Why create AI art if you can't share it anywhere?

>some innocent little prompter creates an AI retouched version of someone's original artwork
>they show it to the author in hopes they'll like it
>the author isn't happy about it and reposts the interaction on Twitter
>interaction goes viral and the little ai prompter gets bombared with death threats and deletes their account as a result
They clearly had good intentions and just wanted to show how much they liked his art but it unfortunately backfired. That being said, what's the point of creating AI art if all you're gonna receive is hate outside of places like /sdg/? Why not create your own art?

I don't prompt for others - I prompt for myself. Same with art. I don't see the use in picking up a hobby that causes my fulfilment to be dependent on others' attention.

I generate images with AI and I draw myself.
I share both, my AI images get about 10 times more views and 50 times more likes.

Dunno what you guys are talking about. People like my AI works more. I still don't care, I never did any of these things for attention.
I draw for myself because I like it and I will continue to do so, no matter what others think. How much of a loser do you have to be do decide on your hobbies based on how others will perceive you.

As you can see they are not very good. It's literally my first two ever attempts to draw something for real, not a shitpost in ms paint.
Working on a third one rn.

Well, you're already posting your stuff online. You must want someone to look at it.

More like I want to give back for all the nice arts I got from the internet, if that makes sense. Maybe my own drawings are not there yet, but I think I at least managed to generate some stuff that people did genuinely enjoyed.
I won't deny that getting attention is nice, but my point is that:
            >it's not true that people always prefer human work,
            >AI work can get you very positive reception
            >if you do it primary for yourself(aka it's actual hobby) none of these things should matter to you

Yeah. Out of ~200 images I generated I struggle to find ones that contain whole hand and it has no issues. Although I never had any problems with eyes, so dunno what you are referring to.
But the style is something I can only dream of until I spend hundreds of hours drawing I guess.

It's Moravec's paradox all over again.

Do you realize that this is not something I came up with but the actual topic of this thread? I was referencing attention based understanding of merit from the posts I quoted, not my own. My response is that hobby activities should be primarily something you enjoy doing on your own, and not what other like.
I also didn't stay I don't care about attention, just that it's not the reason I do stuff.

I was talking about my own posts to show my other points, which is that AI is not that disliked nor always less welcome than human made art.
I have no idea what point are you trying to make at this point.

                Anonymous

But you still chose an attention based system of merit to do so. Not only that, a system from a confirmedly corrupt platform that now has an available history of the interference in what it presents as data.
But my point is, that you chose this as support for your point, then said you do not care. And now instead of acknowledging where your mind truly is, you employ subterfuge.
So liar it is, even to yourself.

                >But you still chose an attention based system of merit to do so.

                >what's the point of creating AI art if all you're gonna receive is hate
The second post I quoted said:
                >If you created art yourself you could show it to others
It wasn't my choice, I just replied to them.
Like I've said it twice I am talking against this sort of view. I think people should get into hobbies primarily because they like doing that thing, not what others think of it.

                >confirmedly corrupt platform that now has an available history of the interference in what it presents as data.
I didn't knew about any controversies with pixiv and I don't know how does a that relate to what I said.

                >that you chose this as support for your point, then said you do not care.
You are mixing two of my points.
Point 1) People do not always hate AI art and always prefer human
Proof: my AI work is more popular than digital art and gets very positive reception
Point 2) I draw for myself primarily
Proof: despite my AI works being way more successful I still draw and don't feel any discouraged from it

                >So liar it is, even to yourself.
                Ok?

this tbh. It's impossible to get the picture you want using words, and it will always pick up things from other images and ruin what it did draw. Even for concept art, I can't find a use for it, because my imagination and a quick sketch is just so much more effective than gambling with seeds or how well trained my hypernetwork is.

They clearly had good intentions and just wanted to show how much they liked his art but it unfortunately backfired. That being said, what's the point of creating AI art if all you're gonna receive is hate outside of places like /sdg/? Why not create your own art?

Its very pathetic the way they are acting. I'm making a coom game, which I released for free, and I used ai art because obviously I'm not going to spend money on a artist for something that I'm doing for free and I simply don't have the time to draw all the characters. The amount of hate that's been directed toward me is honestly hilarious. I made it clear the reasons I chose to use ai, because that way I would not have to conform to the whims of a payment processor. But I'm honest being to think that I should delete all the current art, open a patreon so I can use the money to hire an artist, and keep using ai art anyway.
Its really pathetic. They act like children. As if I've personally gone out of my way and harmed them by using a tool.

Why would you tell them that you're using AI art anyway? Make it good enough that they can't tell and never answer any questions that ask you who made it + make it so you have plausible deniability that you're not avoiding this question in particular

I regret saying anything. I was just being upfront about it and the people I talked to at the time didn't have any issues. Up until a few weeks ago it was barely even talked about. Some of the art got criticized but that was it. Now its almost all I hear about.

This is the same shit, but you all treat it like ai art is somehow different. Imagine if a corporation took gpt code and then sold it as a service without adhering to the license..
I really can't believe that a board like g is behind training ai on individual people's work.
But I guess this just shows most people here don't actually make anything, they just want to be able to create coomer images without putting in any work.

is it feasible for an artist to use ai art as a tool? like to help visualize poses or color? i sincerely don't understand, if artists are fine with digital art, stabilizers, brushes, 3d models ect then what makes it so different to use ai? and ontop of that, shouldn't artists enjoy drawing for the process? it shouldn't really matter if an ai can do it better. whatever happened to do things because you liked to do them?

I've been doing tons of dreambooth model training and image generation for people on my facebook for free.
Been generating them great looking paintings for them to print out for cheap and hang. Also for free.
    They love it.
And when artists go screech at them that it's theft, they will ask if they could do something for free.
The artist will screech once more.
    And I shall prompt.
