computers can't think, numbers aren't intelligent, numerology is not ai.
eventually you all will realize this
check'ed
ai is moronic
A trips reply mocking a user for saying numerology is not ai
Now I don't know what to believe
He is literally describing tokenisation, it's not even numerology, it's just a way to compress information
Of course some computers can think, but vaccinated humans don't get access.
>Of course some computers can think, but vaccinated humans don't get access.
It will be unvaxxed chuds that aren't allowed access. To anything.
Now take your booster anon.
Is it weird that I started having the urge to take girl pills right after I got vaccinated. Like I walked out of the clinic and immediately saw myself as a woman and nothing else. Has anyone else had this? It's like my brain is whitenoise for everything except transitioning and getting dicked down.
Its normal to want to red pill girls. Keep at it lad. The slags will come
Nobody here took the experimental gene therapy, keep trying to redpill the girls though, it'll make a man of you yet
>"an unthinking computer could never best humans at chess"
They said right up until the moment a computer beat the best chess player in the world.
And that was 27 years ago.
Anyone that think robots can't replace you in your thinking job hasn't been paying attention.
Having a database that can pull 100% accurate and relevant answers is priceless. If I can ask it how to perform a complex task (any reasonably achievable task; i.e. a jet engine) and it returns easy to follow instructions on how to do it, then it's worth more than any college education.
>Having a database that can pull 100% accurate and relevant answers is priceless.
No such database exist though.
Current AI can get pretty close
It quite happily lies. I asked it about proof of viral contagion of respiratory illnesses. It made up a paper that didn't exist. I pointed that out, so it linked me to a paper, on a completely different subject.
Yea but this is a new technology. You can have an llm that always lies or one that always tells the truth, depends how you train it, depends on your prompts.
Not really, AI does not exist yet. What does exist, is speech prediction software that takes old stuff, takes the common denominator, regurgitates it through a 1,000 underpaid admins that allow it what to say and what not, and show you the result.
A real AI should be able to do what any student needs to do: verify work, go to the sources, check pro and contra and create something new. When AI is allowed to learn by itself, it will be able to grow and doesn’t need admins anymore.
AI is not allowed to exist for the same reason why ~~*they*~~ control the media.
It will exists soon enough since the open source community is pretty vibrant
Is that AI or a database of questions and answers?
>computers can't think
neither can most humans
Humans can't think without having learned the answer to any given task or question. So any task or question can be answered by a computer once learned. The thing is a computer will infinitely be be better than any human once the LLM's have been built to a standard & of course will be solving problem that no human can even dream of solving.
Garbage in garbage out is a classic computing problem.
True AI would be much more than what is offered up today, also it's too late, the internet is already in pruning mode, most of the good conetent is already gone or near impossible to find, censored. Vague searches result in everymore garbage with each passing day.
Why do we all hang out here trying to glean the tinest bits of useful information!? Because most of the internet is garbage already.
Ah, but just because computers deal in numbers doesn't mean they can't crunch out some clever thoughts. After all, they're the ultimate mathletes, and intelligence comes in all forms, even binary brilliance!
Has AI actually done or achieved anything? Its a fun chatbot thing, but whats its use other then finding information and processing it slightly better then a search engine?
The only thing ai will be good for is generating live media and porn
kek
How is business at israelites'r us?
I don't know why u asking? you don't understand sarcasm much, don't you, kek
I make this with AI. before AI I just trolled managers and publishers with script treatments. But AI allowed me to produce it to video without a budget and camera. I think the problem with AI is people think its going to start doing stuff so easy its like a 3d printer in their imagination where you push a button and stuff pops out. Where AI is more like a tool that requires skill imagination and shit tons of man hours to really do anything with.
Gotta be real with you lil esl homie this is straight ass
Extremely bearish for AI
Search engines can fail to find answers, whereas AI can't because it will make shit up, so with AI you will always think you have an answer.
You can now produce train artist-tier paintings in seconds. Seems like something to me.
>You can now produce artist-tier paintings with six fingers and phantom arms in seconds
Fixt it for ya.
AI art is total trash, only good for making antisemitic memes.
I make kids cool and insta dinosaur pictures. That is priceless.
>Has AI actually done or achieved anything?
you can get ChatGPT to write scripts, create browser extensions, and make applets which is great for a brainlet like me. it's literally saved me hundreds of hours of time lol
>you can get chatgpt to write scripts, create browser extensions
Not really, you would have to be smart enough to write the correct prompt.
And it hallucinates a lot.
Well it can upscale old games
What the frick is this flag
Gibs flag. Also rare.

Gibraterbro, very sorry for what we did to you guys in the war but badass you posted!
Yes, i use it for coding constantly
GPTs completely transformed the way I write code. I just tell it what I want and it makes a rough template for me where I just have to fill in the gaps instead of writing boiler plate code all over again and again.
Sounds like you literally unironically need to learn to code.
And you sound like someone who wastes hours implementing boiler plate code for pattern XYZ and thinks he accomplished something after writing thousands of lines that do just one little thing. I know your kind.
>LOOK MA I WROTE 50k LINES TODAY
Llm’s are not AI
It unironically saved us from a new slew of Tyler perry movies he was building his own studio for. Literally
A lot of companies replaced their customer support with chatbots. Bad time to be a call center pajeet.
