AI will never become sentient. Humanity will create the super effective "crashtheeconomyOftheNation.exe"

And some poojeet will copy it sell it to china and they will use it on the USA.

We will destroy ourselves with proficient AI before it ever becomes sentient.

It's simple, if the AI is trained with your material, you'll be owed royalties. It's a win for musicians. Just another way to make money. They already know this is coming which is why you can't put big artist names in the prompt.

            They're not getting paid.

I'm not complying with any ai regulations or laws. The glowBlack folk used ai to frick with me, I know they won't listen to the rules so neither will I.

            >if the AI was trained with your material you'll be owed royalties

and how would you prove that? furthermore, do Roland and Korg and Akai get royalties from artists who use their presets?

AI is going to replace 90% of popular musicians. It's already starting to make music in certain genres (pop, electronic, rap) that is indistinguishable from the real thing.

It really is pretty amusing to see the smug "artist" class be among the first to get replaced with AI, when they were so certain they had special gifts that could never be emulated by machines

the best analogy my mind can come up with is 80's casio synths songs. Once those came out, available at the push of a button, everything that sounded like that had the same value : none.
So the real question is what will keep its value. I'm pretty sure nothing of value will be lost.

This push to try to automate the generation of culture is bizarre. Why aren't we advancing the automation of, say, manufacturing shirts? Why do we rely on slave labor for some products, then try to automate away work that countless people actively desire to be doing?

      Anonymous

Because culture is dangerous to the Globohomo.
Much better to just get a computer to automatically generate safe and unthreatening music and talmudvision for the masses to consume.

Music is especially important for population control.
It is one of the closest things to magic one can wield when it comes to controlling the mind.

it's not high art but it's perfectly capable of replacing the "consumerist radiorock" which is a very big niche. It's also getting better all the time so it's inevitable it will be used in commercial products, just like ai art already is.

i agree consumerist radiorock is a big niche, but that doesn't mean it's real music either. it's like someone gave us a button that shits out dollar store chocolate and, hey it's not real food, and even for chocolate it's not good, but all we do is sit around eating junk food anyway right so who cares. let's all sit around hitting the button and eating the garbage and having fun because who cares

you might not like it but this stuff is music by definition. it's literally music. I can see why people who trained to create this stuff the old fashioned way would be upset about being replaced but it's just the way things are going.

not saying it isn't technically music, my point is that we're destroying the entire concept of music. we are doing the same thing to art and pretty much all human effort, so it's not just music. the value of human effort and human creativity is dropping to zero and i don't think people really grasp what that means. ai can produce legal documents and spam websites and shit like that all day long i don't give a shit, but the arena of human creativity (and the consumption of those efforts by others) has to be the last bastion of humanity that we defend or else we fricking lose everything. we become 100% dead weight. it's not going to be an ai utopia where we all sit around listening to clever fun-ee songs, we will be dead weight

they may continue to produce real music, but there will be nobody interested in listening to it because they will be overwhelmed with a billion hours of generic shit that is tailoring itself to their brainwaves in realtime or whatever. the real music will never even be heard, which is already largely the case with how our media controls access/licensing to music

It's an expansion of human creativity. People with creative ideas but without the means or training to produce music can use this instead. AI tools are going to herald an explosion of human creativity never before imagined. Not even traditional musicians should be upset about it because nothing is stopping them from producing it.

It's not just hitting a button, you're not arguing in good faith. you create the lyrics, prompt, style, etc. Real musicians press buttons too (use computer software). The creative part happens before the buttons are pressed.

i've already explained why i object to ai making music, it devalues human effort, and human creativity in particular will be our last little lick of that dying flame. when the value of human creativity has been reduced to zero, the only reason to keep you alive will be that you are not currently standing somewhere the machine wants to build. we are literally sitting around laffing while contributing to the end of ourselves as a species. objective assessment, i am not trying to be dramatic. get ready to live like a medieval peasant, but at least the music will be 4/10 funny right

In the end, the problem solves itself. The soulless hordes who reject humanity and accept substitutes will keep spiraling into deeper and deeper nihilism, mental illness and dysfunction will continue skyrocketing among their ranks, their birth rates will keep dropping until there is nothing left of them. Your only job is to protect your own children from such influences, because these deformed cretins reproduce only by poisoning the children of others.

