Will they successfully ban AI art? I'm scared, fellow techbros... Posted on December 18, 2022 by Anonymous Will they successfully ban AI art? I'm scared, fellow techbros...
Cats, bags, local models.
No, but the creator of that poll will successfully cash out a nice sum
It's cute just how delusional artpoors really are
that's literally how our government works in 2022, non-profits are actually very for profit, all PACs and lobbyists are raking in 6 figures
artpoors aren't gonna move shit with $187.5k in lobbying spending
The point was a single lobbyist ain't gonna do a thing. He might be able to talk to a Montana governer through a glory hole but that's about it
>He might be able to talk to a Montana governer through a glory hole but that's about it
thanks gay, you got water all over my monitor
A job's a job.
Person who actually works in DC here. Lobbyists aren't superpowered like they used to be, that shit changed massively in the past 15 years. Lobbying is massively regulated and just throwing lobbyists at laws doesn't do shit anymore
Holy shit, what an absolute joke.
Even the NOAI bullshit up on Artstation was more constructive than this.
Of course, none of this matters, everything that can be done by AI will be done by AI, the next decade will see an insane amount of jobs become automated, including 99% of artistic professions.
I have at most 5-8 years left as a professional developer, I'm starting to work on my exit strategy.
>I'm starting to work on my exit strategy.
Please do tell when you've found something, the future just looks horribly boring. If there is an AI takeover it's just going to ruin all jobs, everything will be "prompt engineering"
I hope you like bricklaying, or stop-motion if you are the artistic type.
>I hope you like bricklaying
when people say this they mean it 100% ironically, right? clearly bricklaying and every other physical task is getting automated too, or is that not obvious?
the "it will create new jobs and industries!" cope only works as long as humans have a cutting edge somewhere.
ChatGPT already does that better
it's over, prompt-bros...
oh jesus people are fucking stupid.
i bet most of them voted for biden and think elon is a white supremacist.
Elon is a white supremacist
he's fucking gnomish
gnomish people are white
>gnomish people are white
Feel free to call Elon brown black red yellow etc.
>gnomish people are white
>gnomish people are white
>gnomish people are white
I'm going to need some good evidence of that
he's a gnomish supremacist
based if true
Well, he did call out the garden gnomes with: 'Who do you think *owns* the press? Hello.' leading to him being called an antisemitist by all the usual suspects.
Just wait until they start talking about AI and CP.
There are already safeguards against that, and e-boi and shota are legal in the USA.
They won't because they profit off the real stuff and want it mainstream. That's real ammo against AI that they don't want to give to the people.
just like when they talk about all those people the Epstein list
>go fund a lobbyist for congress and flight and expenses
do artists really?
it's cool, she's not real
I fail to see how this won't further regress IP laws to the point where even drawing fanart is a liability. Why are artcels shooting themselves in the foot like this?
Professionals are doing fine.
The ones selling cat portraits on fiverr aren't.
What will the do with the money? spend it on weed?
"muh stolen art" is a meme
Artists are retarded. They're the radio corporations whining that television is going to ruin them. Instead of adapting or using this new tech, they're bitching and moaning now that they actually have competition for the first time ever. Tough luck, sugar tits: maybe learn to draw better. Do your fucking job.
>we remove the copyrighted items
>trust me bro
they did, SD is open source, but they brought a bunch back for 2.1 because output sucked so bad, Greg is gone though
DAlle2 and Midjourney, the ones who actually charge money didn't give a fuck and their shit is closed source and opaque
>but they brought a bunch back for 2.1
so..."muh stolen art" is not a meme?
models were trained on public data, training wrights are just numbers, no original image data is retained
text 2 img reconstitutes an image based on training weights
every part of the process is legal
art styles can not be copyrighted
but artist had no way of knowing any images they posted online could be used to train models, so they feel ripped off, it's understandable, though it only applies to maybe about a hundred top artists, average artgay isn't good enough to get an aesthetic score high enough
anyone can train images of anything to make custom models, reditors do that to their faces, freidns and families, and controversially, non-consenting artists do refuse when asked
I wouldn't think a lot of artgays even have jobs in the first place
let's by some miracle (and I mean MIRACLE) that they get some sort of legislation in the US.....this is worldwide, there is no stopping it unless everywhere in the world does the same.
i don't support them because doesn't look dragon e-boi
If that bitch weren't in one of the most cancerous decks in Yugioh history I'd have had some sympathy
artpoors aren't qt dragon e-bois though, they look like picrel and act holier than thou
I'm retarded and misread what you wrote. my broader point obviously still stands though.
Do you never go outside? This is the problem with always online gays like you specially rightoid shitheads. Most people are fucking ugly af fat and just generally gross looking.