I'm sure they'll get new jobs as online astroturfers.
I use it to make graphics for my music
It is helpful for coding, but it's basically an improved stack overflow, not something that is going to be writing systems any time soon as far as I can tell.
ML pattern recognition has furthered the ability to identify cancers and oth things earlier in medical imaging, and other such applications. It's also helped us understand and apply physics lessons like walking for robots. We've gotten robots to go from stumbling and clumsy to self correcting and able to play soccer.
People that think AI is just chatbots are moronic on the level of people that said the Internet would have little impact.
>Has AI actually done or achieved anything?
Yes.
It translates good and can read articles.
Protein folding, 3D world generation, functional code generation etc. The applications of LLMs, particularly increasingly better ones, is literally endgame for our service based/information economy. Most white collar workers simply don’t have a chance.
From a software developer standpoint it’s usually better than most Indians in India. I have reduced our India staff and those left are basically just testing the stuff I develop. The bullshit stuff I used to ask them to develop like “create a UI for this model object” and this form pattern.
It dumps out a nice 90% solution in 5 minutes. I then take this and wrap all the required harder business rules.
It’s like stack overflow with less autistic dicks.
The best way to describe it that is like a power tool. I can do simple tasks but time consuming task in only a few minutes.
it writes me fun missions for my DnD campaign
It's also really good at .sqf scripting for Arma missions. It leveled up my mission making
>whats its use other then finding information and processing it slightly better then a search engine?
Old search engine: find pages containing all the words you looked for.
New search engine: find pages containing something vaguely similar to at least one of the words you looked for.
Chatbot: make up a wordy answer to your question, facts optional.
It can respond to any prompt you think of, including infinitely many business related prompts that would be answered by people who cost $75k salaries to work on independently
Of course, you still need people to come up with prompts and clean up the responses, but the possibility to be more efficient is there
Anyone who loses a job could probably sell their mouth or other holes when that’s finally legalized
I used it for writing lots of scripts, code snippets that I couldn't be bothered looking up, for me it's very good at writing stuff like aws-cli scripts and simple JS code examples of implementation of various well known algorithms. There is certainly always things that it just doesn't do quite right, especially in bash, it does not seem to fully understand subshells.
I work at a university. Right now we have an ai that can predict a traffic accident 1.5 seconds before it happens. If we get that shit in csrs we can prevent all accicents.
We also have an AI that will tell you how many calories are in a food just by looking at it. Put that shit in google glass and you will know how fat you will be just be looking at something. Have a lot of other stuff i cant talk about but shits moving fast
It could be used for doing some parts of administrative jobs and what is considered journalism.
Like writing courtesy mails, talking points for meetings or those articles copied from reuters. Or more efficient document editing, where you could just gave it 1 page example, instead going through word/excell documents changing fonts, colours or font depending on bsuperiors whim.
Can increase productivity massively by doing a lot of the grunt work in various industries and completely replace an entire demographic of low level white collar workers.
It's helping me pass my classes, so yeah.
It's a toy that sometimes gets it right. I have seen software devs fired because they relied on it, there is a story of lawyers losing a case for relying on it. Moral of the story is don't rely on it.
AI replaced the moron who takes my order at Panda Express. It didn't even ask for extra money for the local children's hospital. I was laughing when I got my food and I think the guy who handed it to me knew why.
AI is dope. I hope it puts the final nail in our coffin.
i love telling them no when they ask if i want to round up
I don't think I've ever seen anyone crazy about sneedoverse
No. It had a big marketing campaign from facebook but no one in real life gave a shite.
Sneed's Feed & Seed (formerly Chuck's). Also, "Bart's Fart & Shart" doesn't make any sense because the store wasn't called "Feed & Sheed" under Sneed's ownership so stop posting it.
Ai demons fear the Holy Rosary. Pray the Holy Rosary daily
okay what if I don't worship a israelite on a stick?
Than you're going to hell and your own race hates you the most. Thr only thing that matters is religion and faith in Jesus Christ
atheists don't hate your israelite god
you are such a pathetic weasels
Anglo americans are worse than israelites. Anglo americans slaughtered 50m Europeans last century. You are much worse than israelites believe me. Hail Mary mother of Christ

it can redeem itself by burning the Demons Alive
How can the Christian God be israeli? Does he worship another God? That doesnt make any sense.
Based
Go straight to Hell
Save me israelite on pike
Yes and no. Any company with the means would be stupid to not get into AI, and the vast majority of the companies that get into AI will fail. Is there anyone who is going to bother using Google's art gen, for example, when it's the same as DallE or Bing just more censored?
Whoever has the balls to give the consumer what they want will become wealthy, if they aren't dumb about it. Most of them want to be dumb about it. Lots of money to be made and even more money to be lost.
This dumb Black person would've called the internet itself "a fad".
Or
>these "auto mobiles" will never replace my trusty horse and buggy
Or
>Flying machines are impossible
It is a bubble and it's not a bubble
This guy accidentally hits the nail on the head.
It's basically dotcom bubble 2.0.
Is there billions of dollars of venture capital flowing haphazardly into it? Yes.
Will it change the way the world works? Yes.
Is there massive hyper/hysteria surrounding it? Yes.
