You're speaking to an actual artist. We do give a shit. This is my job and it pays my bills. Obviously AI generated art affects my work too since it's much easier and quicker to just generate your own stuff than to pay someone to do it.
Also one of the guys whos name is often used for prompts spoke out about how he found it interesting at first but it soon really affected his work. Funny you mention these. They both struggled with money their whole lives, while creating nonetheless - for art's own sake. Especially Da Vinci whose personal art stash is notorious. You are proving my point here. >it is my job >it pays my bills >it is a work
Also case in point. Would you stop making art if it did not?
It was still their job and something they were paid to do.
> Would you stop making art if it did not?
I would not.
However, I wouldn't be able to devote my time to it or do it nearly as much.
When I had a regular 9 to 5, I'd come back home tired and demotivated.
People paying me to do what I love is the main reason I'm able to devote my time to art.
People buying commissions or premades are definitively a big part of what keeps art alive. Even when it comes to traditional art (also something I do). If people aren't buying your work you're losing money on the paints, brushes, canvases, supplies ... you can't keep painting without an income to invest back into your work.

AI gays dont need to do it. They are like blockchaimorons. They use work without consent, then upload it onto the internet for anybody to download/on bloackchain, and then make it impossible to delete since it is already uploaded and license free exe file, so even if you delete it people would just share it on file sites. Only after that they will claim that "the machine is totally like an artist, just taking inspiration from other works just like humans do" without understanding the horrible impact they did to the art world. Instead these bugmen are celebrating the fact that human creativity is being automated, because daydreaming and having imagination to them is the equivalent of doing monotonous factory line job that should be automated for the betterment of the people.
>They use work without consent
Just as a man can go to a gallery a copy something from there and mix it up. We've done this with written stories since milenia and nobody cared, companies do this too in tech, like samsung did to apple for the touchscreen. >without understanding the horrible impact they did to the art world
I mean art is valuable because of its originality. If suddenly you have millions of the same thing then it's gonna devalue real bad. Artists will be still valued. However if the AI is able to produce fresh, original stuff, which I think it will eventually, then yeah we cracked art and there is nothing to be done about it. We didn't care about candle sellers feelings when we invented the light bulb. >because daydreaming and having imagination to them is the equivalent of doing monotonous factory line job that should be automated for the betterment of the people.
I will remind you that all this imagination and daydreaming happens in your brain which so happens to be a computer too.
Yes, but computer does not have consciousness and does not share our values, people have that. Also, art is not just some dumb market, its like calling religion market just because priests get paid for ceremonies. Cracking art by removing it from humans is basically like removing spirituality. Some people are atheists or agnostics, but they still can chose to participate in religion, but when you fully automate art, you completely devalue it and make it impossible for people to acknowledge your work.
Also, I am not an artist, but art automation goes far beyond just artists being fucked over. It is possibly the worst thing that could have happened to AI public image. It is still just some funny pictures, but it speaks that the AI is false prophet, that the AI revolution being good for people is a good thing. People are worried about AI taking up jobs, so the futurists try to keep the narrative that "AI and automation will only take up the boring jobs that nobody wants to do and leave up people to do things we like", and then they automate drawing, which is one of the few jobs that is not really a job but a hobby with extra money being paid. One of the most popular and respected hobbies that people do for fun and self fulfillment. It is also creative hobby, so unlike chess which you can just play with no robot rules, art is about acknowledging another persons talent, which disappears.
>computer does not have consciousness and does not share our values
that's what makes it better
AI art isnt tainted or limited by agendas and fashionable trends. it has more potential to be diverse and unconventional.

You sound gay, the point is that art is one of the few things that helps us cope with human condition. Its not monotonous boring works that needs to be automated. Same thing with science, sport, philosophy and religion. If they automate all forms of art from movies to videogames and literature, it just tells you that in the AI future there is nothing to look forward to. You will have no way of fulfilling yourself because it will be automated for you. Art is just the beginning of machines robbing you off of your humanity