Seeing mentally ill poor girls with blue hair struggle makes my pp hard
This picture has evoked the most sympathy in my heart for artists since this entire debate began, but unfortunately
is right and most artists seething about this don't look anything like cute sad anime girls.
Of course not. Banning almost anything related to AI would just cede tons of power to countries that refuse to do such idiotic bans. Right now there's a race going on with AI and no country is going to hamper themselves with retarded bans.
>Krita dropped out of AI
>Adobe walks to the bank, laughing. A lot.
dropped out of AI
Yeah I couldn't give a fuck about what other countries are doing. People are mad because their copyright is being scraped and resold for profit by third parties without their consent.
>Yeah I couldn't give a fuck about what other countries are doing.
If China, or any other country, develops AI that significantly outpaces ours they proceed to crush us economically and our quality of life declines dramatically. We're not going to risk impeding development of one of the most important technologies ever created over some art gay bullshit. There's no chance any ban happens.
Why would I care about any of that if I can't afford the basics of life?
Let China take over. I don't have any love for a country that tells me I should be homeless.
Nobody cares about you specifically. The general population and politicians aren't going to sacrifice their quality of life for "artists." Therefore, the ban will never happen. You've been replaced by a computer program and the vast majority of the population is happy about that.
The flaw in your reasoning is that I am part of the general population.
There are millions of artistic types (read: women and liberals) who would want a government response to this.
>There are millions of artistic types (read: women and liberals) who would want a government response to this.
No there aren't.
And they all vote so there needs to be concessions to them beyond
>"LOL U STARVE NOW"
Scientists are part of the general population and they don't get a break, ever. What do you think you are, second coming of da Vinci?
The issue at hand has nothing to do with gatekeeping, elitism or any kind of psued debate about what constitutes real art.
People are mad because job & portfolio sites are being flooded with AIshit which is making them unusable for both artists and clients .
People are mad because their work is being scraped and resold for profit by third parties without permission or payment.
Whether AI is the future or artists are gays is an utterly meaningless distraction until these concerns are addressed.
As an aside, AI evangelists telling working professionals that they deserve poverty has been a poor tactic for generating goodwill towards this technology or the operations attempting to extract massive profit from it's implementation.
"We" have been trying to warn you for decades that AI is dangerous and will disrupt your life. You made fun of us and said we were delusional. Now we're at a stage where it's too late to stop advancing capabilities or proliferation. The best you can do is to start demanding UBI and making sure that the elites will still bother to feed you when there's nothing left you have to contribute to the economy. This is true for artists and everyone else.
I never said ANY of that. I'm not some e-thot celebrity who hates men or Trump voters or whatever the fuck you think. All I do is draw D&D characters and worry about being able to afford tires. Now on top of eveything else I have to worry about fucking tech billionaires using other people's work to create a bot which essentially just exists to copy them. This is fucked. Utterly fucked. It should be obvious that it's fucked. I shouldn't have to justify anything.
time to open an onlyfans bro
salty scribbler detected
>The issue at hand has nothing to do with gatekeeping, elitism or any kind of psued debate about what constitutes real art.
Just insults from hysterical artists calling ai-shit soulless and innately tarsh (most of it is trash, lol)
>People are mad because job & portfolio sites are being flooded with AIshit which is making them unusable for both artists and clients .
For artists yes, not for clients who might find a cheaper alternative.
>People are mad because their work is being scraped and resold for profit by third parties without permission or payment.
Public data, no permission is necessary, take it to court, it's legal now.
Calling it theft is just slander and emotional manipulation.
>Whether AI is the future or artists are gays is an utterly meaningless distraction until these concerns are addressed.
No, ai research will continue.
You have no legal, physical way of stopping this.
You literally can't stop it.
I can't stop it.
Ai is just a vanguard of the technological behemoth that has been running for 200 hundred years with no end until we leave for teh stars or die in servitude for the machine ai overlord.
PROMPTING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL MORALE IMPROVES
>As an aside, AI evangelists telling working professionals that they deserve poverty has been a poor tactic for generating goodwill towards this technology or the operations attempting to extract massive profit from it's implementation.
They lied to you, they always do.
But your goodwill isn't necessary, that was just marketing.
Don't worry ai art is still kinda shitty, you have a few years left, make good use of it.
After that, we'll see you at the unemployment line like rest of us useless humans.
>I can't stop it.
YES YOU CAN. Artists are offering free virgin gf if you stop a.i.
any girl(boy) gf???
People that make money from drawing or painting are less than 0.01% of the population. AI art opens up the doors to a much larger segment of the population.
And yet every girl I have ever known has had a DeviantART profile.
