Why all of a sudden there is a ""AI scare"" going on?

Why all of a sudden there is a ""AI scare"" going on?

Do people know that so called AI is nothing but multiple layers and stages of else, if and elif commands?
Have there ever been complete wipeout of profession?

Can you point me to the "else if" stages in any current model? Have you considered that your whole premise is outdated by 30 years you dumb ass retard?1

Deep learning is just a lot of stacks of if-elif-else you brainlet.

Great, you'll have no issues pointing me to one of those else if then

yes, every neural net is reducible to a decision tree

no, this is not guaranteed to be a tree of reasonable size. depending on the activations used, it's not even guaranteed to be of finite size. a single sigmoid makes it so that not finite number of if-else statements can ever encapsulate the model.

also, the exact same thing applies to your brain, so this whole argument is a non-starter.

people working with art thought they'd be the last ones to be replaced

Depends, I don't see AI replacing singers or actors, not now or in near future.

I think AI art is absolute rubbish. Digital artwork (ie I painted this on my tablet :)) was already next to worthless. Now that any plebian can make whatever they want and its "good enough" people are having a fit because they're not talented enough to make thoughtful work worthy of study.

yeah good artists will not be replaced but talentless hacks will not be able to charge for their garbage

Instead they'll charge for AI generated garbage. It's already happening.

      This.
They told everyone who was losing their jobs to automation over the last 20 years that it was inevitable, that they should skill up and change careers and more recently to 'learn to code'
Now the show is on the other foot and artist are having massive tantrum beucase they thought they'd be irreplaceable, but now they're finding that low-end filler art/contract work is pretty much going to be realm of AI and their out of work.

I should say, artists, "learn to code".

it's all gormless NEETs. they think they're the equivalent of artists that have spent years honing their craft all because they can enter in keywords into a prompt made by people whose intelligence greatly dwarfs their own. they have 0 understanding of what is actually going on and what its strengths/weaknesses are. they're chimps smashing a button and getting a reward. it's literal moron behavior and they know it.

It's mostly just mediocre artists crying because they feel threatened by an algorithm that can't even draw hands and NGOs jumping on the opportunity too because they smell the activism bux from a hundred miles away.

even if this were true, this is kind of like if someone were being stabbed and you said "why are you so scared? don't you know a knife is just a stick made out of melted rocks?"

The artists that survive are going to be the ones that either adapt and bring AI in to their workflow, or the ones that are so good at their craft that AI wont threaten them because the part of their selling point is their ability to create with such expertise (basically the top 1%).
Everyone else is going to get fucked. The bitching you're seeing are the ones who can't/refuse to adapt, and are not good enough to be that 1%

Anon...I honestly don't know what to tell you. Do you honestly think that the modern AI you're seeing is literally just "if else" statements looped and layered.

Because there are many shitlibs who realize that AI doesn't give a fuck about their globohomo Blacklatry and will never be "aligned", the chinese will get their hands on it first, and they can't do shit about it besides coping and seething. So they go full luddite and try to prevent or control it

And then China gets assraped by the AIs because maybe blindly throwing resources at a fucking non-human intelligence is not a good idea.

    this is so stupid
ai usally emulates a analog computer(like our brains) with binary hardware
    a better statment whould be a switch/goto

I don't care and this just seems like yet another tool in the arsenal to make art better. I plan on using AI to generate reference images to follow and textures for 3d artwork.

    >"WOW, YOU AREN'T COMING UP WITH IT YOURSELF? YOU'RE LETTING AI DO THE WORK FOR YOU!"
AI is the same as using an image search for references/textures, except I can be even more specific with my search criteria AND the generated artwork will be unique and not copyrighted. This is awesome!

Wouldn't surprise me if half the "AI scare" articles were written by ChatGPT bots, lmao
