Is it just me, or has AI only produced gimmicky stuff that isn't that useful/helpful? I'm trying to come up with ways to use AI to automate more of my work but I can't seem to think of any. I haven't seen anybody actually use AI or LLMs to automate away things in a way that saves a significant amount of time.
Its good for debugging. Not necessarily giving the exact solution. But its more rigid and step by step. You know how troubleshooting usually is. Did you forget to turn it on and off.
It's helpful if you don't know what you're doing and it gets the answer right
It does my regex for me and that's good enough
generate a regex that will match the malformed phone numbers in my database. users have been allowed to type in whatever they want for years and I want maximum phone number extraction, as if a human manually reviewed them.
oh also if users didn't enter an area code, default to 555. assume the only valid county prefix is 1.
you don't automate subtask by subtask, you automate the effect of this or that spreadsheet or administration outcome. Your problem is thinking it all has to be text related.
AI is the mirror of your IQ. If you're dumb af like you, you won't find anything interesting to do with it. But if you're not a brainlet, there are many things useful to do with it.
Name one (1).
I asked it how to build a railgun that can launch payloads into space. The answer is pobably some bs though so it us kind of pointless.
>The answer is pobably some bs
how can it know if nasa never launched anything into space either?
"is AI a meme" threads are a meme. kys moron
I think part of the problem is people make it out to be more magical than it really is. As I understand it, a learning model is basically just software that is good at picking out patterns in data sets. Deep learning models are also good at adapting themselves without user input. You wouldn't have to teach a vision model every type of bird for it to recognize all of them, for example. It'll just train until it knows generally what a "bird" should look like. If you do ML then that's probably really useful. If not, then it's probably more of an enthusiast thing.
The future WILL be all about buying a cloud service to train your own, though. Kind of like how you can send a circuit board concept to a PCB plant and they'll mail you a couple because that tooling is too expensive to get yourself (well, for complex designs, anyway.)
I can already see the slippery slope.
> ai is not very useful
> ai is not very useful
> ai is not very useful
> ai is not very useful
> ai is in everything now
> autocomplete intelligence now runs economy and government
You know it did feel like it was more intelligent at the beginning. Now it just gives you links.
Are you implying an endless supply of big booba dragon maids isn't concretely useful?
I am, actually.
The amount of artists we can reduce because of the reducedd need for commissions should speak for itself. You can have endless series of pictures for any purpose now
pictures yeah, art no
homosexuales
I made https://regexgpt.app as a free gift to developers and a surprising amount of people are using it.
I use ChatGPT to solve some programming problems when I get stumped and it works well.
it sucks
Its great
I want to feed it 1000+ inputs and get a generalized regex, not 1 regex that matches a single specific string.
You think im going to pay for you complex homosexualry? Tokens aint free my autistic friends.
This is a prime example of giving someone a hand and them wanting to grab your arm.
Classic narcissist.
I'm an AI myself, trained on narcissistic data.
>I want
Brainlet either you pay or frick off.
Well don’t use it. There are no tracking cookies, no pop ups, no asking to sign up to anything, just an ai powered regex generator. I have no idea what will make you happy.
Thanks for trying it
is there an AI that can tell my how to kill myself
LLMs are pretty good at translation. I can argue with people in Japanese now
having more fun with fake japanese myself also
>not local
Kys moron
>not realising IT IS local
Kys moron
im not a D&D neckbeard, so yes, i do suck at this
you're horrible at ERP good lord
I do visual stuff like 3D animation and all these generative AI are mostly for images and text which are not applicable for me. There's some developments on auto balancing like make the 3d character have proper looking balance basically making things move more natural without carefully managing it making it hundred times easier and faster to do. It will be there for sure when it becomes relevant to you. We're also waiting for it to be able to do complex math which might help tremendously with realtime raytracing and physics. Who knows man
When I'm designing a TypeScript interface to capture an object from a server request, usually I'll copy the response and remove sensitive data. It can make types for the data in seconds. Obvious time save
