Why couldn't we create something similar for ChatGPT open source crowd-funded variant?

Surely enough people could pitch in to train a model for $10m or so. Remember that Star Citizen raised half a billion from crowdfunding and this is a way bigger deal, so what is stopping Open Source CrowdFunded ChatGPT?

If it was open source, I am sure companies would use it to fire/replace people.

I highly doubt that this would work in a long run. Most of the open source community consist of broke NEETs , who would rather spend their money to buy yet another waifu pillow , rather than donate to such project. Generally speaking , open source technology has a funding problem, and it is sad that people usually dont care until it is too late.

Are you just ignoring the fact those neets assembled 500 million dollars for space game?

I wish they would gather so much money for Mozilla foundation, so they would not have to be dependend on Google. I also wish that log4j developers would have enough patreons , so they could pay their bills for maintaining a library used by half of the world. I wish that maintainers of faker would not have to sabotage their own tools for the same reason.

I can give you those examples all day and night. But yeah, OSS users are totally not a bunch of pathetic parsytes becasue of that game, that they play.

    AI cannot replace humans.
But it can replace israelites, who don't do physical work, and non physical it's always something uncreative.

Like being an accountant or tax homosexual or mathematician.

    >but look at the beautiful artwork the computer synthesized
yeah, but a human can do that too.
    >yeah but slower
So what, you got terminal cancer or something? You gonna die? You need ten trillion painterly anime waifus?

At some point you'll forget about some of them anyway, unless you actively dedicate your mind to keeping them in mind.

Plus, you can collaborate with artists like you can collab with music.
You'll understand once you are part of a harmonization that vibrates through you.
    >actually since this is a BOT internet thread and you're against my point, that means I actually routinely harmonize with bandmates and it sucks
    yeah that always happens.
If this were about architecture then I opposing you would reveal that you are a highly specialized architect but it sucks and your hackneyed proposition is the way.
    >how did you know I was such an architect, too?
    Just a hunch.

      To put it into perspective.

If Mozart had drawn 100000000 Mona Lisas instead of one, then it would not be as special.

How many Garfield strips can you remember by heart.
How many frames of one anime episode can you actively and accurately remember?

AI is limited greatly by its input. So all the art AI you see is just a better looking version of whatever coomers and artists were drawing for centuries. Ai is not creative, nothing original will stem from AI. People who take AI seriously are people dont understand high school maths, ie women and leftists

And the time for that is now. Once it get monopoly (or duopoly with OpenAI and Google), they will make it their life's purpose to not let something like this exist open source.
If I had this in my pc right now, I would cancel my internet. SD and this will do the trick.