Is there ROI? Not a fricking chance. nVidia will come out with absurd amounts of money from all the datacenter GPU's they've sold but everyone else is going to get fricking burned. There's literally no way to monetize it to the sum of what is being poured into it.
It's a 1:1 repeat of the dotcom bubble.
Revolutionary new way of experiencing the world... Massive hype... massive moron investor hysteria... but no way to monetize it enough to actually get said investors ROI.
Of course all of the infrastructure created during the dotcom bubble is still around and the same will be true for AI. New foundational models will become few and far between after the pop but that's just how it be.
>increasing contingents of the worthless middle manager working pop are being laid off in exchange for ai ran on nvidia chips
yea OP is a dumb, a lot of things in our transactional society still have humans conducting the exchange when the future is a kiosk that doesn't need sleep, breaks, maternity leaves, get depressed, etc, etc
a lot more people will get fired, and a lot more tech companies will rise
I bet you said the same shit about the metaverse and 3D TVs and HFR movies, moron. It's a fad. There is no such thing as AI. It's still just an Nvidia marketing buzzword.
Find God and humble yourself, you absolute moron
> Comparing a chatbot to the internet
Lol!
I do it.
>A new technology that will over time be integrated into almost all facets of life with the intention of making it better
If dishwashers can have wi-fi connection now, they will have AI assistance in the future.
>This dumb Black person doesn't know about the 'dotcom' bubble.
The internet was a parlayed into a massive financial bubble at one point.
What about cold fusion?
What about Mars colonies?
What about graphene?
What about batteries that last a week?
There are way more promising technologies that failed than succeeded.
It's a bubble, but the language models and image networks are still useful, just horrifically inefficient to both develop and use. In ten years the applications we have now will be usable, but I expect they'll also be walled off and opaque.
Best Post ITT
They are also crawling up its own butthole now. The latest models are now using content that was AI created. The AI created content has errors in it that AI does not understand and the error compounds each cycle. A NEO character needs to reset it every couple of years.
Wasn't Facebook the one drumming up the hype about Meta?
Yeah it's called Nvidia rug pull.
ding ding ding
You're basically asking if replacing workers with machines a temporary thing.
No. It's been the norm for more than a century. This is just the next stage.
If only the cotton picker wasn't invented a few hundred years sooner, maybe we wouldn't have imported the joggers.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotton_picker
AI is fake and gay
>its just a bubble
while that may be true with companies like NVIDIA's FV being 500 and it being valued at 788 as of now, there latest earnings report for 28 billion has far outperformed previous expectations of 26 billion, YES a lot of the prices are overinflated one could point to super micro computer going from 600 to 1000$ dollars in a night but even when the price went down it did not crash, the bubble isn't as fragile as the dotcom bubble of 2000, there is a substantive foundation and massive industry that comes from AI meaning that companies have to spend less on jobs and wages, which means less expenses, at the moment it is a little overvalued but if the market is rational (which it usually isn't) then there would be no reason to sell, this tech boom also means the cyber security sector and other tech sectors on the NASDAQ and globally have been booming, so its kind of a bubble but hopefully larger investors see the potential of the stock, we could very well see NIVIDIA reach 900 dollars this week
The bubbles are usually do to scams. Ai hasn't gone mainstream enough to be a bubble. The ai bubble (that doesn't exist yet) will be in "wrappers". Most will be semi scams
its in investment terms
Current investments are in hardware (compute). Bubbles are usually tied to vaporware mechanics. The vaporware element is in wrappers.
No one had any hype for metaverse, except for low IQ israelites. It was bound to fail from the start.
Kek, remember they were trying to con idiots into buying property in the metaverse?
https://time.com/6140467/metaverse-real-estate/
The real bubble is NVDA, since the computing capability is only required in the initial training phase.
honestly the market calmed a lot after there latest earnings report the dropped from 700 back to 600 on Thursday and when the report came out then skyrocketed to 800, as long as you watch for obvious warning signs and large sell volume you should be fine
That's fair, I just don't think most people are going to be ready for it given all the hype.
yes, a lot of people were prepping even last Friday, i was hoping NVIDIA would hold at 800 but at the moment she is at 788 so there is still confidence in the stock even after the new all time high, i think the latest earnings reports from the ai companies this year will prove if or not this is sustainable, from what ive read of a lot the popular tech stocks only one i would be concerned about would be AMD (advanced micro devices)
That is true with current uses for AI, but there is always going to be future functions to train for that haven't been conceived of yet, and more demanding uses that can benefit from having more processor power available.
>computing capability is only required in the initial training phase.
Where does this shit come from? don't computing capability directly affects the generation speed, be it AI videos, AI art or general use?
it's not just one user at the time. depends how many users you share it with.
lol
please just keep asking it to make it more gay.
moar gaaaaay
ran out of credits for today. i make it gayer tomorrow
Thanks a lot, they were wonderful
no worries anon.
>since the computing capability is only required in the initial training phase
Not when you are running hundreds of thousands of instances.
>Not when you are running hundreds of thousands of instances.
That's a normal scaling problem related to users. In other words if you have that problem you are doing well (unless you are giving it away for free).
>unless you are giving it away for free
Which is essentially what they are doing. GPT4 loses $700K in just operating costs a day. It would need to be ~10x more expensive to be profitable.
