You will be a slave to them no matter what unless you reject the technological system completely.

impossible. Having an edge in technological progress grants a nation competing capability against its contemporaries. Reject technology completely and you'll lose to your adversaries just by them being more advanced than you. Any nation would fall if it were to "ABANDON TECHNOLOGY!!!11!1!"

We're all going down, including you. How does living in nature away from technology make any sense if tomorrow a logging company can uproot everything you've ever done? Also why hate technology? There's good and bad technology.

MS claims it’s stored only on your local drive and is encrypted. That may be how it starts out, but MS also wants to move to a thin client model, where most of your computing is done in the cloud and your home computer is more or less just a browser. They’d essentially own you.

It is a security risk and a privacy risk and it’s only going to get worse.

Everything you do on a Windows PC is logged and mostly shared with Microsoft anyway. The AI will probably just be digesting the regular logs that Windows creates and presenting the info on request.

At some point years ago world of Warcraft made it so that you had to give them your phone number for 2factor authentication or else you couldn't post groups in lfg (looking for group) with custom names.
It was actually such a culture shock to see people unironically supporting the decision on the forums with arguments like 'don't you have a phone?' And 'it improves security who cares' (despite always having the option to use 2fa so anyone who wanted such 'security' could have it). I know they weren't paid shills because blizzard can't even afford proper community managers so they dgaf about their official forums.
Anyways tldr people are much dumber than I thought they were and probably unironically support this.
Basically just anecdotal evidence to support your corporate golem theory

It gives microsoft (and by extension the government and all the data industry) absolutely nothing new about your privacy and access to your files.
All it does is create a MASSIVE vulnerability for all kinds of hostile third parties to exploit. Unbelievable L, will be abandoned very quickly.
