Israel is using an AI model to select targets for bombing with minimal human oversight. We're about to enter total dystopia and no one seems to care lmao

old news, this has been a thing for the korean DMZ using samsung turrets for decades. Israel has had unmanned automated turrets outside of gaza for years as well.

      >about to
      >he doesn't know amerilards started two proxy wars just to test their new war toys
      Go back.

What is the problem here exactly? Tools have been around since the stone age, machine learning is not new. So Israel doing what it can to defend itself seems reasonable.

why did you all reply within 19 seconds of each other?

OP here. If I were pretending to be someone else to bump my thread, I'd have posted something far smarter. I can't rule out that it's Israeli bots trying to make light of this thing tho

In this case, AI is not a tool used to kill, instead it is autonomously deciding the targets to kill and then the humans kill them, ironically humans are the ones who seem like a tool.

      https://www.972mag.com/lavender-ai-israeli-army-gaza/

      >The Lavender software analyzes information collected on most of the 2.3 million residents of the Gaza Strip through a system of mass surveillance, then assesses and ranks the likelihood that each particular person is active in the military wing of Hamas or PIJ. According to sources, the machine gives almost every single person in Gaza a rating from 1 to 100

      >if Lavender decided an individual was a militant in Hamas, they were essentially asked to treat that as an order, with no requirement to independently check why the machine made that choice

      >the reason for this automation was a constant push to generate more targets for assassination. “In a day without targets [whose feature rating was sufficient to authorize a strike], we attacked at a lower threshold. We were constantly being pressured: ‘Bring us more targets.’ They really shouted at us. We finished [killing] our targets very quickly.”

When an entire population declares itself your enemy and declares that your utter genocide is their goal, and then act on it, you stop caring so much about collateral damage.
Then the other side does the same, and before long it's just mutually assured mass murder.

    >the data from your Steam multiplayer shooters and RTS war games are being documented second by second in a standardized parsable format
    >the data is being used to train Pentagon AI systems to do real battlefield simulations
    >they are developing portable and modular command systems the size of shipping containers
    >it's basically a huge array of CUDA GPUs coupled to a server rack with some PCI boards tailored for radio comms and electronic warfare
    >it's a portable AI that will assess all battlefield intelligence by monitoring radio comms (which it will be able to translate from any language + triangulate locations), launching a swarm network of autonomous drones with highly advanced image recognition and latency, and monitoring ally troop movements
    >everything will be hooked up to it like individual soldier's radios and GPS units, vehicle's boomerang systems that detect direction of incoming fire, and it'll even read officer reports - and all this data will ultimately be used to map out green zones and red zones and to weight strategic calculations and predict the enemies' next moves
    >operators can give it complete control of Hellfire and Predator drones, which it can autonomously use to strike enemy targets
    >it will eventually be given control of dozens, possibly hundreds, of mini-tank chassis robots with mounted M4s to complement infantry functions in urban zones
    >top brass will love it so much they'll eventually hand it control of advanced ballistic systems
    >you know what happens next

And? Missile systems have been using machine learning for decades. It's war, people will do everything can to kill each other. Why care?