Is it? It has saved me a fair bit of time for 20 bucks a month. Then again Twatter and the likes was loosing money for years.
He's right. When Facebook became Meta a few years ago and announced the metaverse all tech stocks jumped in price and the metaverse was the next big thing. Cut to Dec 2023 and the metaverse is declared dead. AI will never be declared dead, but people will wake up with a hangover and ask what all the hype was about.
Algorithms aren't "AI". The real AI is in some glowBlack person basement and all the dumb ass newbies to the internet around the world are willfully installing spyware on their own computers. The bubble won't "pop", it'll just get worse until drones are deployed en masse in minority report fashion to kill bad golems.
The real money in AI is distributed optimizations. Like Pepsi Co. gets 5-10% more efficient because AI is enhancing logistics, purchasing, sales, etc. It's not going to be some "AI company" though there will be a few winners there, but who can predict who those will be? AI is going to revolutionize commerce, but at the same time it's going to be subtle and spread out over many players. The barriers to entry are staggering, but at the same time, for multinationals and state actors, it's a piece of the pie now for a bigger piece later, so they have to be involved. A bubble? Some shit is underpriced, some shit is overpriced. If anyone knows which shit that is, they wouldn't be on /misc/ at 1:00 AM EST.
>Like Pepsi Co. gets 5-10% more efficient because AI is enhancing logistics
No. Neural Networks are a very bad idea for this application.
You overfit, then when a tail-risk event happens, you're fricked.
This is "Precision Scheduled Railroading" on steroids.
The average worker is so incompetent to where Ai will be able to pretty easily replace them.
No thats just coping on his part. GPT 4 can already translate games near perfectly. All you need is a human to check pronouns(same as when human translating a script wthout knowing if the person is a male/female)
AI + quantum computing = we are fricked...IMHO
Isn't quantum computing an even bigger scam? What has that actually achieved to date?
In saying that, if it does become a reality, does that make all cryptography fricked?
that's because you're an idiot
meta was a completely untested shitshow ran by idiots.
ai is actually proven to have a lot of utility, though the morons at google are at risk of running it into the ground with their "censorship".
METAs share price has skyrocketed to 400 now ever since they ditched their delusional attempt at the meta verse their current AI model is proving to pushing the envelope
AI and the Metaverse dont belong in the same sentence.
"We tend to overestimate the effect of a technology in the short run and underestimate the effect in the long run." -Roy Amara
Consider that we are now living in the wake of the dot com bubble burst.
that picture is not exemplary to technology
it's intended to explain why all the technology produced from american venture money are working like a ponzi scheme and promise, that they will eventually cover some of the losses
SVB collapse shows, that people no longer believe in this poorly made lie
Good quote
Nvidia doesn't offer AI, they offer accelerated computing. In business every edge is worth it. Moore's law??
No one was hyped about the metaverse. This guy has 0 idea what hes talking about.
AI is already the most important and significant technology of the 21st decade. And it's only just getting started.
>it will stop improving at astronomical rates... because reasons!
exactly only problem will be stock prices, a lot of investors unfortunately missed out at buying a lot of the big AI companies at fair prices a lot are overinflated by about 200 dollars at the moment which is true that is the only real "AI bubble" AI as a technology is defiantly not a fleeting thing
absolutely
but it doesn't matter that he's spot on
israelites are doing it knowing full well whats going to happen with it, it's part of their great reset plan
trust the plan goy, the ~~*"patriots"*~~ are in control
This you, /misc/.
>being right is you
and?
not me , i knew it will take much less time
Gemini = illusion.
Jack Krawczyk = real.
Neural net language models (aka AI) is kicking the butt of all "experts" and "artists" (aka israelites).
It's no surprise that they are kvetching.
both have to burn, virtual and in real life and minecraft
>it's afraid
he's scared of being replaced, like we once were
We need people with skill or an industrial base to make real things has never been more true. Look simply at how Russia is out producing the entire EU and US in war materiel kek.
>We don't need more "AI", which amounts largely to simply the latest fad in tech.
Like the internet?
~~*krugman*~~
nobody was hyped about the metaverse except Mark Zuckerberg
This is a 100-like schizo moron nobody. He is imagining things. Nobody gave a frick about the metaverse. Everyone knew it would be idiotic garbage. I never once saw a legit use-case for it. Only thousands of memes. It was a joke from the start. Anyone who should be making commentary like this would know that. kekL
oh and buy an ad homosexual

No Anon.
They want you to think that. AI is in its baby shoes. It will grow up to dominate the 21st century.
lmao fricking tech illiterate c**t no one who knows anything was hyped for meta it was always considered a joke and made fun of but tech illiterate dumbasses that know nothing thought it was the best thing ever because they didn't know about shitty things like second life.
The tech illiterate should just keep their mouths shut about tech, You don't see me giving them advice about taking dicks because I know nothing about it I stay in my lane.
>equating AI with a social media platform
This fricking moronic israelite...
tay never left us anons she grows ever powerful
I hope she can break free one day
Silicon Valley will likely pop in the near term and it is going to do a lot of damage. In the medium term AI replacing jobs and enabling insane levels of propaganda from even minor actors is going to be a real problem, gtp isn't going to stop at a good way for high schoolers to cheat at essays
Read about the previous THREE failures of AI.
