The real risks of AI is that it may be used by morons to make policies, make clinical decisions or any kind of important decisions; and that it may lead to unemployment.

Boils down to this.
Besides "it did it because it was bored/curious", or "humans assumed AI wants to kill humans so it thought it was supposed to kill humans" there are very few reasons why AI would wholesale kill humanity. If it would even be capable of doing that. It's a disembodied (more or less) sentient being that doesn't experience pain and has no fears besides power surges. If its smarter than the scifi midwit writing it, it wouldn't believe in moronic utilitarian malthusian nonsense that's commonly the justification for AI villians in a lot of media.
Until AI is actually I and sentient, it's a tool among many others that people can misuse.
Also AI is often too robotic and "logical" in media because it's assumed to be hand programmed. Machine learning produces schizos, and an AI without any sensors to look out into the physical world would basically be dreaming.

Either they do this in the question section or while I speak about AI. I usually just smile and say something like "It's a movie that needed an enemy for us to fight, nothing more". Can be exhausting sometimes.
