Nothing can be done against AI, except for the Government to rollout inflation adjusted UBI.

Determining that AI shit is not protected by copyright law would kill AI research instantly.

Do you think China gives a frick about copyright?
This would just make the west fall behind technologically.

But ai output already doesn't have copyright if a human wasn't substantially involved, as per the us copyright office

you are a software developer develop some software/service to sell. You can potentially attract a billion customers there is going to be some kind of grift you can use pay the bills.

There is no software that doesn't exist already. You could still try to build something hoping people gonna notice it but that's just a lottery.

Maybe building a cool indie game is a better option

you don't have to come up with something new giving a new shiny interface to a old tool would be enough as well. Its a gamble yes but better than wasting time on BOT.

I bought a MacbookPro to access xcode and build an iOS App about a decade ago when the app market was a gold mine. Ended up not even starting xcode once and instead wasted all my time on BOT

This is true, Twitter literally started as micro-blog, when there already thousands of blogs around on the internet. Same thing with Tinder, there were already dozens of dating sites before Tinder was a thing,

Tinder invented the gamification of online dating. Twitter forced users to be concise. You need to have at least some original ideas.

Yes, but these ideas come as solutions to specific problems. They weren't original ideas from the start.

This. Creating a SaaS software for small businesses that don't have a good software solution for some specific use case can allow you to live comfortably. You won't get rich but its fairly stable.

I took the entrepreneurpill and this is my plan. Building a few projects and live off their MRR. If I can get 50 or so paying clients, that would be enough to pay for my tendies while doing minimum work from home. That would be the dream job for me.

They will still need senior engineers to oversee the AI implementation and monitor the AI performance as well as maintenance so there is no need to worry if you work in tech and you know your stuff. The only people who should be worried are entry level employees (code monkeys/ interns) and office working paper/pencil/email pushers with "make work" BS jobs.

Souce that "ai" took this b***hes job or any of her colleagues? My bet is that it's the economy taking a dump and everyone just getting the news through social media instead of newspapers

If I wanted ChatGPT to write news for me I'd pay for it directly. Why would I give the NYT $30+ to do that when using it directly costs less than half of that? Same as the company replacing voice actors with voice synthesis for audio books; the cost of the audio book service didn't decrease, people don't have jobs anymore, but I could just get a synthesis service myself and have it read my entire ebook library off the computer, no need for streaming or paying a middleman.

Unlikely, but if the worst comes to worst it takes only four years to get a bachelor's in some other field and around three to get your foot in the door at your first job. Trade school takes around three.
