You should also be familiar with the Producer/Consumer pattern and its implementations such as PubSub or Message Queueing.
One technique for writing a program is to write it in pseudo code comments first, then implement it for real. That is how I wrote the script that I posted.
Another technique that I use for larger systems is to design entities. An entity is something that is different if it is copied and everything else about it is the same. Then, I design a flowchart for the entities to run. ChatGPT can even generate flowcharts from entities, and derive entities from flowcharts.