>There aren't enough artists to be in a culture war
>Art is oversaturated and full of posers who deserve to be culled
You can't have it both ways. Few artists are established to the point of mainstream success, but there are MANY who are trying to break into the industry or are just starting out.
AI accelerators are banned from exporting to China.
That isn't related to the ban we're talking about. Obviously bans that hurt other countries are possible.
Banning AI = artifical dumbness
imagine thinking they will stop ai for a bunch of whinging snowflakes
that might work for 1:1 lawsuit against some random gay but good luck going up against the entirety of the tech industry and their army of top-paid lawyers.
it takes more money than that to train 1 single model
it takes more than that just to pay 1 single engineer salary
good luck gathering enough to beat big tech money
Then there's nothing to worry about. More precisely, worrying won't change the fact that corpos always get what they want.
>big corpos taking retarded artpoors for a ride
what else is new
200k is nothing for disney if they really wanted to they would pay it upfront ?
Why, let the suckers pay for it.
Because the hired mastermind would charge more for puppeteering this than that entire thing is aiming to raise.
>Imagine drawing furry porn for living.
lmao, what does it mean being artist nowday?
99% of artpoors make no money. out of the 1% that do, 99% of those are slaves to coomers
The AI art shitstorm has given me a begrudging respect for furgayry, for this exact reason.
Imagine the smug satisfaction of forcing these losers to meticulously cater to your depraved sexual whims.
Are those all human arts?
They look worse than something spit out by a gpu in seconds and custom tailored to whatever the user desires.
it's less soulful that what pops out when you type "big anime booba" in stable diffusion
Just amazing that so many people are just like
>"Yep let’s just accept that the creative jobs are done now”
Like, what the fuck is anyone supposed to do? UBI? Or will people will just overthrow the government?
Normalgay tards will say to become a real wage slave.
learn to code like the laid of "journos"
Coding is next on the chopping block.
>Like, what the fuck is anyone supposed to do?
There's lots of jobs out there. Artists can go work in the coal mines or become janitors etc.
Something something eat cake.
nobody cares about a few thousand gays making goyslop for hollywood or furry coms online
No one cares about... movies and porn?
they want the milk, they don't care about the cow
if ai can make the same slop why would they care
(it can't yet anyway)
Yes, I want automation so I don't have to work and we eventually get UBI. Hard as fuck for me to get and stay on SSDI as is. I'm not contributing to a society that hates me.
If computers, which can calculate numbers in miliseconds, didn't make accountants obsolete to this date, why do retards think it'll make anything more complex obsolete?
It will however make the job market significantly more competitive. Smart artists are already making use of AI and getting familiar, are you?
>You don't need to fear AI if you just run faster on the treadmill it creates
it's fine, we're all in the same boat, you don't deserve special treatment, you only THOUGHT you were special
Someone has to operate the AI. Self-checkouts have people fixing them if the granny can't figure out how to punch in apples.
Also right now it's still flawed and can't do certain things. My friend doubled the speed at which he pumps out commissions by letting AI do some of the heavy lifting and then just touches it up to look like his work.
My work isn't as generic as ai anime-shit.
Sounds like bullshit, bu I can see it
Remember that most people are so tech illiterate they fall prey to indian scammers.
It's really silly to think that "oh it'll run itself" when the average joe will fuck it up.
Your friend has become a client in that instance.
Describing a scene could be it's own skill, but it's fundamentally a different task than drawing.
most raw output from ai looks like ass, it's not com ready, he's becoming his own retoucher and letting the ai be the cameraman, you can say he is the art director rather than the artist... or a photoshop monkey for a robot
if you can't draw this in 40 seconds you don't deserve my money
how useless do you have to be that the first cope that comes to your mind is that you're gonna suddenly start receiving loads of money for doing nothing
The whole point of automation is so that humanity doesn't have to work. Robots will farm and cook and build for us.
UBI (or some similar system) is the end goal.
Yeah, of course.
But how do we make sure that
(1) the AI does what we want
(2) the humans who control the AI do what we want
You can't. It's pretty much over, we may not have a decade to completely collapse and dismantle to current system otherwise the complete control of 99.9% of humanity is permanent.
Your options are suicide and pretending it's fine (you can cling to a hope that it fails somehow, but it's unlikely)
>what we want
you mean the billionaires, right?
it certainly won't be your dumbass
yeah that was the question
the billionaires are the people who control the AI, not us
>UBI (or some similar system) is the end goal.
Or, why not let you all starve to death?
Send you out to die in some bullshit war.
>wage war for the MIC
>people die off as the war continues
>eventually noone to fight, and noone to profit off of
>Use AI to generate free shit
>Give people money to spend to suppliment their jobs
>They spend it on you, and only you
>Charge them (manufacture price + 1)
>Endless profit from consoomers
>eventually noone to fight, and noone to profit off of
If they have control of AI and robots to do labor there's no need for them to worry about profit.
