Artists were literally just priced out of existence by AI forever. Thats a pretty big deal.

Artists were literally just priced out of existence by AI forever.

Thats a pretty big deal. An entire class of professions just gone. Why is no one talking about it??

Most artists were overpaid and only produce shit anyways.
True divinely inspired artists are unaffected.

Depends what kind of artist. I have a family friend who's a painter and fairly famous in artgay circles, but guys like this can be unique and will probably be fine. But commercial artists and web design are going to be hurt the most.

You buy art to have a piece of the artist. Collecting art just because it "looks pretty" is a plebian mindset.

My friend is a painter, he does really well for himself. He made like 3 grand in two days repainting a few rooms in a mcmansion.
Maybe they should try something else then.

It's a bit shit though, Still have to mask off and edge, drop sheets and only sprays. Still a long way from replacing meat units.

It’s used industrially for now. It’ll get better. Even meat units are being replaced by smaller more efficient, but thoroughly unaesthetic brown meat units.

At least painting a house has real world value. A properly maintained home sells for thousands more.
My guy is a master painter, fricker does not even tape shit off and still uses a spraygun.

It was talked to fricking death as AI was coming out. Turns out, blue collar folks don't give a shit about it happening because it's been happening to them forever. White collar cucks now get to share in reality with everyone else. Cry harder homosexual. Get a real job.

Because it's a toilet-tier career. There's a few good jobs to be had there, but it's ultimately just factory art creation.

    >Artists were literally just priced out of existence by camera forever.
What’s happened is the job artists filled has become vastly cheaper to carry out.
No different from the job of a hundred me farming with a hoe being replaced by ten with horse drawn ploughs, in turn replaced by one man in a tractor.
Innovation is always good in the long run, as innovation is the amplification of labor.

If you don’t understand what that means, amplifying your labor means you can spend less time working for the same payout; i.e more spare time.

Not just artists, but writers. People who want to do create writing will have to compete with AI generated novels that can be created in hours. It will be impossible to make money as a writer, and it was already very hard.

this. in reality it's always the opposite if what everybody assumes. real human made art by somebody able to properly use a paint brush or a pencil will explode in value because art collectors will seek out real human art among the sea of ai slop. especially outsider art will be the new insider art. i might be wrong in the short-term but remember this post in 10 years and you'll see i was right.

Draw me a comic featuring Superman riding a double-seater bicycle with Goku while they discuss the problems with public transport using only AI. Gen all of this off one prompt without touching up anything yourself. If you can do it in less than a day then I'll be worried.

Until then, AI art gen is nice for wallpapers, cooming, and corporate slop, but actual decent art worth looking at will still come from humans.

It's great that these barriers are falling down. I have excellent game ideas but don't have the time and capital to realize them. Computer intelligence will change that.
