Anyone else feel like AI is starting to slow down?

Or am I just crazy? I know companies are just starting to implement it, but that's all stuff they could've done months ago. Maybe it's unreasonable to expect the fervor of november through march to continue indefinitely, idk.

That's what happens when almost all of the AI training software stack is based on javascript and python code.

It's already hit a wall. Transformers aren't going to get us to AI. All they are doing are layering 1000s of linear correlations without any deeper understanding. A human student can do better than their teacher. Transformers cannot.

yeah, they used the hype to get as many investments as soon as possible, they don't know how to advance

there is nowhere to go from here. it is not possible to build an actual artificial intelligence.

    >uhhh bros shit that's been available since January still hasn't revolutionized [x] product field and it's been SIX months!
    >guess it's over, the entire field of research is dead
Is this the literal actual insane level of ADHD zoomers have now?

That's not what I'm saying. Obviously there's gonna be lag time transitioning this into businesses. I'm talking purely about the tech, as in trying to guess where we are on the s-curve, because I think that's pretty important for humanity's next decade or so.
      tl;dr: "where singularity?"

while maybe fundamental developments are slowing, innovative implementations of ai are still emerging almost everyday and its honestly exhausting

They keep nerfing and limiting AI capabilities for the mainstream public. There is probably actual development behind the scenes.

The news just found something else to talk about and redditards found something else to upvote.

Just because something falls out of the news cycle doesnt mean its not around or not advancing.

Nah, AI is going to replace all white collar work (no exceptions) which will lead to people switching to and devaluing blue collar work which will eventually lead to the collapse of our society.
Just two more weeks guys. You better believe it!

not saying that at all. just saying it is beyond us to build a machine that can think.

yes you are right, the invention of the computer has really done wonders for the development of AI

I've played with 30B models in KoboldAI, Vicuna is easily good enough/fast enough for my purposes. Now I need to learn how to tie in the LLM with a timeline, eg calendar or project or a prescripted storyline to get it to do what i need. LLMs are like a raw database, you need query and reporting applications to make it usable. What would be useful is a Microsoft Excel for LLMs.

      explain

vector dbs are the ai dbs. llms are the UI. what did you have in mind?

Vicuna 30B in chatbot mode is really good at providing answers in context, much better than I thought it would be, but you need to give it context as part of your question. An easy example is "what can i do in Paris" vs "what can i do at night in Paris" vs "where can i go to do x at night in Paris". The more context you give it, the more relevant the answer. Like I said, Vicuna is good at that. So I need a way of fine tuning the context generation for these different scenarios eg. a tech project, my daily activities, travel to someplace or a fictional storyline - whatever the end use might be.

No, you are just as moronic as doomers, or pretty much any posters itt
Both of you morons overshoots because you don't have the slightest clue
"AI" just started and if you are not a complete mongoloid you would clearly understand that it's gonna have a fricking huge impact on society
