Generative AI doesn't have to become AGI to be successful. I think that's what most people get wrong. AGI just means that it can do anything automatically, but LLM's as they are today can already do lots of tasks with a corresponding agent framework. I also hope the focus on AGI gets washed out so that we finally can work on the best integrations of generative AI.

It's already understood that LLM are a fad bigger than blockchains, it was all a scan for Nvidia to sell GPUs and AWS to rent them in exuberant prices and they have already reached the peak of their performance and they are already pretty useless for any real world scenario. In fact they drain creativity and originality even in corporate software, they prevent development teams from focusing on real new features that will generate wealth, they are a bottomless money pit and it's a lawsuit waiting to happen over privacy laws, criminal negligence and lying, hate speech and copyright laws. Soon the bean counters in corporations are going to start dropping the LLM initiatives and imo this is long overdue. It's over for """AI""", the bubble is bursting any moment now.
