exist to begin with? Live performances? (where 90% of the money is made)
