Is that screenshot from Google search? What were you searching? I've never seen that trigger warning before.

And yeah, ancient Google was peak search.

Nope. I still can't reproduce the trigger warning. Might it be a phone search thing or only work for logged in google accounts?

DDG just outsources all of its searches to Bing, which is fine for the most part. It might even be better than Google at this point.
I'm surprised MS hasn't tried leaning into this more in their marketing, especially with all the AI shit they're doing now.

What are you schizos even talking about, I have never had anything weird happening with google search. It's eerily accurate and werks for any search. I'm seriously lost on the whole "google search is le bad and uselesss now" beyond the fact that a lot of pajeets are abusing algorithms to push their shitty blog/article sites up when searching for shit but what can you do thats not google's fault i just ignore anything that looks ugly

Are you even old enough to remember what searching with Google used to be like before they started filter censoring everything in sight and de-ranking results they didn't want people seeing? It's well known and easy to demonstrate the creeping corporate dystopia if you're not searching like a 10-year-old fartnite player.

Using youtube's search in current year is so fricking terrible. Searching for a specific video, all the results other than the top few are unrelated (and sponsered) or just straight up unrelated. When did this shit become acceptable?

That's it, this is partly the fault of Google rewarding these poo sites and partly because after centralization all that is left are three big sites and a pile of shit.

Google shouldn't be your moral fricking campus, they provide a search engine.. as a private company that has the option to filter out illegal material, but shouldn't be your moral campus, it happens times and times again and they don't provide you with the content desired for the sake of i don't know who, i don't know of any engines that work efficiently enough to provide me with results nor any that had the room to get advanced enough to work on their own, any ideas?

In the old days, Google was king. It had every future and found every thing.

      >tfw you used to be able to type movie name tpb into google and the first result was the the torrent for the best release
      >you used to be able to google program name serial number and get legit results
      Those were the days

all those boolean functions are now lost, like tears in rain..

these guys remember. As they poisoned their results and reduced their capabilities, I came to rely on multiple search engines. Google. Yandex. Bing. Most piracy-focused engines just pull from results those. If I spoke chink i'd even try Baidu. There are also obscure stuff like www.wiby.me for the nostalgia. It searches the remaining puddles of old web.

Anyways, the web is going back into darkness. Search engines figured out they can show you only what they want you to see, instead of what's there. And with the consolidated positions, bots, and centralized platforms blocking access to content, it's very unlikely any new ones will exist. It's over. I envy the newbies who don't remember how good it was.

I use SearX(NG), currently. I might look more into something like Yacy, but the meta search engine works really well for me, right now. Plus, it gives some privacy since it acts like an automatic proxy without VPN.

Google has gotten way worse but it still has the most pages indexed and still gives the most results. I did a test a few months ago come to think of it. Iirc only startpage is comparable. I used startpage for a while but I missed the Google qol features mostly the speed, but also grouping results, having icons for sites. Didn't know how important it was to be able to visually sort and filter results at a glance because of those 2 things were.
Also that safe search being on by default fricking sucks.

Yandex is probably better if you're in Russia and speak Russian.