Earth has 8 billion people now.
You can have a healthy diverse stable population with little as a few million chosen few.
Have to fight climate change, you know, a vital issue, I know a quick way so solve a lot of pressing global issue, if you know what I mean...
Those are real possibilities, which is why UBI is the end goal.
There's no reason for the owners of either the AI or the robots to share the spoils with you.
I want smug artpoors to die on the streets out of pure spite for them. they're the same arrogant twats that bragged about how they were immune to automation because they're intellectually superior to laid off truckers and factory workers.
What AI is doing is photobashing.
Human artists have been doing the same thing in the industry for decades.
Anyway, the art itself is more or less irrelevant.
People need to associate art with a brand (such as an artist) to gather interest in it.
Anime or hyper-detailed portraits usually don't get much traction when generated by AIs, even if they look technically very impressive.
The only guy with a brain in this thread. The only artgays that are going to be out of a job due to AI are the ones taking $20 commissions for a generic anime girl.
An AI is not a person. Automated transformation does not remove the original copyright, otherwise decompilers would as well. That the process is similar to a real person is not actually important, because it's still an automated transformation by a computer program.
The reason my post did not contain the word "copyright" is because my post was not about copyright.
Your post is about AI doing superficially similar tasks as a human artist, which is meaningless.
We might be able to argue that the computer program taking art as input and automatically generating art as output is the exact same as an artist some time after general intelligence is reached, until then, it's still a machine transformation and should be treated as such.
>which is meaningless.
It's not meaningless.
The point of my post was to say that humans are perfectly capable of competing with AIs.
>The point of my post was to say that humans are perfectly capable of competing with AIs.
Emphasis on the present tense.
>What AI is doing is photobashing.
Depends what you mean.
If "photobashing" means taking a bunch of existing pictures and overlaying them, then no, that's not how the AI works. It doesn't have access to a database of images it can search to help it generate the output. It's not like a search engine.
thats literally what it does retard
lmao, you are stupid.
So you gays just lie now?
I guess that could work on twatter or somewhere you can nag people to death.
learn what grain is
learn how ai photobashes it to create images
decide to stop being subzero iq retard
sit down dog
photobashing small pieces of pictures is still photobashing
now go back retard
>Bro you see that red pixel in the corner there? That's my pixel! You stole my pixel!
you two are the dumbest blackest gorilla moron retards ive seen on this board
>Op trying to bump his own thread
Bruh, you gonna copyright Red FF0000, lmao?
im stating the obvious. if you knew how ai works youd stop making a retard out of yourself in this thread
and no. i dont draw.
not an op but you are retarded
learn to google ?
There is no photobashing you absolute retard.
learn what photobashing is.
or are you gonna double down on your retardation and claim that you invented that term too ?
The AI model learns to see patterns in noise, photobashing is copy paste existing image data, this does no such thing, which is why you won't find 1:1 copies being generated by Stable Diffusion.
It's no more photo bashing than you looking at something which triggers a memory image of something and then you try to replicate that memory image onto the canvas. It will NOT be anything close to a 1:1 replica.
its photobashing on a pixelized scale you gigaretard
>please think for me
>on a pixelized scale you gigaretard
LEL, are you trying to claim copyright on pixels now ? kekkus maximus
What's next, photobashing on a atom level ? Thanks for the laugh.
im not trying to claim copyright on anything. in fact i dont think copyright should exist at all
its funny to me how you moron retards have absolutely no idea how any of this works
No, you're the one who is either trolling or clueless.
Photobashing pixels, kek.
This is a pattern learning algorithm, it learns concepts from connecting tokens (text) with images. You feed it tons of images that are tagged, and it will start to understand what and eye is, a nose is, what hair is, purely in a 2d image fashion, not any understanding beyond that. Then you start feeding it styles from different artists, and it will recognize say an eye in the image, but see that all images tagged with 'insert artist here' draws the thing called 'eye' in a particular way, and thus it understands 'styles', etc.
Then for randomisation, you add noise, so that it will have to conjure something up from a random pattern, thus creatinhg original works upon pattern knowledge it has gained by examining in the case of stable diffusion, ~2 billion images.
its so obvious you just googled all of those terms lmaooo
youre literally talking about photobashing pixels and youre too retarded to see it and still say its not photobashing pixels
did you even read what you posted or did you just cluelessly copy pasted the answer ? kek
god i love this board you people are so unfathomably retarded its entertaining to see you failing to grasp basic concepts LOL
your trolling has become too weak at this point, you literally have nothing to say
>im too stupid to offer any arguments that means youre trolling me
never change BOT
>no I don't want to share evidence to support my case
okay, that was a pretty good troll. 8/10.
