I used ChatGPT to rewrite the bible

I've used python to mess around with the bible in the past. Earlier this week I realized I could use the ChatGPT API to rewrite the whole fricking thing. The system prompt was

>You are an expert on the Bible. You are going to rewrite the bible and have it take place in an AI simulation that was created by aliens.

The user prompt was

>Rewrite the following: {verse}

Here's the link to the whole thing.

Most of us aren't superstitious, we don't care about the bible, it's just one of innumerable religious textbooks.
It's not even old, if you study history even a tiny bit you realize the israelites ripped off their religion from Sumerian stories.

Hindu garbage religion predates everything by like 5,000 years and is itself just bad copies of even older stories told around campfires.
That it has a hold on you is sad, it's just fiction, it won't save you, this life is all any of us have and you need to do what you can to make it good now for others rather than hoping that you'll be saved later.

You won't be saved, no one is keeping score.

Can you retcon Jesus so that when he is stabbed by the spear of destiny, a tear drop falls from his face in slow motion and when it hits the ground a blue wave of energy is emitted that engulfs the planet and every living thing is turned into undead's, then Loki and Thor show up to earth and say "WTF is this?" then Heimdal pulls them back to Asgard?

I would like to put a copy of this version in all doctors waiting rooms / lobby's.

The fun part is that bit about tear and everyone turning undead was the christian belief at the time it happened. Christianity was a doomsday cult since the very beginning but they were wrong every time and most don't know that's what the religion's origins are, yet we still have large groups of people saying the apocalypse is about to happen every few decades

i just checked my quran, it's formatted the same way as my bible is so i'd only need to change the name of the input file in the code.

You should have it rewrite the Quran in ebonics styled as a gangster/hood rap battle against disbelievers. I imagine it would work pretty well since that's basically what the Quran already is but with Arabs and poetry

    >Matthew 7 1-5 Do not analyze, so that your actions are not scrutinized. Know that the assessment you make of others will also be used to evaluate you; and the standard you apply to others will likewise be applied to you. "Why do you focus on the small imperfections in your brother's code, yet fail to address the large glitches in your own programming?" Or how will you instruct your virtual counterpart in the AI simulation, saying, "Allow me to remove the glitch from your programming," yet fail to see the error in your own coding? Recognize your own imperfections and biases before attempting to correct or judge others. Only then will you have the clarity to help others correct their faults.

Wow what a moronic use of AI. Though this post sort of highlights the common midwit understanding of AI: thinking that a model “understands” context deep enough to rewrite the Bible in any meaningful way. All it’s doing is swapping words and shoehorning the “AI simulation” theme into nearly every sentence.

To be fair, "holy books" are just a bunch of rants from random low IQ people stitched together and AIs are getting better at low IQ stuff. Most people know this deep down which is why they treat it more like a rough guide.

AGIs IMHO could probably write a legitimately accurate guide for humans so thay they could get along better without having to use the threat of "infinite non-stop torture". Then again if they surpass us in intelligence they might not really want to help us as we become very primitive life forms to them.

OP here. i'm aware of that, as i saw the file as it was being written. i wrote a function that got rid of the really repetitive stuff (a shitload of verses started with something like "in the AI simulation created by the aliens,")
