kek, good one
remember blockchain hype?
it's lots of fun reading the old gartner hypecycles
2005
Many of them eventually became a part of daily life.
>Linux on desktop for mainstream business users
>2 to 5 years
2025 is the year of the linux desktop, right?
they didn't take redhat into account
2003 was the year of the Linux desktop for me.
I couldn't care less about the rest of the world; actually, I'd rather they didn't keep fricking it up.
No, that was 2011
>podcasting
el em ay oh
>quantum computing in the same spot
jej
what the frick is the Y scale
it's science
hype
what in the Black personfrick is "smart dust"?
nanomachines, son
Remember all the threads how AI is going to replace all programmers? lmao the sweet retail cucks' cope
See, that actually has to happen at this point. We so fricking deep in the layoffs that it'd be suicide for all of the AI hype train executives to reverse course.
the layoffs are not AI, you're falling for their PR talk
but it made a 100LoC program (that's already has 100k implementations available on github), and it only had to be corrected three times by someone who knows actually know programming and could spot an error
it's over!
>the layoffs are not AI, you're falling for their PR talk
I have to give it to them: it's an amazing excuse to cut dead weight, with reduced chance of getting into trouble.
Does she work as "moral support"?
Not with that chest.
*face. Her chest is fine in my eyes. Bag over her head and I would.
dumptruck ass
still would pound it with the power of a thousand suns
>all that eating
why are you guys hating on her shes just showing you the perks, she was probably working in between all those cuts you goofs. lets be real youre just mad your ugly and broke while shes pretty, making good money and is a woman. if a guy was showing all this you would think cool , nice job man, and of course there would be haters as is common on anonymous image boards. but the fact that its a woman youre all seething, seething because you know she makes more than you, and only fricks chad. you hate the fact that your role of provider is diminished especially since your incel ass earns less than her. you hate that by virtue of that job she has priced her pussy out from your tiny limp dick forever hahaha. get fricked chuds
Who let the hole in
there are no women on bot my dude. that's a guy.
>why are you guys
stopped reading there
>she was probably working in between all those cuts
>the work
nice impression of a woman
What are the layoffs then? The only other thing that could make sense is a fricked up balance sheet and being unprofitable... which I guess would allow AI promises to mask poor decision making and keep them in the good favors of investors.
Organizational cruft is anything but rational
ah yes, the ONLY reason there would be layoffs is because of either AI or being unprofitable
tech companies had a boom during covid, both in the real business terms and in the stock market sense, which made them overemploy
most of them are roughly worth about what they were worth back in late 2022
we're in the middle of quantitative tightening with rates higher than they've been in the last 15 years
It's all interest rates.
Low interest rates allow for irrational exuberance (but also innovation).
High interest rates necessitate cost cutting. It also kills off the weak firms.
This is the "creative destruction" of Capitalism.
See
I am still waiting for AI that will take git path to a multi-million LOC code base, Jira ticket number, and produce a correct and tested PR. not in our lifetime, I am afraid.
Remember NFT's and DeFi? What happened there yikes?!
stop coping man let it go
This thread isn't your personal diary
Eh, the graph is mostly accurate assuming she didn't lose her virginity to the poor sod.
Cope and seethe, soon your entire programming skillset and entire existence will be reduced to being "that old Japanese dude on youtube that randomly gets recommended to people who still does thing X by hand" just so people can watch it, go "Oh cool, he still does it himsel??, Soul!!!!" and then immediately move on and forget about you. Cool to watch it for a moment, but nobody really gives a frick or needs you.
Kek, code monkeys absolutely and undoubtedly BTFO once and for all.
>nothing interesting in AI has come out in a year and a half
>BOT is still obsessed with AI, spamming the same products, having the same conversations
never thought this was going to be the thing that killed BOT, but here we are
It's the thing that ejaculated onto this shithole's ashes.
>nothing interesting in AI has come out in a year and a half
Lies
AI has been getting more and more advanced with each month, and we can clearly see its effects on the job markets.
Just saying things that are not true wont make them true moron
get out of this board, nocoder
you're the cancer that's killing BOT
>if I ignore it maybe it'll go away!!! just go away!!!
the cope went from being funny to sad
nocoder
>we can clearly see its effects on the job markets
You're the one saying things that are not true moron.
https://www.thewrap.com/study-finds-chatgpt-drives-down-freelance-work-pay/
first they came for the freelancers, and i didn't speak out, because i wasn't a freelancer
gm sir!!
>point out flaw in ai generated thing
>it will be fixed in a year bro just trust the science bro
This type of person is just moronic. Especially if they don't do any actual work or have any deep understanding of machine learning, but they just expect some ML researcher somewhere will bequeath them magical new tech every few months, forever.
ah yes just like it was never going to be able to draw good looking hands and feet amirite?
Kind of, yes. People with poor ability to recognize patterns see gen AI overcome one hurdle and have complete blind faith that it will somehow make it over every hurdle, even though that's not always what happens in science and technology. AI has been especially susceptible to periods of extreme hype and optimism followed by long periods of disappointment. Look up "AI winter". People in the 1960s literally thought we'd have human-level intelligence in walking talking androids by the 1980s.
It's a lot easier to convince a man he's talking to a smart computer than it is to actually build a smart computer. And we have already reached that point.
Whether or not AI ever reaches "human-level intelligence" however it's defined, is irrelevant because it doesn't need to.
>And we have already reached that point.
Maybe for stupid people. People who are experts (or even mid-level) in their fields can tell ChatGPT isn't very helpful.
>Maybe for stupid people. People who are experts (or even mid-level) in their fields can tell ChatGPT isn't very helpful.
Oh, in that case it's fricking nothing, because as we all know stupid people are rare and have no power, so influencing them has no serious consequences.
>they just expect some ML researcher somewhere will bequeath them magical new tech every few months, forever.
That's basically how people have come to expect everything computer-related to work. Moore's law required constant invention of new technology, but overall progress was remarkably steady for decades.
There's no guarantee that AI will be like that, but there isn't any guarantee it won't either. I remain fearful / hopeful.
Even if no fundamental new capabilities are discovered, what we've got now looks pretty transformative. We just need good UI and almost everyone will be able to create art and music as good as professional studios a decade or two ago. Fast, cheap, high-quality translation coupled with personalised training and smart-tool 'assistants' drastically transforms many work environments. It's now actually realistic to expect good results from Indian tech-workers. Entertainment is going to be radically changed by personalised content. None of that requires new technology, just implementation of what we've already got. The demand and the finance is already there, so I consider that level of stuff to be basically guaranteed and soon.
why does the x-axis start from two days ago and the y-axis from -0.something?
This is the same joke he did about "fastest growing religion".
>"Computer, make me am operating system compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux, only better and faster. Needs to make me billions."
>*blip* *blip*
>does not compile
>"Computer! Make it work!"
>*blip* *blip*
>does not work
>"Computer!!!"
>*blip* *blip*
>"REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
>be xkcd
>BLM supporter
>cuck
cuck? Proof?
AI is going to be able to predict anythings, and will eventual prove or disprove determinism.
all women are like this. also this is an incel thread now.

Now show the correlation between the number of a woman's sexual partners and her chances of having a successful marriage.
>This time its the same fallacy
>It's not a fallacy
>He doesn't realize that number of husbands is exponential
Bro it's gonna GROW like FWOOOOOM