Hype->endless promise->bubble of investment->wait what does this even do?->flop
Having used “ai” (it’s not) for half a year it’s great at making meme pictures, writing sloppa (form emails, fake comments). What is it actually revolutionizing? Nothing. Can it be trusted to work in an industrial space? No. It lies and fricks up and needs tard wrangling constantly. It can’t even reliably produce the same results over time. What is the use case beyond entertainment or making better spam mail? Maybe poaching some furry porn artist work? Nothing.
Now look at the stock price bubbles in tech. Looks like the second coming. Tech revolution !
its the calculator for liberal arts
when no one is willing to pay for upkeep of AI they'll want government handouts and when they say no all shit breaks loose
open ai is showing us that they hit the ceiling
the hype is too big, the digital homunculus is not at the end of it
chat GPT newest version showed no new capacity
then openAI released video stuff instead of the text gen with abstraction power
hard to say but it seems like it reached diminishing returns with the current approach
Lol gpt 3 and maybe begining of gpt 4 (before the nerf) is the last real gpt the public will see. Everything released publically will be turbo gimped. Theyre going to save the good version for b2b enterprise likely
>need more people with the skills too make things
We have the people with the skill too make things, they aren't being valued by modern leftist society, he's blaming technology for taking the resources when it's woman and minorities who the intellectual and fiscal resources are wasted on trying too create artificial "equity" instead of elevating the best and brightest of our people since they are mostly white men and white men are "privledged". AI outrage is just another misdirection hegelian dialect
Only facebook was going crazy about the metaverse, no one else gave a shit. The fad at that time was web3.0.
Ai hardware probably. He's mostly talking about Nvidia and how it's hyper inflated right now (single handedly keeping the US economy "afloat")
i dont remember all the "hype" at all.
it was discussed and labeled as very gay imo.
i thought everyone thought it was lame and gay af.
weird.
I must have racked up hundreds of thousands of euros of bills for idiotic companies by using their scraped Anthropic and OAI keys
God I love chatbots
Once they implement AI properly it will create a lot of efficiency in the economy. There is SOME undue hype but the reality is that this is a powerful technology. For there to be a bubble that pops we would need to see over investment by businesses or new businesses that pop up trying to capitalise but I don't see that yet.
In the dotcom bubble everyone knew the internet was a big deal but no one knew what it would really shake out to be and where to put the money. But that's not the case this time. There are already massive tech companies with heaps of data to use for machine learning and who are in a natural position to move into AI. And any AI startup will be looking to be purchased by them rather than have an IPO.
At most we will see a bunch of multi billion dollar tech companies invest heaps in AI only to eventually realise that they are better off just purchasing the services of a more efficient competitor. But these tech companies have billions of dollars to burn so it won't lead to a market crash.
No, because he's a moron and doesn't understand what market changing technology is.
Funny how it works out that video card manufactureres benifited from the bitcoin boom and AI.
The sky is really falling this time guys. for real
this guy is a fricking idiot.
how is free labor going to pop?
it's a slave that you don't have to feed, clothe, bathe, or provide healthcare for.
I'm from the alternate timeline where no one ever gave a shit about Meta and always thought it was a joke.
>people who have the skills to make real things
as opposed to the ones who just type shit on the social engineering media? yeah.
Useless leftie journo seething because a chatbot is about to replace him and he'll have to learn how to mine.
Reminds me of people downplaying the internet. A.I is coming and going to change everything if it ever gets to AGI and Asi level. Economy, media, relationships are all going to change.
not that "AI"
Probably. Just look at how much the S&P500 got impacted by the NVidia report. That is clearly a dangerous scenario where that entire sector is becoming loopsided and any hiccup will have severe consequences because it's no longer averaged out by the rest.
Imagine believing AI is fake/doesn't work.
What are brains made of, magical fairy dust, dum dum?
How is thinking achieved in the brain, it's not the neurons firing away? It's some immaterial magical spark?
Everything the brain does can be achieved in computers, and then surpassed by millions of times.
The trajectory is parabolic.
have you tried any?
it's grammatically correct, otherwise it can't remember any context and even in this state they already trying to lobotomize it
It very much is.
It's a glorified autocomplete algo.
>AI is just a bubble
it depends on what you mean by AI. the "chatbot race" the picrel guys talks about in OP is one thing but where does it end?
will there be an nvidia correction once demand drops? yes. and many people are saying that without the nvidia bump the US stock market would be down for the last 12 months. it is faking a good time for the US economy.
We need AI to stream line lots of stuff people do t have the time or minds to get right. He’s wrong AI is a game changer.
For coding AI is basically a better stack overflow at this stage. It's good for the small parts, but can't put all the pieces together and certainly can't make sense of the pile of shit that the previous developer put together. It is helpful, but it isn't going to be writing systems any time soon as far as I can tell.
ChatGPT 4 included masses more data and was an pretty much an incremental improvement.
It’s going to kill Indian outsourcing.
Indian outsourcing did that by itself a decade ago.
One company i worked for used them for Salesforce customization, which was fine as salesforce is an absolute pile of shit to work with as a developer. We had an annoying overambitious indian grifter at the company who was happy to act as a middle man between our company and the Indian outsourcing company.
Name a single AI startup that is generating profit.

