it's not just writing. every time i call verizon, the first "people" they connect you with are advanced bots. they sound just like real people, it's hard to tell and nearly impossible to prove. after (or if) they can't fix whatever the problem is, the bot will send you to an actual call center with much more limited hours. what's fucked is that even the fake bot line has limited hours because they are so committed to duping people that they don't want anyone finding out. there are also voice modulators tailored to individuals in industries such as healthcare so that a doctor's team can sound like your doctor on the phone when in reality he's taking his day off or dealing with something more important. i only even know that one is 100% true because a family member's doctor called him while he was connected to a live zoom call that included his doctor. his doctor was literally talking live from two sources at once, and ironically enough even heard himself talking on speakerphone (the one on the phone insisted to close zoom because it was causing feedback)