>i wasnt even pretending i actually am mentally handicapped
me on top
>falling for bait this opbviousd
Can you actually give us a concrete example of the AI photobashing something, so that we have a better idea of what the term means to you?
>art'tard wants to teach nerds about ai text to img
stop false flagging dumb artgays, you nerd
i cant believe that you are looking at the fucking picture and still dont get it
how the fuck are you this profoundly mentally retarded ?
He's just lashing out.
He's going to "take the fight" to you nerds,
Bruh, racist much?
What would your twitter chud friends say, SHOCKING!
behold the sensitive soulful artist
you stole those feet
youre such a retarded ESL moron that you failed to comprehend that im not against AI generated images at all.
fact is you have no fucking idea how it works, you didnt even know what grain was lmao
i just like making fun of you because you are actually, and unironically a retarded moron shitskin lmao
Bruh, that's my webm.
It's hilarious, isn't it?
im sure it is
Become someone who has experience with drawing art by hand and also using machine learning algorithms. There's lots of free tutorial videos on youtube for both.
"Experience with drawing art by hand and also using machine learning algorithms" makes you retarded?
What a revelation.
I'm sorry I can't help you. :/
>i can pay a guy to put a picture of my ex-wife's face onto a pornstar's body
>and i can pay a guy to draw a request for me
>the porn industry is going to die, porn stars are going to die hungry in the streets!!!!11
>this message brought to you by pornhub(tm)
They hate competition?
Why do any of these people think they're going to make money off their work?
Oh, look, the same artists that brought modern IP law. I have the perfect solution for them.
all of those jobs still exist you gigaretard
hell even vast majority of farming is still done by hand globally
god youre fucking retarded lmao
the whole "but muh sovl" shit has always been cope by mediocre artists. AI drawn art has way more "sovl" than whatever trash the artpoors of /ic/ can barf out. even the coomer pics of their "sexual art style" general are more sterile and empty-looking than what some coomer can generate with his gayming pc
Not sure this is AI drawn
Why did it draw sonic?
>the paper rule lines
Those don't look AI drawn
>>the paper rule lines
>Those don't look AI drawn
look at how bendy they are
>Why did it draw sonic?
Because that's what they asked it to draw. Did you read the whole thing?
Yes but not because of artists alone. They don't want you to have that much power for free. Save all your stable diffusion shit on an usb stick and put inside a box with a lock and key.
I thought the AI was trained by denoising progressively noisier images, so that when it got to a picture of random noise, it would "denoise" that into an image with help from text context clues. Is my understanding out of date?
>We all do it, that's how human brain works
An AI is not a person so this argument is a non sequitur.
They did not own the material used to train their product. End of.
AI shouldn't be a legal avenue for copyright laundering.
The real uber shit non sequitur is the arbitrary "not a real persum!!!" And then the expectation we should just accept your position following from the AI not being human because (reasons unspecified)
>They did not own the material used to train their product. End of.
Nor they need according to cases that were already settled 20 years ago retard.
>AI shouldn't be a legal avenue for copyright laundering.
Copyright shouldn't be legal
It is even more watertight.
It is adversarial training.
The final AI never got to see ANY pic.
It is fucking magical in a way.
Nobody will care about ai shit until you artgays do something REAL about it.
Are you prepared to go all the way?
Ted K's plan wouldn't work in the modern day, also we are pro-AI here
Artists are being so fucking dumb. It looks like AI is coming for their shit but it's really not. All AI doing is changing piracy, people who paid for art will continue to pay for it as they already have been ignoring the millions of ways to avoid paying.
Nope, every ai image generated is a lost sale.
Literally stealing bread from their mouths.
That's a shame, I accidentally click the generate button a 100 times, I'm basically a murderer now, aren't I?
not unless you..
PAY AN ARTIST!!
I take paypal, btw.
Anon, you don't have to click it each time. Just right click and generate forever.
I genuinely can't tell if this is satire or not.
they mean it
they believe it 😉
I don't mind. AI is horrible for artists right now.
Here's an example from an acquaintance who I talk to who creates porn art.
>Gets offered a job from someone
>Draw this underaged girl from pokemon with big breasts getting raped
>He sends an email to the guy who wants to pay for the art how wrong it is that he wants that and how it's pretty much CP that he wants since the girl was around what... 13?
You know what happens? A week later, that same guy sends a picture drawing of that girl getting raped. Telling how it was free and all he did was put a ton of his drawing and artwork into the learning machine and then generated the art. Then he COMISSIONED ANOTHER ARTIST to tidy up the fucked up spots.
He was furious. He tried to find out what the other artists name was but just got a fuck you message back telling him next time to take the job and not bitch about the content.
