AI art literally restored my interest in drawing. Its just so fun to draw along with the ai, copy it, fiix mistakes ir just use it for inspiration.

If anything, drawing from AI is more ethical than referencing other people's existing artwork or photo-references, as there is no infringement involved. Just an artist replicating the result of a computer prompt.

Personally, I just enjoy that with AI i can prototype a lot of concepts without the need to draw thumbnails which makes the process way faster. Sure, thumbs are fast, but not as fast and easy as AI.

I think there was already a lot of very uncreative "art" out there as is before AI where people would just draw whatever the flavor of the month anime girl is in some uninspired pose and then panhandle on Twitter/Pixiv with it. My understanding is that it's mainly these people that are seething about AI art since now their meal ticket is in jeopardy, but I doubt the actual artists out there are all that mad about it.
Haven't thought of this use for AI art, but it's great that people found this use for it. I find that it's also great for placeholder art in games (tabletop or vidya).

This. I've seen one artist with a coding day job do this exact thing even, just sketches the backgrounds and has ai fill in the rest, while he focuses on the main topic of what he draws.

Getting into 3D modelling and VFX has been a dream I've carried for a while. Been doing some stuff on my dogshit PC as well.
Only now did I manage to get a decent PC and already discouraged to progress as it feels inevitable that AI will take over 3D work as well.
My dermatologist complained that they got some AI that you can send a photo to and gives better diagnosis than most derms.
I have no real marketable skill either, especially none that won't get fucked by AI.
Doesn't help that I'm close to being a cripple so anything that can't be automated due to a need for labor (electricians, plumbers etc.) are out of the question as I'm physically unable to do it.

Image generation is fine, the issue is where the data is sourced. It's messed up to obsolete someone with something trained on their work without their permission or any compensation for them. If the data was ethically sources there would be no problem.