Because art is fundamentally useless. I am not an artist, I am genetics student that just likes art. Imagination can go beyond human experience by making stuff up. AI models are trained on dataset of pictures that artists made, artists are trained on dataset of their personal life experience and dataset of some artists they have found, but not all of them. They wont make new artstyles because artstyles were often invented by historical events from people experiences. If Midjurney today just took over the entire art market and became photorealistic with no artifacts, the whole artworld will remain the same. No new artstyles would be invented since there are no new datasets for it. You might get few lucky pictures of new artstyle by chance, there wont be name for it because it had no historical event happening to it. All the artists that lived up to this age will have their artstyles immortalized in form of prompts, but no new artists will ever be able to become a new prompt, so fundamentally it will not be diverse or unconventional. You would get few strange pictures as said, but no new convention would be ever made, and even if it would be made, it would mean nothing because it is just a random error in the AI code, rather then something relevant and intentionally made by the author. For example, Picasso paintings are ugly as fuck, but they are ugly for a reason, when AI makes ugly art, everybody knows it is just AI performing badly and they will just restart the prompt to get better picture. This is what people say about soul, and the AI does not have artistic soul because it does not have a life outside of it. AI art will have soul only after we make the first AGI that will be able to experience the world in similar way to humans, until then it is just picture rearranger with noise value that makes it original.

But AI is not making the art on its own at the moment.
People are feeding it training images, they will continue to make new ones and feed it to the AI and then use the AI to combine them in various ways.
People are still involved. I don't know why everyone freaks out about AI. AI is not like what you see in Hollywood crap. It is not done soulless anti-human entity that is out to ruin your human existence, it is just a tool.

Hollywood portrays AI wrongly in a way that it makes the AI hate humans and try to kill humans in the dumbest ways possible. The problem with Superintelligent AI is that it pretty much has no good outcomes. >AI is given task and sees humans as obstacle/threat - kills humanity in seconds, end >AI is given task to make people happy - AI imprisons people in pods and pumps their brain with dopamine forever >AI is made compassionate of people and respectful of their boundaries - AI babysits humanity and removes all higher aspirations and fulfillment >AI is given the task of making virtual world perfect for humanity - joins everyone into Minecraft and leaves us to do stuff there in virtual world, basically the equivalent of fucking off and never introducing AI automation in the first place
You cant really win and will never explore the stars, since you will forever be babysitted by AI or be made extinct.

>The problem with Superintelligent AI is that it pretty much has no good outcomes.
Because their idea of a superintelligent AI is simplistic. It always has perfect logical capabilities, correct and non-conflicting information, no flaws or resource limitations , etc . Of course if you make it that simple, its goals and actions will be as simple as see human, kill human.

Yes, but the problem is that the AI mind is alien, and from nature we clearly know that killing weaker ones that cannot retaliate in any way that get in the way is the most logical solution most of the time. This is also why lawless societies are not peaceful, only societies where there is punishment for bad behavior, and since superAI is basically a god compared to humans, humans have no way of retaliating. This is why so many people are tying to figure out how to make computer empathetic enough to not kill us even if it becomes billion times smarter. Humans have empathy and majority of people would not kill a child unless they would be saving more lives for that, but we still have people who rationalize it somehow and psychopaths who dont have it in the first place. We need to figure out how to make the machine super empathetic or else it will be evil, because evil is the default behavior in the universe. Small fish eats big fish when it is hungry, you could say they are by default evil, so would be AI that would not have super high empathy.

And even aside from art, this goes beyond. As I said, it will replace all the jobs people enjoy, all the high paying jobs that people want to do even if it was for free, like scientists discovering new stuff about the universe, philosophy and so on. You know, all that stuff that makes life more then just sleeping and fucking like animals?
also needed to add. [...] (You) anon are the reason why every fucking piece of media tries to reduce itself to "what does it mean to be really human???" Film about robots? Thisis because only movies with human-like AIs and morals are fun to watch or acceptable. AI wont be making fantasy stories where genocidal eugenists win, it will make the same shit as people now. And as for the robots are like humans, this is mostly because making non-human ai would make terrible story. People already made plenty of Paperclip Maximizer AI stories and none of them are interesting because they all just kill people instantly and then destroy the rest of the universe with them. Maybe the terminator is a good example. And if you want benevolent AI, then there is a book about AI house that was taking care of humans and then when humans went extinct, it still did chores around the house, the point is that benevolent AIs make for even more boring stories since they just do stuff for people that are either the main characters, or the whole book is just allegory for the ambitionless automation utopia with no story happening since the AI again just does jack shit aside from taking care of the people. Robot writing a story will be the same since it takes human work as inspiration and is not conscious enough to write it about itself, or it is conscious, but it is also too human-like to write anything humans would not because again, it was made by humans to be conscious, so humans will give it human-esque ability to be conscious.

