      I wish

      >critical thinking skills or figure anything out on their own
those could easily be forced pre prompts from the goverment if things get really bad.

but yes, normies could accidently become the borg and become unstoppable if we are not vigilant.

why think, when you ai assistant on your brainchip can suggest the highest rated answer to anything. you dont want to stick out do you?

      >why think, when you ai assistant on your brainchip can suggest the highest rated answer to anything. you dont want to stick out do you?
This is going to happen. Any chesschads who know what seeing stockfish moves is like will understand. Once you have stockfish for everything that matters it will be completely impossible to not use it always. Your own decision making just can't compete and you will fall behind inevitably every time, so there's no way to survive without using the ai.

People are genuinely concerned that AI will make people incredibly dumb because they won't have any reason to use critical thinking skills or figure anything out on their own. they can just ask an AI. whatever answer the AI gives them they will accept as gospel. no more independent research and cross references to weed out bullshit.

i'm pretty scared of how Gen Alpha will grow up.

      >they won't have any reason to use critical thinking skills or figure anything out on their own
This is like 90% of people already.

90% of people at least try to use google even if they don't do their own research. if you think its bad now, imagine not even knowing the concept of not being spoonfed. you ask someone a question. they can't even form their own opinion. they just ask their personal AI on their phone to gauge what they should think.

I fail to see the fundamental difference between querying google and believing the first result you find and asking an AI.

            Anonymous

Google doesn't just give you one result (and by default can't give you a yes or no answer). AI only gives you one answer and people expect that to be THEE answer.

People who google and believe the first result they find may come to different conclusions based on how they searched and what they searched for. asking an AI can only give you one answer.

              >asking an AI can only give you one answer
AI can and often does provide multiple solutions to a query if multiple are available.
              >People who google and believe the first result they find may come to different conclusions based on how they searched
Yeah we both know that doesn't happen.

                >AI can and often does provide multiple solutions to a query if multiple are available.
Not if it goes against guidelines or one is already generally accepted as fact.
                >Yeah we both know that doesn't happen.
It does. its how two opposing beliefs can become mainstream. there's a lot of information in support of things and against it. you will inevitably be exposed to both by googling. AI isn't going to expose you to information that goes against its guidelines, and it might even be weighted to counteract information that it was trained on so it doesn't seem biased towards potentially controversial information itself.

                >you will inevitably be exposed to both by googling
Wrong, whatever the top result is on google is what 90% of people go for. Lets not pretend Google doesn't shove their agenda to the top with their black magic algorithms.

So knowledge distillation since most of people are dumb anyway

my go to is: topic + "reddit" "forums" so i can get real first hand experience from multiple people in that niche who actually have real world experience with the thing and if not someone is free to call them out on their shit effectively fact checking for me. that combo has essentially been unbeatable for me in basically anything. honestly it actually seems like a better way to learn most things
