If you can't see the difference between an object for storage and a computer that is out-thinking the smartest humans then you're going to be in denial about AI right up until the moment that it kills you. Every improvement in its capabilities will just move the goal posts about what "real" AI actually is, or why the new automated missile defense system is actually just a fancy wargame simulator.