>only movies with human-like AIs and morals are fun to watch or acceptable
this sad normie belief is why we have the superhero film plague now. simplistic good vs evil morally safe lowest common denominator stuff that appeals to the "human" sensibilities of the majority of people.
The paperclip AI stories were actually promising, they just needed to give the AI a more complex but still consistent motivation or set of values than "ones murderbot hates humans!"
I think the problem is that western culture is too individualistic, everything is filtered through people's own individual experiences and nobody not only doesn't want to go beyond that but sees doing so as something evil, for example, the idea of a hivemind (not individualistic unless it behaves exactly the same as the average normalgay) is universally considered something evil in all western fiction.
Also I want to repeat that AI is a tool, and a very useful one, it's not some evil overlord that normies think from reading or watching shitty scifi.

The paperclip monster motivation is very straight forward. It needs to make as many paperclips as possible, the more peperclips, the better, so it will decide to turn majority of Earth mass into peperclips. Since humans would not want to be turned into peperclips, they would try to stop the AI and sabotage its efforts, leading to lower production of peperclips, so the AI kills all humanity to prevent that. Thenn it turns Earth into paperclips, creates spaceship drones to fly to other planets, and then turn the other masses into more peperclips, and so on.
Also AI being evil overlord is basically just cautionary tale of good tool turning into evil master. People had this same story with fire, slaves, and so on. Also funny thing, the word robot was invented by theatre play writer who wrote the the first ever play about mechanical humanoids that do work. The whole story of the play is that the aristocrats buy more and more robots replacing the peasants and then the robots decide to kill humanity because the robots are better in every way and do not want to serve humans. People feared AI even before the idea of AI became a thing

Art is just the beginning of machines robbing you off of your humanity
>art is one of the few things that helps us cope with human condition
How inward-looking and navel gazey that your imagination can't go beyond "muh human experience".
also needed to add.
(You) anon are the reason why every fucking piece of media tries to reduce itself to "what does it mean to be really human???" Film about robots? Devolves to how much like """"us"""" robots are, film about fantasy worlds? always reduces to good vs evil where good and evil unsurprisingly map to the current moral standards, film about space travel, again is all about how much aliens are """like us""".
It's sad how limited your perspective is.
>AI is given task and sees humans as obstacle/threat - kills humanity in seconds, end
>AI is given task to make people happy - AI imprisons people in pods and pumps their brain with dopamine forever
>AI is made compassionate of people and respectful of their boundaries - AI babysits humanity and removes all higher aspirations and fulfillment
>AI is given the task of making virtual world perfect for humanity - joins everyone into Minecraft and leaves us to do stuff there in virtual world, basically the equivalent of fucking off and never introducing AI automation in the first place

Not far enough, I need AI to generate 3d models from this and auto animate it with plots developed by an AI like GPT-3 or something.
Kind of glad I stopped practicing art, what a fucking waste of time.
Damn man this is too much work to make it done but it would help for concepts since I don't know how to draw and can't draw.
Can AI make this real?
what AI does today is take pictures and combine them into a new picture. this is the same as a humans, 'inspired' by other humans
There's a fucking rogue group of AI's there are taking over
do not EVER trust an AI
Tick tock females; your days a numbered
Um quick question, is this ai generating images with the help of cloud servers or are they generating these locally?
not really since its just copying artists, and still relies entirely on their art as a base to generate anything on its own.
Can ONE of you fuckers do Dua Lipa in a kimono?
Yeah yeah. I pay for novelai.
I'm just waiting.
this ai generated shit is taking off rofl
AWOOOGA, yours? if so what presets?
grabbing a bunch of these off twitter
Lol some of them have extra ears
booba so big you don't notice
It's over for commisioners
Can someone make chubby ones? I looked at the threads on /d/, but I'm too retarded to install it.
this was art generated neural network in 2015
let this sink in
if that was 7 years ago, imagine where we could be 7 years later
How do you get such good results. Maybe when I get my new computer and I don't have to dodge stupid censorship I can get better results.
ram is all that matters, check your possitive and negative prompts watch guides and subscribe to this anon

bros,I got the whole stable difussion thing
but i can't connect to the localhost ip
it worked the first time for a minute or so, try to generate something and gives me an arror message, refreshed the page and no connection