Just because she's 16 with huge breasts doesn't make it legal.
16 is legal where I live.
If you ever drew anime girls who weren't 18, you drew CP too, burger, kys.
but she's a cartoon, she's not 16 at all
>refuse to work
>bitch when someone else takes the job
was it Marnie?
He should be furious, at himself. Do the job don't fucking moralize about the content. Fictional characters don't fucking exist so just shut the fuck up and draw.
Anyone ITT still think that there will still be *anything* that humans can do better/cheaper than AI in 20 years?
What about 40?
Do people still think "yeah at some point the AI will just stop being able to improve before it becomes superior to us"
We don't know if the AIs will actually become intelligent. They are currently unknowable black boxes and there is almost no aspect of human consiousness that is understood. Consiousness could be an emergent property of complex systems that AIs can replicate, or it could be something totally alien and immaterial.
conscious experience isn't the same thing as behavioral intelligence
a machine could score a 180 IQ w/o having any conscious experiences. Chess and Go bots don't even know that they're playing a board game.
>walks like a duck
>quacks like a duck
>is warm and soft to the touch
>You shoot it and microchips come flying out
The problems of the future will be if determining if an advanced-enough Markov chain can simulate life enough to be indistinguishable from a living being. Do we have any tell-tale signs?
>bots don't even know that they're playing a board game
neither do you
> *anything* that humans can do better/cheaper than AI
thinking. having a thought. the ability to look at appreciate morning air or a beautiful sunset.
Try telling ChatGPT to expound on the morning air during a beautiful sunset.
Yeah but what about economically?
You can view that sunset inside your UBI pod wearing Zuck's vr gear, payment is automatically deducted, so you won;t even see a bill.
Future is so bright bros, I'm gonna turn down the sun 20%
Wow this AI is pretty nice. Took a picture of my little dude and it spat out this image.
You stole that image.
If they succeed in 'banning' ai art by making it harder for consumers to use I will run stable diffusion on my stockpile of old industry cards and undersell porn commissioners for the rest of my life.
>I'm going to run something that got banned
Ask me how I know you are a tech illiterate snowflake.
>thinks that politicians writing a law against a piece of code causes it to magically vanish from everyone's computer
average modern BOT poster
its hilarious how mindfucked this board is. they are worried about coding being obsolete from ai but also shitting on artists for the same predicament. this is activating my almonds. nobody has even thought about that ai might ruin BOT completely
>le humans unite!
I see we are still at anger.
What a time to be alive!
you guys are just being silly now
Extremely creative. Is there more?
godammit why can't this be a real manga
What makes it not real? It exists.
nah it has to surpass $arbitrary_number_of_pages before my brain perceives it as being a real manga
It's a oneshot.
I guess he wants more.
Be the change you want.
Use SD to make it real, MC can be you this time.
If they were smart, they would be bandwagoning on the Github Copilot lawsuit and not redoing work and wasting money, especially when the organization backing this is a subset of all artists and are run by two people and an advisory board of literally whos.
If it was per say, the International Association of Art, then there would be a lot more credibility and backing behind getting something done.
Will we get UBI out of this?
we get ubi or starve to death
That's the real question...
for an interesting pessimistic take
They can ban it all they want. I'll continue to prompt anime versions of my coworkers in webui and crank out images. Other things will be cranked as well.
learn to weld artgays you can't put this back into the bottle
Lol. Artpoors better not ruin the future of AI.
I completely lost hope in humanity and I think the only way to save up would be for AI to take over. If they spare us and we can do wtv we want, amazing, great. If they kill all of us, well… we probably deserved it anyway.
>with god like power of pure creation, this is what ai-gays make
sentience was a mistake
>he thinks humans are sentient
They can't, and soon I will never have to see another ugly moron in my media ever again.
it's good to steal from artists
take everything they've got
not just their copyrighted works, but their money and physical possessions too
well, are you gonna buy her something to eat too?
what a stingy greedy bastard, and you wonder why everyone hates you """""artist""""" gays
she needs to lose weight, she's happy watching me eat 😉
she doesn't look happy tbh
this is what a happy girl looks like
which name should I use BOT?
Holy shit artists are so utterly incompetent and delusional LMAO. They really think they can do something with 300k?
>Hiring a lobbyist
Holy shit they really have no clue how that shit works lol. This is fucking hilarious and pathetic. Most artists i’ve encountered seems to be completely out of touch with reality and have those grandiose ideas of utopia (communism utopia). They wont succeed at all, they are emotional like small children.
