Codemonkeys lurking, will coding be useless for game and web development once LLM's like GPT5 are integrated within respected engines?

>muh prompt engineering autist
I get it. But are we learning useless skills that will be automated away soon anyway?
Why or why not?

    Not even a codemonkey

However, humans being able to solve all of ai's bugs sounds like a fallacy to me.

the issue with ai is its trained on a mix of some good code, and a fricktonne of bad code.

Until we get to a "true" ai that can actually think for itself and isnt just a glorified markov chain this isnt a concern.

    no, moron

knowing syntactical tricks and stuff like that will be useless. architecting while using AI for leaf implementation will be the new coding

AI can't even do basic programming, let alone program a game, this won't happen in the forseeable future

    >Be me
    >Be now
    >Ask ChatGPT to write a script for Unity
    >Doesn't work

    >Be future
    >Ask AI to write a script for Unity
    >It writes it and tests it itself with a built in runtime environment
    >It has already been trained by a million Indian slave boys to generate accurate code to what it's asked for
    >Immediately spits out exactly what I ask it for
Hrrngh anon it's not compiled! You have to learn to code to write it wit better optimization, nooo-
    >Copy-paste code into automatic optimization recompiler

You do realize this will only help indie devs destroy AAA juggernauts right? Who cares if the guy with the idea for a quirky little fun game has to struggle through learning to code or just gets an AI to do it for him?

    As for web development

"Hi ChatGPT can you make me a website with squarespace I'm having a gay wedding and want as much attention as I can get to it. Make it look pretty and animated but sleek and minimalist with a carousel of pictures in the middle, then optimize all the code and make it format itself readably on all devices using responsive web design"

Nothing of value will be lost

tell me your moronic without saying so
      >optimization recompiler
Anon you can't recompile something that wasn't compiled in the first place you utter fricking knuckle dragger

      >You do realize this will only help indie devs destroy AAA juggernauts right?
I've been saying that for months but no one believes me.
It's as if they forgot we never had game engines or even compilers years ago.

Many indies still want to "prove something" by making Pong Reskin #36478264 'by scratch'

Whatever of hot shit opinions and persepctives though, it won't make a difference. AGI is right around the corner, and ASI very soon after.

      I know what's coming.

    no
you still need a lot of fricking brain to tie up all of the shit AI shits up for you to use.
Also if you're really shit as pseudocode(general programming) you will have a hard fricking time.

Pretty much everything will be AI automated in the next 3 years so you're better off just stocking up on resources

    gpt 5 already?
What are they feeding those devs meth?

Yes chat gpt will make programming useless. The people here are in complete denial. It's only thing they know and it's linked to their psyche and self worth.

If go you and look at old posts 2-3 years ago from /ic/ artists comments were exactly the same. It's history repeating itself.

Now with that said it's not the main reason I think programming is not worth it as pursuit.

The main reason is that programming is a field of "increasing opportunity cost" go learn it if u dont know what it means, will save u tons of time and money.
But in short, the reason for it is that learning programming will not get you ahead over time. You will always start over from 0 when new tech comes along which make it constant opportunity cost. However as you get older you lose brain plasticity. It's a fact people who are older learn slower than younger people. You are a worse job prospect. In tech older people are less wanted. which then turns it into increasing opportunity cost.

Whereas lawyer, engineer, accountant, always build on top of their existing knowledge and those fields are low opportunity cost so as time goes they will make more money and do less work. A senior electrical engineer will just sit in office signing something once a day and make x2 your income while u are still coding 8-10 hours a day at 50 (if anybody hires u that is)

Read an article about humanity reaching "biological immortality" by 2028.
Not sure if I even want that but I guess, for people in mid-life crisis, it's something to hope for.
