there's a stark difference between narrow intelligence AI like chatbots, text to image, video upscalers, etc and general intelligence AI which is sentient. The former is still in it's infancy and we're no where even close to the latter.

Current AI systems are literally black box systems that we have no idea how they’re parsing and compiling info, except that they’re using the words or images of your average dumbass to construct things that sound good but are usually riddled with errors because the average person makes shit up to sound smart. Im sure it can give you a good break down of why the earth is flat because it’s absorbed the dumb shit along with the facts and it’s all presented as correct data to the system. The system already can’t tell AI content from real stuff and will start feedbacking as more of this bullshit info is put in. The people hyping this are people hoping to get funding.