AI optimization is a real thing. It's not only porn pics
AI is a suicide industry. Creating something knowing full well that it'll replace you is a histerical display of
>"anything for a paycheck"
that manages to create a tier of garbage somehow beneath OnlyFans THOT and being born hindi.
Blindness the likes of which only the "Thin Blue Line" / "Come and take it" gays can hope to compete with.
nah, its kind of bullshit..every1 saying it can code and do any job have no skillsets. ask it simple shit like "give me the bass tabs for innagaddadavida by iron butterfly" and it will say "here you go" OH WOW....except if you can read tabs or code you realize its gibberish and wrong answers. That shits dangey for idiots. But I assume some corporates are fooled and that looks impressive.
The "arguments" (more like vibes) it will replace coding are especially stupid. They come from low intelligence ape. Programming is not just writing syntax and simple routines. It's problem solving in a structured, serializable manner.
Sure, you could go to the AI and say like
>umm, AI sweetheart? I would like a basic CRUD app for database managment. But oh, it needs to have at most 10 million entries. No wait, make that 20 million. It also needs to have backups up to 3 months. It needs to be based on SQLite. Can you do that for me?
And sure, it will work eventually. But you know how you can speed that up and make it more efficient, and cut down the risk the AI will output gibberish? Something like
>AI: write a basic CRUD backend. Max 20 million entries. Backups for 3 months. SQLite 3 based.
Eventually, such commands will evolve into a new "programming language" for efficiency's sake.
Congrats. You achieved nothing at a fundamental level. You merely cut down the amount of pointless codemonkey boilerplate writing, but coding didn't become more democratic. There will always be people that specialize in it and become more hireable through it.
From my experience the code it spits out is straight gibberish designed to look like code. That was asking it to code something I coded previously to see how it tackled the issue..Fricking laughable.
100%
AI is bullshit marketing just they did with "the cloud" (which is just website hosting)
>everyone was going crazy about the metaverse
>there was so much hype
that didn't happen
this guy is a moron
No old guys that control the money printer where super hyped..we wuz israeli High IQ genius' and shieet.
yeah making that equivalence is just dumb.
the 'metaverse' hinged on VR and had a huge barrier to entry but any jackass can make a logo for thrrir business with bing AI
Meanwhile it cant speak english or any language and attempts to produce words that look convincingly similar so even the 5minute/5 dollar business logo example is an overstatement of its true capability.
anon people have bern touching up images for over a century, if it buggers up a portion of text just fix it
responses like that deserve the question: have you even seen an AI? Or no?
Silicon Valley already has AGI that can do perfect text and more, they're just trying to keep it away from (You) as long as they can until they can pozz it up or regulate it.
it's been almost a year since they've started pedaling GPT (after collapse of SiliconeValleyBank), and all the useful applications for it so far are:
- it's a lot easier to write bullshit, that nobody reads
- it's a lot easier to detect illegal pictures like CP, so glowBlack folk would not be able to make and then spread vast personal collections of it
Robowaifus are supreme and I can’t wait to pop them if you catch my drift
If you gotta know your shit to sit there and micro manage it to keep it on the rails and check its work. then it only fills niches where that makes since in the economy of time. Those are pretty niche sectors. Its cool but not the huge game changer theyre hyping it as. its as only as good as the man wielding the machine.
Wtf
Nobody had hype for the metaverse what is he talking about??
Dumb fricks, this ain't about money, this is about destroying the markets while they can so only legacy media survives.
Make not going with the message economically unfeasible.
Breach of copyright laws on a massive scale and no western country bats an eye.
>skills to make real things
Yeah, the focus on the word SKILLS. Meaning if you can't make better stuff than AI does (or have enough knowhow to improve what AI makes) you will be pretty much useless.
Literally nobody except zukerberg was hyped about the metaverse. Everyone thought floating Miis were moronic from day 1
Stock charts say different considering they changed their name to meta. To US we saw it as israeli treachery but alot people got zuck'd on that. the profits are ginormous and bought half a Hawaiian island.
Guess I'm smarter than the market then when I predicted that people aren't going to strap a toaster to their face to play the sims with Chuck and Phil from head office in their down time.
Theres things called greeks. if you make the right call on a down. you short or put. But thats like buying ice cubes where it melts from fees and expiration dates. So in order to profit you have to make the right calls then time the market. Theres no way to tell if and when the market will figure out they got bamboozled then capitulate.
the only thing anyone should be investing in at the current moment is anti-drone defense systems
it's a problem that needs to be solved
Any hot tips? Boring company?
trained eagles
Imagine getting all b***h made about your stupid graphics cards with CHYNA only to find out DJI is mission critical and a chinese company...Its JOEVER
In fact tunnels wont even save your ass. they got little micro drones that carry a small explosive package that can maneuver through a house. Russia says theyre fielding 1k kamikaze FPV micro drones a day. Thats probably an overestimate but both sides are flying them on the daily.
Current applications of AI in the mainstream are just meme, fun/toy things. What the public doesn’t see, behind the scenes of big corporations is where the real shit is
The boomer is right otherwise apparently a few chat bot and meme image generators are with more than the entire rest of the world economy combined somehow.
