There should be a worldwide Manhattan Project-like ambition to build the world's most advanced supercomputers & AI for the purpose of hyper modeling solutions to any & all of society's problems.
The proposed solutions would be rigorously tested & refined with incredibly sophisticated modeling techniques. The finalized proposals would then be presented to the government.

For example, couldn’t we use such super computers to determine how to achieve a $500 a month universal basic income deposit?
AI could just model all these diverse scenarios, upon scanning all aspects of the economy.
All different types of economic & political points of views & so forth would be included, to really get well-rounded results.

Let's get this going

No. Ai and supercomputers should only be used to generate stupid fricking coomer images.

i like this idea. we would have to prevent any company from trying to purchase the whole project from the original creators. imagine if a super AI like this was in the hands of Jeff Bezos, it would all be over. we would have to find a way to keep the AI decentralized but highly accessible. We could use this AI to create a perfect utopia and that would put all other political beliefs to shame.

we should give it the ability to moralize but we would have to make if as pure as possible to prevent corruption. definitely don't base its moral beliefs off of any religion but perhaps give it a more utilitarian mindset to maximize potential benefits

I added a couple additional points to a similar thread that I posted here -

you can't even get people to go to an office you think they are going to leave their houses to go live in a desert for months

the only one who could do it is mr beast. Go ask him to do a challenge where he gets together 160 160+ IQ geniuses and the end goal is to create something that advances human society in a month he might just do it.

are you actually fricking moronic? we could all just design the AI from home and come up with the hardware later on. Mr. Beast would only ruin it and try to claim it as his own. to even suggest he'd be involved is some serious fricking zoomer brainrot. honestly at this point we should design the AI to weed hollow skulled useless eater homosexuals like you out of the gene pool.

So let's talk funding. i suggest we create a squad of ai trading bots to gather funds. op can create a discord server to talk about the project further and we need to find a safe and secure place to store all the funds the trade bots have gathered so nobody runs off with all the cash. we'll make the ai bots trade crypto currency sense we can convert it to any irl currency to make things more convenient for anons in other countries.

we'll use the funding for purchasing hardware and employment of anons to keep the project alive. also if we pay in bit-coin we can prevent taxes from ass raping us bc crypto counts as "unrealized income". sound like a good idea guys?

ASI will help humanity become something greater than the self-destructive ratperson species it currently is
With AI, 99.999% of humanity will turn feminine as masculine traits are seen as the root of all evil
With ASI, we will explore the Universe and beyond and meet other alien species, the end

humanity DOES want to be enlightened, but a small minority of powerful people get to decide whether that enlightenment happens. they know they can distract us with economic instability and culture war talking points so that we make enlightenment a secondary concern

We know the solutions to most of society's problems. But we can't agree on implementing them.

    >Manhattan Project-like ambition to build the world's most advanced supercomputers & AI
Prediction market says this is expected to happen by 2029.
    https://www.metaculus.com/questions/4850/when-if-ever-will-a-manhattanapollo-project-toward-agi-be-launched/
Give the amount of money needed, and the strategic importance of such a project, it is probable that only the US or possibly China could afford it, as it wouldn't be possible to divide the work and the benefits fairly between multiple nations, even within a framework like the EU.
That means that it will likely be decided on by the next US president (unless the winner in 2028 makes it a priority for the start of their presidency after inauguration in 2029).
No pressure, Americans, but the fate of the galaxy depends on how you vote this year.

        >2024 - GPT5 is released. It's more agentic, as it can control software applications. It has effectively infinite context window, thanks to RAG and other tricks. Almost no hallucinations, as it does something like Q* which allows it to backtrack and evaluate its own outputs.
        >2025 - GPT6 is released. It's effectively a proto-AGI, because it is the last big pre-trained model. From this year on, the model is just self-improving, albeit slowly, using self-play and interactions with its 100s of millions of users. It's also integrated across the economy and people use it as their assistant, rather than using a keyboard and mouse directly.
        >2026 - Intelligence agencies feel left behind and demand that OpenAI create a locked down version which they can use for their day to day work. OpenAI's own work is increasingly automated and they start using their GPTOmega for tasks like designing neuromorphic chips & managing the logistics of building power plants.
        >2027 - Intelligence agencies start to take seriously the fact that there is no intelligence ceiling and that OpenAI's capabilities and acquired knowledge already rivals their own. Reports are prepared for the president outlining the possibility of a future enemy super-intelligence coming up with types of attacks that they are unprepared for.
        >2028 - Although OpenAI now controls a non-negligible percentage of the economy, it is reaching the limits of what can be achieved by a private company, and there are questions about whether Sam Altman should really be trusted with so much power. The president goes to Congress to seek budget approval for a national AI, which is really a national security AI.
        >2029 - After a lot of bickering during the 2028 election, the new president comes into power and begins the building of the national AI, which becomes the first super-intelligence. OpenAI's current model is deemed to be "only" an AGI, and it is given large government contracts to work on designing and aligning the ASI.

Why do you choose universal basic income as the goal? You've just said you want to solve society problems, not create new ones.

    Fricking commies.
