AI will take over the programming field in the next 3 years max. People severely underestimate the speed at which it's evolving.
You'll need an interdisciplinary pool of knowledge for both programming and management if you'll want to stay in the field as the most you'll do is oversee AI code and potentially direct it, depending on how advanced it'll become.