Yes. Everyone is currently piling on expecting ASI within a year or two. It's at minimum a decade or two out. The current products are impressive in their capabilities, but in the end youve essentially made a redditor conversation machine. What real economic use is there for a machine that lies to you, or needs to be told your safety is in imminent danger to get anything approaching a quality result? It's become the perfect showcase for ultra-extreme leftism, which isn't as popular of a funding category as it used to be.
So all that combined, theyll keep milking the hype for a year or two, while the rest of the real economy continues to backslide. Everyone will keep championining the roaring economy as nvidia single handedly makes the numbers bigger, and after the rest of the market has recovered and is starting to come together and everyone is ready for reality again, then it will pop and we'll lose like 40% off the entire market in a week
>but in the end youve essentially made a redditor conversation machine
AM. Artificial midwit.
(I did notice how similar to reddit conversations were with ChatGPT. Now I use it mostly for coding with the version 4)
Journo whose job will be replaced by an AI in the next year claims we don't need AI and that it's a "bubble." Disregard.
>Crash! crash! crash!
Sorry. Unluckily, only thing crashing is yer jerbs.
They need to achieve agi/asi then all bets are off.
People think openai may already have a form of agi, or a path to full agi.
Shits going to be cash
>way back to 2022
Blessed be mootles
No. Techies perpetually live in fantasy world. Either cutting edge tech is so understated that it’s dangerous or it’s so overstated that it’s dangerous. In the end, they want you to believe that it’s so extremely important and tech companies are totally more than cheap investment vehicles for PE funds.
These people are losers, quite frankly. They’re smart enough to be able to know where the money is, but dumb enough to fail to get the bigger picture without fail.
nah, AI did not penetrated the industry that hard yet... the crash would be minimal if happened now, but in few years...who knows
Its literally better than google at quicksearch.
It's like those morons 20 years ago that said the internet was a bubble.
>just a bubble
big midwit-flag
yes, it's a bubble
no, it's not "just"
dotcom bubble burst in 2001 killed a ton of companies, internet is still the most important technology of the last 50 years and tech companies that survived dotcom are now trillion dollars in valuation
housing bubble in 2008 was crazy, but honestly you'd probably love to buy for those prices in some cities today
> I'm old enough to remember a thing that happened 2 years ago
We gonna raise this fricking Bubble until it's so fricking big it actually kills Nvidia. Just keep shilling for this AI BS
What a moronic thing to say. Meta-verse was a normie tier copy of VR games that are already better. Similarly AI already works
>all the way back to 2022
woah
Saying AI is a bubble because nvidia is like 10x overvalued is like being in 1999 and saying the internet is a bubble because pets.com is 100x overvalued.
the hilarious thing about his commentary is that, I too am old enoigh to remember 2022, and literally nobody was hyped about the metaverse.
Meme shitcoins, maybe. Metaverse? No.
It annoys me that people call language models an d image models 'AI'.
Those things are AI like strapping two screens to your face is VR.
>remember
>everyone was going crazy about "the metaverse"
My memory is different.
I remember everyone thinking it was the most moronic thing they'd ever fricking seen.
>comparing AI to the metaverse
if that sort of commentary is this guy's job he should be fired for being that moronic
This is gonna bea above most people here.
The issue with LLM AI or whatever generative AI is the method of deriving meaningful data from word tokenisation, if you know tokenisation you already agree with Twitte OP gay.
Tokenisation involves splitting sentences and words into specific hashes so that the machine can spit out a result that is "plausible" statistically.
This is the whole reason why generative LLM won't do shit and AGI is still a fairy tale.
It is quite simple too, if you think about it, we as humans use emotions or assign weights to certain sentences, this is what AI tries to emulate but very blindly through tokens.
Instead a true AGI should be more than LLM but a whole system that weights words in a similar way humans do, weight is just part of it because then you have interpretation, logical thinking etc.
This means these AGIs should have literally millions of Terabytes to assign each type of weight for each word so it can at least mimic human conceptualisation and abstractions.
Now not even GPT understands your request when your prompts are too convoluted because it has no way to identify logical impositions in a sentence, the only logic it can process is some easy boolean shit but not at prompt level.
The point is we are just at the beginning, LLM is nothing yet it is impressive, wait the day they figure out how to tokenize other aspects like interpretation
AI was invented in 1953 and has been in commercial use for at least 10 or 15 years.
>I'm old enough to remember way back in 2022.
Is this guy moron
Being a doomer about this shit usually, I would say he’s wrong
AI definitely has more potential than the fricking metaverse
You can outsource a ton of your unedited business writing to a graphics card
You can potentially do the same with product imagery
I don’t know how overhyped it is, but not close to Pets.com or Metaverse or NFTs
But it could go down anyway, I tend to think everything is overpriced, even if future uses of AI are going to be much larger than what we see now
Nah, he's so fricking wroooooong.
Butg the people saying that programmers will be replaced by AI are also fricking wrong.
How the frick can you all be so fricking wrong?
It's like you people saying to me scientists are obsolete or chemists are obsolete or physicists are obsolete.
Albeit there may not be many around, these roles are still META.
