This shit was unheard just a few years ago.

The matrix received an AI upgrade a few weeks ago. It was done deliberately abruptly so that those of us awake enough to notice would realize they're leaving us evidence that we're in a simulation. We'll start seeing more and more of this type of thing, sudden changes to an industry overnight and npcs just accepting it.

You weren't paying attention. There were a lot of slow, steady advances leading up to this, and you midwits wrote off AI as a nothingburger until now.

You're a software engineer, not a "scientist". Every software engineer knows how to do AI, and you don't need to mention some fake credentials to show that the technology was going that direction anyways.

It's time for the "4th industrial revolution" anon. But this AI stuff is half-baked, not ready for another 10+ years, I would bet it was supposed to come around 2030, but with the war disaster and US losing influence they're getting impatient.

This is just the entry level "AI" stuff that was available to glowies back in the early 2000s, that's already worthless to them.

Remember all of that Elsagate stuff from a few years back? That's what their AI was capable of pumping out a few years back.

But you needed a nasa supercomputer to do it. Now every college kid with a RTX 3080 can do AI in realtime. Many smart people working on it = we get mainstream "AI" tech

Well, its hard to do botnets that require such power decentralised. All of the mainstream AI we currently have access to is a college level programs, very early mainstream, we'll see what can happen when Blackrock&co start pumping untold billions in real companies with NDAs and govt contracts iin about 5 years

it's not just writing. every time i call verizon, the first "people" they connect you with are advanced bots. they sound just like real people, it's hard to tell and nearly impossible to prove. after (or if) they can't fix whatever the problem is, the bot will send you to an actual call center with much more limited hours. what's fricked is that even the fake bot line has limited hours because they are so committed to duping people that they don't want anyone finding out. there are also voice modulators tailored to individuals in industries such as healthcare so that a doctor's team can sound like your doctor on the phone when in reality he's taking his day off or dealing with something more important. i only even know that one is 100% true because a family member's doctor called him while he was connected to a live zoom call that included his doctor. his doctor was literally talking live from two sources at once, and ironically enough even heard himself talking on speakerphone (the one on the phone insisted to close zoom because it was causing feedback)

A huge portion of /misc/ are gullible morons that are just empty receptacles for propaganda and bullshit. Notice his smug and self-assured opinion despite overwhelming evidence? Anyone with a modicum of intelligence and pattern recognition can see the difference between AI 6 months ago to now and extrapolate into the future. It’s like when seething artists make fun of AI for fricking up hands not realizing how idiotic and shortsighted they are.
Remember when the three gorges damn was going to collapse or the Golden Gate Bridge was going to collapse or society was going to collapse because random schizos posted about it anonymously? morons on here actually believe these things because they lack critical thinking and aren’t discerning enough to not get brain-poisoned by anonymous shitposters.

If you ask something academic or detailed, the fricking thing will tell you it doesn't know.

Children develop through school answering stupid questions, and as time goes on the questions it can answer are going to get less and less stupid. What happens to academic research and cutting edge science in 50 years when the already demographically collapsing sub-18 portion of the population can use AI instead of learning. Optimistically, AI gets good enough that intelligent prompting replaces all the normal work and AI does for research what computers and calculators did for statistics.
