There were plenty of forced meme techs recently, like NFTs, the metaverse, shit like that. But AI is actually extremely useful already. Asking ChatGPT a question about some obscure topic is way more likely to give you a useful answer than any search engine ever could.

Fast LLMs will always require processing on external servers but that latency basically kills it for voice conversations with them so it's useless.

It is just a digital assistant that can interpret voice commands to search web and trigger some basic phone functions. It is not trained on large amount of data like LLMs are.

Apple knows (most of the time) when not to get into shitty underbaked tech. AI right now is horrible slop. Picture generation is a horror-show of uncanny valley. Text generation is unreliable and hallucinates if you prompt it on rare and more complicated topics.

I don't think they will add straight up image generation app for ios. They will use it as img2img photo editor and will probably not even ask users for prompts they will just use object recognition algorithms they already have and only give users ability do delete objects from photos.