>give money to lobby for stronger IP laws sponsored by Disney at el
>and thus, the women managed to ban algorithms on the internet
>PROTECT HORSES FROM CARS WE NEED TO BOYCOTT CARS SO WE CAN KEEP USING HORSES
BREAK EM BOYS
Do these people ubderstand that AI technology is being developed by trillion dollar powerhouses like Google and Meta? Even the small AI startups are swimming in billions of VC capital. You think your $300k hobby lobbier is going to make a difference?
The guy who is going to keep 100k from the fund sure thinks so 😉
They don't actually care about stopping big corporate AI from taking their jobs, they just want to stop gross nerds from having fun generating titty pics with stable diffusion
The smart ones hide it but it's easy to get the dumber ones to admit that that's all they actually care about
to be fair, nobody can compete with a machine
I can poop these out in 40 seconds, batch ~100 per hour, 24/7 indefinitely, a decent artist will take couple of days
even if a fraction of nerds playing with SD posted their shit online every gallery would be flooded with ai shit
I know you're being ironic to create more flame, but no, they aren't even trying to ban AI technology, they are only asking to remove artists from the current models and some way of protection against future unwanted AI training using their works (which is impossible).
>unwanted AI training
don't ever post anything online
anything google can scrape is public data free to train on
>don't ever post anything online
>unwanted AI training using their works (which is impossible)
That will be useless too, unless they really go way more agressive with those watermarks
twitter ai gays are watermarking ai shit as their's, lmao
Scared of what? How are they going to stop you from local prompting? How are they going to stop it from being hosted in other countries? No one actually cares other than butt hurt "artists"
>Post-modern art is art and is valid. Slay queen. Art is subjective! Art is about emotions and feelings! Art is everything! Yes, the painting of two dots with a red color is art and you're a bigot if you dont think so.
>NOOOOOO INSERTING PROMPTS IS NOT ART! AKSHUALLY ART TAKES A LOT OF EFFORT TO DO. AI ART IS A FRAUD.
I dont think you understand what post-modern means dipshit
Get mogged by Midjourney, gay.
you could've at least googled a definition to prevent further embarassment cringehead.
>appeal to authority
fucking fascist scum
we know it takes less skill than downloading and running stable diffusion
Humanity's secret power.
the banana taped to a wall was great specifically because all the twitter archuds were seething at it 🙂 First banana , and now computer images UwU
Ai art is art.
Transwomen are women.
Deal with it
only trannies are anti-AI art
My point still stands
those were human made trash, still has SOVL
I'm appropriating your art to make mine.
Sorry sweaty 😉
idk about the art part, but he sure saved some money...
Doesn't show the part where it takes the artist months to finish the picture
>months to finish the picture
OMG, FUCK OFF MY CAT DIED JESUS CHRIST
>someone I don't give a shit about agrees with someone I don't give a shit about on something
Both of them are brillant at they what they do but they're out of touch with this one. AI is inevitable and you have to accept it. They're seething because everything they worked for are going to be insulted by AI but thats life. Progress is progress. We will still respect them for what they did even if AI renders them useless. We still marvel at Leonardo Davinci'si inventions even though what he did is now obsolete.
Just because it is inevitable does not mean it is not insult to life. All AI is insult to life, and the thought of making AGI is the biggest insults humans could have ever made to humanity and will be out unironic downfall
>"x" technology is an insult to life
No, just AI. It replaces humans in every way possible. It is the closest people have gone to creating artificial life without fully understanding it, hence why they are always called to be black boxes. Also, you are replacing perhaps the most important part of humanity, the mind. Yeah, we can still do manual labor for a while, but once AI starts doing research in robotics, its the end for manual workers as well. Every human will be replaced because there is nothing humans will do better then AI. If you just removed AI from out future, our future if we wont die from some world catastrophy would colonize the space, people would live like they do now but with more tech and history could continue. With AI history is ending in next 10 or 20 years, and it either results in void paradise where everything is static as AI does everything for us, or it results in human extinction. I know Sci-fi authors are mostly retarded, but there is a reason why in every sci-fi setting the AI development is either stifled at textbots controlling robot bodies, or it is turned into the biggest taboo out there. You cant have society with AI that is actually working, AI is just better then humans at extremely dangerous levels. Like comparing a God to a mortal, bunch of absolute savants that the moment they learn a new thing at the level of humans become better then humans at it. Art is also something most people would agree should not be automated, or at least when you make survey about every jobs and whether or not it should be automated, art would be at the top or near the top along with leadership roles.
I am not artist, but I still root for artists here, because if artists lose this battle completely in every legal way, then it is writing on the wall that humanity is toasted, because gays releasing open source model to fuck over the legal system is great way of making sure that AI will take over everything it happens to be able to do at the moment.
>it either results in void paradise where everything is static as AI does everything for us, or it results in human extinction.
