Because it was trained to know?

It wasn't trained to know, it figured it out on its own. That's what's so weird about it.

No it didn't you fricking moron. They trained it specifically to predict race.

Read the actual paper instead of stupid pop-sci garbage journalism.

You didn't even answer the question, why are you calling them a fricking moron? Just say we don't know how to figure out why it knows it

Do you know how "AI" works?
You have an image and it's label eg: white or Asian or black etc
You train the "AI" based on those labels, then it predicts. What's so surprising?
          >AI used for X did Y
lol, doesn't work that way. By that logic tensorflow used by some to classify images, can also do predictive text, generating music etc.

Fricking AI dreaming zoomers. Frick off. Shove AI up your gay fricking fortnite ass, you stinking dip shit.

Go program an AI to wipe you off the planet for good, be the best thing you do.

Keep moving the goalpost, your cope against AI is delicious.

          >The combination of reported disparities and the findings of this study suggest that the strong capacity of models to recognise race in medical images could lead to patient harm.
I don't understand how this could be harmful

AI doesn't figure out anything on it's own, it takes a base set of data and establishes results within the confines of the data and the rules you have established

Show it a bunch of black skeletons it eventually will figure out black skeletal features that would take humans years to find out.

            Anonymous

The only reason it knows it belongs to a black person is because it has data about black peoples skeletons
If you just gave it a bunch of pictures of bones with no additional information then the only thing it can deduce is that the bones are different
AI is a meme, it's only purpose is to take shit we already know and try to guess different outcomes based on the parameters we give it that we might have missed, although I don't see the usefulness of making it look at bones all day

or more likely bone density and lung capacities (if you can see that on the Xray). Maybe even heart shapes.
I wonder if they could train them to distinguish east vs. west africans (long distance vs sprinters). Then it's not just racist AI, but more of a physical capability predictor. Soon NFL will screen embryos to select the next athletes.

It wasn't trained to know, it figured it out on its own. That's what's so weird about it.

      >This child can tell us if a book is written in French or German
Normal people: the child was trained to read French and German
You: the child was taught to read Serbian, and now he can comprehend all languages. WOW, science

get it now? You dont need any understanding to seperate 2 things.

      >single variables
How are there still morons who don't understand how machine learning works in 2022?

If there is any surface you can draw in bajillion dimensional space to separate the data classes, no matter how arbitrary or nonsensical and reliant on all the input variables in a complex non-linear way, a neural network of sufficient size can find and approximate it.

This is literally machine learning 101. Most of the time you won't be able to explain what it found because the act of "explaining" is dimension reduction and that gets rid of all the pertinent bits.

Fricking homosexuals. have a nice day.

According to scientists this is impossible.
An AI could only do this with skin color because race is only skin color.
Anyone who says otherwise is going against the current scientific consensus.

It's funny seeing race deniers react to that. Now they're saying that those skulls are present in all humans or that people who post the race skull photos are using extreme exampls

Blacks being good at sports already debunks that nonsense, but progressives are too moronic to realize that.

They're not moronic, they're playing a specific model of political function that have very little to do with things being actually true or not and everything to do with compliance.

I bet they'll modify the AI to not detect race via xrays anymore and then they'll do another scan and tell everyone it was just a glitch in the AI's system.

  9. 2 years ago

I think this will disproved just to prove le science isn't racist because x-rays shouldnt be able to be so accurate..45 and 68%? Wtf

It doesn't know anything. It's high probability guessing after "learning" by sorting image hashes into columns designed by people with actual intelligence.

You don't say. Don't tell the public though, people will go to long measures to destroy you
