>As an experimental effort to help the anime industry, which has a labor shortage, we used image generation technology for the background images of all three-minute video cuts!

Bonus luddite seething in the comments.
Not unless we want quadruple titties or something showing up on the animations.
They may be able to help with smoothness or upscaling stuff but art in and of itself won't be replaced by AI no matter how hard any one shills it.
Content creators who are interested in using AI generation in their works will have to contend with the ongoing legal debate of whether or not AI-generated content automatically falls into the public domain and thus cannot be owned or copyrighted by any particular entity.
How is that a problem? Artists own their source and can do with that they want. Of course there will be a flood of super original Miyazaki clones, but just like super original Netflix shows, they'll be ignored or actively critized by viewers.
At 0:56 the city completely changes shape, and its design is also nonsensical.
In the case of background art for professional animation, they'd probably use their own assets to train the system.
>At 0:56 the city completely changes shape, and its design is also nonsensical.
That's a time skip.
Only if you tell people its ai
The real question is whether AI will replace coders.
>AI learns how to draw
>npcs: hahaha fucking subhuman artists will need to find another job
>AI learns how to code
>npcs: nooooo you can't do that
replacing tumblrinas and chuds, ai is unfathomably based.
There's hundreds of threads worth of AI art being created by programmers, where's all the AI software being created by artists?
Small people don't create big things
AI will improve the lives of many people just like the internet did and antibiotics. What we will do with it, it will depend on us.
I don't know how to explain how I feel when I see someone else who thinks so fundamentally different about exactly the same thing. AI will cause problems that someone who thinks like this could never conceive.
Background art assistants will be killing themselves, lol.
the youth won old man
It is going to be garbage written by ai, animated by ai, and voiced by ai.
The normies will passively sit in front of their screens get high or drunk and watch it all day.
AI art is created by the creator, it's just another tool to create, it's a lie that it does shit without input and direction from a creative person, the law is wrong, but still fuck copyright and fuck disney
>bg elements are basically bokeh splotches
>foreground elements are 2d sprites and 3d models
it's only based because it's putting artists out of business, personally speaking i will never watch this or otherwise acknowledge it's existence.
bump
hell no AI has lots of trouble with consistency
Regular attempts to use cgi already fails and is dogshit. We don't need to replace animation. Why are AI proponents always looking to replace rather than to create?
It's cheaper and uh
Yeah
AI generated images are not art.
You can find numerous ways to bog yourself down on where the line is, but AI is far beyond it.
No meaning. No intent. Eventually it will become apparent that the scope of AI art is narrower given that it needs to be primed/taught based on human art.
ai drawings looks better than most of real art when you see it for like 1-5 seconds but when you see it for more time it starts looking fake and like goyslop even if it has no flaws, still just good material for imagination
I remember there was once an AI tool allowing to perform an automatic inking of sketches.
I wonder what would artists think of using this tool, considering the fact that the line art is usually the least favorite part of the drawing process for the majority of artists
artist are too busy defending corpo copyright interest because artist are short sight
Animation is done by big corps, not individual artgays.
Screeching inkcels are just delaying the inevitable.
If I can just have it do the inbetween frames for me that would be super. And I mean FBF inbetweening, not Flash tweening.
T. Animator who knows you can't stop the machines
