As far as corporate private sector is concerned, it's more about designing UIs so customers do their own shopping and ordering so the company doesn't have to hire as many employees. Phone tree voice recognition speech to text and text to speech is already a thing and has been for years. Frankly it's pissing me off how difficult it is to go anywhere or call anywhere and get a person. Even online text chats are bots often. Or when they aren't the company forces their employees to use a script instead of using actual problem solving skills.
