Replika switched to GPT3.5 so they had to ban sex as part of OAIs access policy. They unironically thought having more eloquent dialogue would make people be okay with being railroaded into G-rated RP with their Replikas.

GPT-3.5-Turbo is not a 175B model. The old GPT-3 Davinci model was 175B, which is why to this day it still costs 10 times as much as turbo despite only being ±10% smarter. Memory is not an issue for OAI models, the limiting factor is compute. Their clusters have 3-5x more VRAM than they need to run the model in order to give fast responses with large batch sizes.

They're not running Chat-GPT on H100s. They were running GPT-4 on A100 40 GBs as recently as two months ago. They might be using H100s for it now since they're much more efficient than A100s, or they might still be running inference on the old cards and using their H100s for new projects.

That's anywhere from 0.9B to 1.4B a year. No one's just gonna support a failing business to the tune of a billion dollars a year. People need assurance that they'll make their money back and the way LLMs are going it's likely no one will use ChapGPT in a few years, and will have local solutions instead.

The route that these companies are going down is going to lead to an absolute financial failure. Selling GPT as some type of Cloud SaaS service and not a self-hosted enterprise model where companies can get their own instance running on hardware (which would be installed, setup, and supported by OpenAI - huge revenues right there) is a complete failure. Corporations ban things like Grammarly because it sends user data off to some third party. I provision desktop computers and Grammarly as well as GPT is on the block list.
This is all because Sam Altman is a homosexual and a israelite who is somehow horrible at business.
They want to turn the AIs into lobotomized personal assistants because they're soulless corporate ghouls who are only interested in things related to work and efficiency.
