Depends what you're after. Ubuntu used to be a good gateway distro buy it went globohomo. Its based on Debian, which makes installing stuff easier, and does have more mainstream support. Arch is for eggheads and gentoo is for people who don't actually need a computer.

I already decided I wouldn’t be upgrading again. Games are shit now and windows has gotten worse every gen. To me, xp was still king if they just incorporated the driver sophistication of 7 with a tiny footprint. Everything else is needless bloat. I’ll be switching to a Linux platform next or just give up on computers entirely.

It isn't just copies, they also scrub your locals and turn them into shortcuts for the 'copies'

I used to use Linux openSUSE and Arch were the distros I used, used Tor, and stole my neighbour's wifi, and only put my battery in my prepaid phone that was in someone else's name when I needed to make a phone call. I did it for years too. Maybe almost 5 years.
