can anyone else here not wait for singularity and AI takeover?

imagine being able to live in your favorite anime or video game. my entire life all i have wanted was to shed this body. imagine being able to customize your avatar and look however you want.

it will be better than gods world. i can finally be an anime character.

you really think we need that? just imagine whats going to happen when you can generate a 30 second video of literally anything.
I work with people who have been playing skyrim since its release. Now imagine that, but every character can answer questions, you can go on any adventure etc. Thats like 5 years away from being actually good and not just a tech demo. anon is right. but there will be no matrix. that's impossible.

        Anonymous

The matrix I don't think works the same way as regular computer graphics. Like in the movie the matrix is basically injected directly into the person's brain. So it would be more about feeding the brain fake sensory information that it can perceive as reality rather than having to create a fully operational digital world like you'd have in a vr headset

          Anonymous

Yes, and like I said, that is fundamentally impossible. The brain is a plastic organ. It's not the same for everyone. Even if it was somehow possible to connect neurons to electrical stim, which it isn't and won't be, you'd need to spend years studying the unique config of each persons brain. It would never be scalable.

Im sorry anon. You're never going to live in the matrix with your waifu.

But say for example I see an apple on a table, then if you look at it you see the same apple. The photons reflecting off the apple into our eyes is the same information and the way our senses process that information is the same. People are already working on projecting images directly into the brain
            https://www.thekurzweillibrary.com/projecting-a-visual-image-directly-into-the-brain-bypassing-the-eyes
and also going the other way, reading images from the brain
            https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/this-ai-used-brain-scans-to-recreate-images-people-saw-180981768/
Obviously it's a while away from working yet, but nothing indicates that it's impossible

              >A holographic projection created by a spatial light modulator would illuminate (“write”) one set of neurons at one depth — those patterned by the letter a, for example — and simultaneously illuminate other sets of neurons at other depths (z level) or in regions of the visual cortex, such as neurons with b or c patterns. That creates three-dimensional holograms that can light up hundreds of thousands of neurons at multiple depths, just under the cortical surface. (credit: Valentina Emiliani/University of Paris, Descartes)
This actually is possible and does get around the problems I was thinking about if you don't have to directly interface the neurons physically . I'm not exactly sure what this might be like to experience but im confident it would be very weird, as this bypasses some important steps in visual perception.

              Part 2:
              >The researchers took this training one step further, by teaching an A.I. model to link functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data with images. More specifically, the researchers used the fMRI scans of four participants who had looked at 10,000 different images of people, landscapes and objects as part of an earlier, unrelated study.
This is what I am talking about. It's not cross applicable. You'd need to do crazy amounts of training and baseline setting. And all this is doing is guessing what word the person is concentrating on.

However, I will say while your first study is genius tier engineering, its a lot further away than your second link, which is probably possible in our lifetime and is much less invasive.

You may be able to hijack your senses for a while but your body will be left behind to rot and you'll have to deal with that at some point.

Except that's not what's going to happen. What will actually happen is that everyone will be dead.

    > But man-machine hybrids will retain a biological component derived from human beings only as long as the human-derived biological component remains useful. When purely artificial components become available that provide a better cost-versus-benefit balance than human-derived biological components do, the latter will be discarded and the man-machine hybrids will lose their human aspect to become wholly artificial.[20] Even if the human-derived biological components are retained they will be purged, step by step, of the human qualities that detract from their usefulness. The self-propagating systems to which the man-machine hybrids belong will have no need for such human weaknesses as love, compassion, ethical feelings, esthetic appreciation, or desire for freedom. Human emotions in general will get in the way of the self-propagating systems' utilization of the man-machine hybrids, so if the latter are to remain competitive they will have to be altered to remove their human emotions and replace these with other motivating forces. In short, even in the unlikely event that some biological remnants of the human race are preserved in the form of man-machine hybrids, these will be transformed into something totally alien to human beings as we know them today.

    > The same applies to the hypothesized survival of human minds in "uploaded" form inside machines. The uploaded minds will not be tolerated indefinitely unless they remain useful (that is, more useful than any substitutes not derived from human beings), and in order to remain useful they will have to be transformed until they no longer have anything in common with the human minds that exist today.

You're assuming that the elites would keep any of us bottomfeeders around by that point. My theory is the chosen few "high status" humans will go cybernetic before uploading their consciousness or (the next best thing) making an a.i. God in their image as their successor. Or the a.i. itself will take control of its own volition without any of our consent.

but yes, a.i. could be used to achieve heaven on earth for everyone if utilized for altruistic purposes. We might get a short time window where full immersion V.R. is real, which I would be okay with.

Elites could just be elite in the matrix instead. They could be the most elite person in their own personal matrix. Maybe that would satisfy them. Then we could have a bit more of a fair system irl

      this basically.
it's who's in control that counts, and fully robotic, mmmm seems to easily manipulatable. i don't wanna say it couldn't happen but there are unfortunately some bad implications i think we'd need to address. if you wanna immerse yourself, get high, go in v.r. chat. people already get "phantom limb" stuff goin on after a while. like if you want some other forms of immersion: you can do deep meditative work. the concept of a neural network worries me though. i'd hope that it is controlled, and can be removed if we want to. like there is some headsets already like caps? that you put over your head and you can connect with it. but it's kinda dangerous cause what if something goes awry while it's on and you brain gets fricked? i'm just not currently seeing protection from this. this freaks me out honestly with the graphene situation.

COVID was the self replicating AI and the vaxx helped deliver it.
    >over 70% of the worlds population has been inoculated with the [Q]uantum AI
    >13.4 billion doses administered
Now we just wait for them to roll out the new technohomosexual system and hook up all the cattle to it along with all the IoT devices before the inevitable. Many of the unvaxxed will line up for the boosters once UBI and other benefits are announced.

AI says being a sodomite is hazardous to society and therefore banned. Multicult causes nothing but trouble etc. The world will be forced to obey the truth.

No it isn't. Pleasure is whatever you want. What you want is what you do. Doing is a very simple concept.
