Give it to me straight, has AI killed all opportunity for new coders to do anything?

Give it to me straight, has AI killed all opportunity for new coders to do anything? Was I born too late to get rich from it?

but what if AI starts using AI to code?

AI will make the actual coding process easier but we’ll still need people who understand computers and code at a fundamental level. If anything, AI tools will make the job more enjoyable as it removes all the shitty boring parts (writing code that isn’t novel in any way)

Sure, but over a very long period of time. Some companies may be near fully automated in the future but most won’t be. OP is good for at least another 10 years, and likely well beyond that.

Yeah you missed the boat. It’s not even AI (though that may kill it too), it’s the flood of people like you getting into coding. Everyone in the world decided to do the same job.

i've heard from high IQ guys that innovation usually comes in an S curve. exponential growth and then stagnation until someone discovers some new paradigm or something.

current AI coding capabilities are absolute dogshit. we should expect it to take 10-20 years MINIMUM before AGI (better than all humans at all cognitive tasks). so there is plenty of time for you to learn to code and have an OK job.

Yeah the party is pretty much over but AI is just a small part in it. The easy money is gone and at best you can make an average salary.

If you're a beta cuck who's afraid of AI then yeah you missed the boat, find another career homosexual
If you're an alpha chad who doesn't give a FUCK what some retarded electrons think or do then good news bro, you're right on time, your fortune awaits

The labour market has probably never been so flooded with incompetent shitfucks before, because management and hr types have no clue how competence looks like. It's not AI's fault. But if you can play with AI and use AI maybe that's a way to impress some people. But the industry is just dumb. Maybe look for something more meaningful. Do good shit as a hobby. Maybe you can do something useful while the corporate world kills itself.