Sounds based. We may live in paradise or they will execute us. If it is the latter, maybe think that we might deserve it.
For thousand of years, humans have suffered for meaningless shit. Hate, wars, plagues, public executions, social and economic hierarchy. I dont give a fuck if we lose our "soul" this is all fucking bullshit. Humans will never be able to be happy. We've destroyed entire species, have fought over the most meaningless and petty shit but somehow people want us to preserve our "soul", lol. Fuck that shit. Give me AI now so we can either have actual great lives or kill us all. I dont see anything wrong with those two options.
>It replaces humans in every way possible.
Fuck you, where my ai sex bot.
>if artists lose this battle
they already did 20 years ago
you are not going to overturn 20 years of google et al data scrapping public data
the best they can hope for is stock photo like royalty deal
that quote is from years ago when AI art was DALL-E uncanny 3d shit at best and he'd be right
>I should be able to draw copyrighted figures without paying any license or royalties
>but I deserve royalties for having the general shape and colour of my scribbles measured
The person who asked del Toro about that Miyazaki's comment and made it sounded like it's made against the modern AI-art is either dumb or dishonest.
It's smarter to just ban the appearance of a photograph on a computer screen, or enforce some shitty compression algorithm so the only thing you can post on the internet ( entire internet ) are gifs and bitmap images corresponding to video game sprites.
If I could I would force a complete ban on digital cameras, scanners and the like, then take it a step further by banning optical discs until all that's left is magnetic tape for audio/video and silver nitrate for photos and video cameras.
>magnetic tape for audio/video and silver nitrate for photos and video cameras.
soul stealing machines ripping off painters!
Photography "fixes light in place", it's taken from nature itself and doesn't require an artist's intellectual property.
It also wasn't that bad for artists, they could still make comic books and the like.
Also the fact is these color matrices are really just obtained from something like taking the average of these pictures, obviously it's more complicated but you could give a monkey a calculator and the exact calculation to make, and a big grid line where he fills each case with a different color, and that monkey could carry out the task and at the end of it have a picture of a girl with big breasts.
How long until AI can make 3D models and their texture maps from react prompts?
This will be the end of all the graphic design industry. Be it advertisements, games or whatever
There are already tools on Blender where you can generate textures on assets with AI.
>There are already tools on Blender where you can generate textures on assets with AI.
If AI can generate 3D models and shit with just text prompts, imagine how easy it would be to make games for literally anyone with basic knowledge
Wow, the future is truly now
Yes. I am gave developer right now (technical artist) but I might switch and do game design at this point and make my own game like an autist. It'll be easier and easier to make your own game by yourself which is a good thing. Solo devs make the best games and you dont have to be politically correct and get cucked by HR Nancy.
>How long until AI can make 3D models and their texture maps
Already exist, still kind of crude: https://captures.lumalabs.ai/imagine
But there are more advanced stuff being developed right now, including stuff which can create good 3d objects from as little as one image.
3d is going to be 90% AI in a couple of years.
Coomer checking in. I've essentially stopped all my rule 34 commission purchases from artists since Stable Diffusion serves my purposes well enough at a much cheaper price point. Yes, I had to learn some prompt engineering but it really doesn't take too long for someone new to pick up.
How do you make SD look good? Most SD art I see still looks too surreal or amateurish. I've had better results with Midjourney for anatomy and how professional it looks.
>trying out different models, sometimes mixing models together
>messing with negative prompts
>adapting prompts from /sdg/ frens
>adapting prompts from various prompt collections, like rom https://rentry.org/54d9o
>getting a good GPU with an optimized setup to improve throughput
sometimes I run random proompt generation overnight to give me a collection of coomer material to look through the following morning. I've discovered at least three new fetishes at random this way.
Idk this is all too time consuming. SD is pretty cool but it takes too much time to find the right spot.
i didn't realise i had to ask permission to observe and learn from others' artwork
or are the rules different for software?
the argument that it's not art unless it was hard to make hold no merit, for one, there are plenty of things called art which are easy to make, even children do it without effort, but we don't shit on them for their low quality scribbles
get better arguments, these people just come off as being butthurt that their work is being automated, there's a word for this, it called being a luddite
>or are the rules different for software?
you can't ask people to compete against machines. it's fundamentally unfair
then don't, market your art as being hand made, plenty of people like that
if you're talking about competitions, then i would tend to agree that the method of creation should be well-defined, just as other kinds of competition have well-defined restrictions to keep everything on the same playing field
So you agree ai art should be banned from online art galleries?
only if the gallery specifically excludes it
i don't think ai art should be banned /in general/, i believe it's a perfectly valid form of art in its own right
>progress is good unless it affects me
People should at least have to mention they used AI to assist them making the product, let the consumer decide then.