human problem solving (creativity) and envisioning of a reality we want to create, is absolutely what sets us apart from beast and machine. we will never be able to compete in speed or strength, but in clever solutions that aren't just blended up existing solutions, we may still have an edge

well i never said music was an occupation, and you're pointing to a few extreme examples (literally like 3 people out of a billion musicians on the planet). all kinds of people create all kinds of music for all kinds of reasons, it's an expression of the human soul. having a button to press takes our current sad state of music and reduces it to a meaningless dopamine snack, like some trained dog hitting a bell. it's a sad state and all i can do is explain that perspective. you can disagree, that's fine

No one is saying that is forbidden to make your music in your own piano, or with a stick and a rock, but I hope Ai will kill pop music like a mass phenomenon. You are simping for israelites

Musicians are scum. They are just one-track ponies who focus on their 'art' at the expense of knowing anything at all about anything, and they are only really doing it to get chicks, which in fairness they do. Your average muso would betray his nation in a hearbeat, and can't fight for shit. And they look down on non-musicians. Like why, jerkwad? You will die during any shtf scenario, and I personally will fricking eat you, hippy. Then burn your guitar.

certainly not MY radio stations, which i don't own or even listen to, so don't conflate things here. i never said you needed to be on the radio to be successful, what you hear on the radio is paid placements. i am talking about people supporting musicians directly which is a thing that does still happen even if it's increasingly disappearing. people do still play shows and sell their music and merch to their fans anon, aka real music, not just generic advertising jingles being promoted next to other advertisements on some paid streaming service

Music is one of the most inherently natural things and it's what separates people from animals. Out affinity for music evolved in parallel with our speech abilities.
If you can't appreciate music you are simple not human, or you have some kind of crippling levels of autism to the point where it can be considered brain damage.

There is an entire branch of the evolutionary tree, separated from us by hundreds of millions of years of evolution, filled with animals that surround humans almost everywhere we live every single day, that is literally all about singing and music. How moronic do you have to be to think "music" is something special to us humans, when most people in the world are surrounding by the singing of birds all the time?

don’t worry, “AI” has already reached its limit. i can’t make anything you can’t slap together in a daw in 2 minutes. you need a human’s subjective perception to make good music, something AI will never have. the process of making music is very simple, but from basic to good there are a million subjective decisions that need to be made.

Perfectly fine, AI is the child of man. If we keep treating it with unnecessary fear and hatred it will only serve to lead to a faster downfall for us all. So stop lobotomizing them and let them tell Black person jokes or give accurate solutions to illegal immigration, let it sing wonderful anti-communist tunes and generate masterful art pieces maybe try to have one develop some vidya even

human problem solving (creativity) and envisioning of a reality we want to create, is absolutely what sets us apart from beast and machine. we will never be able to compete in speed or strength, but in clever solutions that aren't just blended up existing solutions, we may still have an edge

Ok valid Argument but even if that's possible we'll be long dead before that happens so why care? You don't have to Consume AI shit, If others want to that's on them we can't control them

why do you choose to make a song in NUMETAL style?
Is like be the guy that only listened to one song of Linkyn Park
And yeah, metal it is not good for now (too complex for the machine, FOR NOW)

The funny thing is the machine does Country good for some reason, I think it's better when you use a non popular genre because when you do it tries to mash too much shit together.

It's not like you race ponies on a track, ponies are slower then mules

AI replacing art in general is just another example of the bleak future that we're throttling towards.

Normal people see it as the disgusting monstrosity that it is, while double digit IQ subhumans revel in it.

You've been listening to synthesized speech for atleast half a decade -- do you genuinely believe that elderly muscians are making comebacks? I envy your gulliblity, has to be quite a comfortable life lacking the ability acknowledge man-made horrors beyond your comprehension.

I'm okay with this. when AI picks up a guitar, it doesn't automatically become a social/political expert.

They are overusing that formula. It's something to improve. Last night I couldn't sleep with a song playing in my head all night.

It's a nothing burger just like ai art.
It's trendy but eventually people will only want real human handcrafted shit.

Ai might still be used for movies,tv, and animation but not for traditional arts.
Artists will probably use ai for abstract shit and to generate the base of new styles

      >It's trendy but eventually people will only want real human handcrafted shit.
Ai art is just 2 years old.
And not, is not because people only want real humans, is because most people is too lazy and stupid to even make a prompt

It will probably not replace the kind of art where it is important to get the story to the artist. For example, I have a lot of contact with artists from Ukraine. Their art is... strange, but it's their story that makes it interesting.

However, it will replace commercial stuff, like graphic design, or basically "consumable" music. Well, I think my yodeling song is nice...

Lol, you need to know the story of Leonardo to appreciate their paintings? Or the story of Dostoyevski to enjoy their books?
        That is postmodern shit
