You will have a better chance at survival running a hot dog cart than being a software engineer.

Learning how to write prompts does take a little skill and trial and error, but once you figure it out it makes writing emails easy as shit. “Write 100 words in a professional tone of voice at a 12th grade reading level telling all employees [x]. Make sure everything you say is compliant with federal labor laws and the employee handbook” *attach pdf of employee handbook*.
      >t. Employer that doesn’t have to waste time doing that anymore or have to pay anyone to do that shit for me

    >Hotel Concierge - Runnr ($1.2M)
lots of these things miss the nuance of the positions. a hotel concierge is not just someone who gives you directions or calls a taxi or books a ticket for a show. at high quality hotels, they are people who know people, know what bars are hot, can get you into Dorsia at 8pm, can get you a escort, coke, tickets for Hamilton (if you are a gay) and so on. they are meant to be your hookup for cool shit in the city.

this won’t replace real concierges it will be a way for hotels that don’t employ a concierge now to provide concierge services

Notice how they always try to turm the goys against each other. "X job told Y job to "learn to code" so Y job should subscribe to AI to own X job."
~~*They*~~ are stealing the fruit of your labors, replace it with AI slops and prepare for ww3 to wipe you off.

I work in manufacturing and they are looking into data analyst ai to replace the analyst that exist now. They basically just look at raw material, see if we can produce what is needed by customer and how to fit everything onto trucks while keeping weight balanced and under limit. I could see that being automated fairly easily and phasing out 20 people or 5% of the companies workforce. The issue though is AI learning how to prepare for unplanned issues like machine downtime in order to meet production needs while also considering you have limited space to store finished goods. I say it could be trained in 6 months to a year.

ChatGPT is getting progressively worse at data analysis. 6 months ago it could barely do it, now it can’t even analyze a spreadsheet without throwing an error and giving up.

That's why it might fail here. There are awful inventory issues because they do not record production and scrapped product properly leading to false numbers and analyst having to verify numbers physically. If production was done properly, which it should be, then it could be done by ai. More of a management issue but eventually the money saved with ai will outweigh paying salaries.

Talking to ChatGPT like it’s a dumb toddler can help sometimes. I started asking it to double check its work any time it’s doing anything with numbers and that unironically improves its results quite a bit.

I use it for rephrasing but honestly its always shit I don't know why like it you can recognize it immediately.

Yeah once you recognize its writing style it’s pretty easy to spot. It literally writes everything the way elementary school children are taught how to write short essays, complete with introductory and conclusion paragraphs. The more specific you are in regards to voice, the less obvious it is. When I’m using it as a glorified search engine, sometimes I ask it to assume a famous person’s personality when answering queries and it does a surprisingly competent job even though it’s a lot more positive and dumb than a real person.

Ye, I am scared of AI making my work as data analyst redundant. But at least I work for the government who loves to run behind facts of 10 years.

The other day I asked Gemini for a suggestion for a book on a certain topic, and the AI made up the title, attributed it to a writer who had nothing to do with the topic, and even wrote a whole fake review that was super in-depth.

Been saying this for years now. The morons pushing AI thinking it would take over blue collar jobs first are getting wrecked by AI. If your only interface with your job is through a computer screen congratulations, you are on the chopping block. It's doesn't matter if you are writing the AI. That soon will also be replaced. If you are in robotics thinking you will be forcing blue collars out while you sit and collect, think again. AI will push you out before you get to hand one human a pink slip.

In hindsight it’s fricking hilarious looking back on all the learn2code shit that TPTB were blasting in trucker’s faces a few years ago. As if teaching an AI how to write HR boilerplate was impossible but teaching it how to propel 12 tons of cargo across the country without killing anyone, destroying the cargo and not causing any property damage was mere child’s play.