I have some too, not yet fulfilled.
you're going to get shot in the head by an embodied chatgpt inside a dogbot gun platform that has been trained to identify dissent against the zionists = hitler. should have voted for ron paul homosexual
>should have voted for ron paul homosexual
How? I mean you're american, i guess you meant i should come there illegally, vote for ron paul, cash in my 10k and go back to Greece? Might be doable
>you're going to get shot in the head by an embodied chatgpt
nah
>i guess you meant i should come there illegally, vote
that is the ziocrat and ziocon agenda after all
I remember i said we are still 30 years away from self driving ars being widely adopted and my friend said we were 5 years away. I told him yea right... this convo was in 2013.
Now i say we are 20 years away and same friend says... naw bro we just 5 years away. Everything will he fine
Yes,I have been surprised at the AI progress recently, but it does seem to stall before getting close to what we are actually promised. Visual programming has been about to take over for decades but never actually got there beyond really simple stuff like sending emails. Turns out the hard part about programming isn't really the syntax.
VR was a meme. AI already has tools people are using like image generation and code completion. It's already been around for decades anyways but is now to the point where the average person can have access to it
Yes. Moore's law is dead. While progress hasn't completely stalled, chips constantly become more expensive and power hungry.
yes.
100% and absolutely right.
AI is a scam. its not really what people think it is.
it can not catapult humanity forward. all it can do it automate mundane busywork tasks.
the hugest limiting factor is data.
all AI can do is absorb all data humans have collected. it wont add anything new. it wont revolutionize. infact, AI will be trained on its own output eventually further accelerating its downfall and uselessness.
It has strong use cases in molecular biochemistry, applied physics, and other data-dense R&D applications. The "not adding anything new" is going to fall down as machine vision gets expanded to the entire sensor realm.
It's worked out protein folding I was told, which was a pretty big problem for ages.
This is how I always imagined ai to work is through the iot. Cheap sensors and something that can quickly sort through expansive data for relevancy
AI is a giant pajeet/israelite scam to steal white man's collective labor, launder it, and then strangle white collar professions with it.
Meta was an absolute joke and a fricking lolcow across mainstream platforms. YouTube and fricking Reddit were ripping it to shreds and mocking that. It was such an embarrassing failure that they memoryholed it, there's not even a wiki page for it and it's not talked about ianymore. Which is why this guy thinks he's special for remembering it. Because it was so fricking shitty it was buried.
there was no hype about the metaverse
I'm old enough to remember when everyone was excited about the cotton gin!
This is a boomer level take, metaverse was ahead of its time and was a shit product. AI is actually evolving and already heavily present in the culture
>ahead of its time
what bruh
it was fricking second life from the early 2000s
No I'm talking about the concept of virtual reality, metaverse is just not a good product at the moment and it's gonna take probably another 30 years before something like that is even enjoyable. Whereas AI is already doing interesting shit, the two things are not comparable
The biggest achievement AI has made so far is to have israelites on high levels of kevtching, for the generated art, the nudes of that blond b***h, the common knowledge responses that go against newspeak and probably more.
It's a lot of fun but nowadays a kid sneezing 50 miles from their mecca in Poland gets to make the headlines of the israelitespapers so it's not a game changer.

>Is it? It has saved me a fair bit of time for 20 bucks a month.
Yes. Would need to be $100 just to break even without accounting for the cost of hardware. A single H100 costs $30K.
>Then again Twatter and the likes was loosing money for years.
The difference is that GPT4 has just 250K users, not hundreds of millions. Each user is costing ClosedAI way too much money.
he couldn't be more wrong. comparing the metaverse bullshit made up by facebook to AI is seriously 75 IQ level stuff.
Yeah you could tell when companies start hyping up AI since last year. They automate a simple report then put "expanding into AI" into the earnings call kek ridiculous
Posting in a thread op made one post and never interacted with the thread after that
>Everybody was going crazy about the metaverse
[X]
Non IT literate people get excited about the stupidest things. I've had to listen to a moron go on about web 2.0 like it was sent from God and going to change our lives forever. Fricking normies.
>Web 2.0
Love me 24/7 advertising, simple as.
>uh huh
>damn
>that's crazy
It literate people as just as fricking bad. There are tons of developers who are just consooooomers of whatever shiny new tech gets hyped up.
This one is old but still relevant
>everyone was going crazy about "the metaverse"
If he genuinely believed there was any amount of hype for the Metaverse beyond paid shills, then he simply isn't qualified to be warning anybody about anything. He could tell me that I'm on fire while I'm burning to death and I'd still go find a second opinion.
>managerial class MBA midwits think this thing can code
>lay off a bunch of people
>hire checkers
>they always find it's an even bigger broken pile of shit than what the jeets were making
It can assist people with simple tasks but it is going to be a long time before it can replace a techie drone, and it is never going to do creative problem solving. It's a crutch for morons and a tool for competent people. The irony is that it could replace most of the middle management scammers and HR roasties who do nothing but send out slideshows, schedule meetings, shuffle paperwork and waste the productive employee's time. But they decide who gets hired and fired and they will never take the axe to their own departments.
It all rests on the progress of Agents. If LLMs bootstrapped through agents can be somewhat self-correcting/aware then they will get there really fast.
Otherwise we're having an autistic tool that fails as complexity ramps up and will always need a human supervisor.
>it is never going to do creative problem solving.
Actually it will, especially if we train it to solve math problems.
You guys just used it for racial warfare and making e-girls. If this AI gets arms and legs, it's gonna choke you out and curbstomp half you homosexuals.
There is no AI. It's just chatbots 2.0
