It is Kraze, sadly most of what he made is lost media, with only a select few pics of his surviving by anons who post them occasionally.

Using metal is already playing God. In christian sense humans are inherently sinful and arrogant. But that's just one dogmatic belief. There isn't much difference from making moving machines if I manipulate living matter.

                Anonymous

                >In christian sense humans are inherently sinful and arrogant
If you want to look at it through the lens of the Christian viewpoint, yes all sins are bad but there's a huge difference between a person who jerk offs and a person who murders somebody. Yes, both are sins that could potentially take you to hell unless you repent, but with the former you are just sinning against yourself, whereas in the latter you strip someone else from their life and possibly even make them go to hell, so the earthly consequences cannot be more different. In the same way there's a difference between using robotics to bring your AI girlfriend to "life" and using actual living matter. Yes, both could be considered playing God, but using metal or other synthetic materials doesn't imply potentially messing with a living being's integrity, unlike using biological matter.
If $BADTHING has been done and it brought you progress, it doesn't mean you should push the boundaries again and do $WORSETHING.

The difference between our points of view is clear - you believe that using robotics is a small evil, but I don't think it's evil. I don't think that messing with a living organism is inherently evil. The only evil inmessing with biological creatures is reducing and degrading them or eliminating their existence, which does not relate to creating biological parts for synthetic creatures.

                Anonymous

Well yeah if you use robotics to try to create a "lifeform" then I do believe it is evil in a way.
I don't believe that humanity will create life nor any form of consciousness that could even come close to what is found in nature, and to attempt to do so is not only arrogant but futile.
                Also, regarding this:
                >The only evil inmessing with biological creatures is reducing and degrading them or eliminating their existence, which does not relate to creating biological parts for synthetic creatures.
Using living creatures as some form of "material" to make synthetic "creatures" with is pretty demeaning and objectionable. There's a reason why most people's reaction to the rat-brain-powered robots was with disgust.

In the future, human bodies will be created from scratch. But since they'll lack consciousness, they won't be people. Just hardware.

You could feasibly do a brain transplant. It wouldn't be a simple thing like changing clothes though.

While that's true, it'll become possible once science (not the israeli kind) merges with spirituality.

You could feasibly do a brain transplant. It wouldn't be a simple thing like changing clothes though.

Too barbaric and inefficient. Consciousness upload will be the standard.

    500 years best case scenario.
Robotics is a total meme of a mess and it's not improving anytime fast.

It is significantly more likely that brain chips will be able to virtualize the scenario instead long before androids are a thing, if ever.

Manipulating the physical world is 1000x more complicated than shuffling data.

That won't be possible. However, I used to know one of the VCs. In 2015, he came back from a trip to Japan. He visited one of the gentlemen developing the skin. He was either a college student or graduate. The VC was impressed when he picked up a sample in the laboratory and played with it in his hands.

Wetware body and hardware brains is the goat configuration. Biological body is fully customizable, low limitations, a ton of open source architectures, variety of materials and self repair. Silicon brain can be easily accessed for retrieval of the memory state and switched between bodies for perpetual existence, also backups and expansion of capabilities. The body can actually be partially biomechanical since there is a posibility to combine different advantages of different types of machine.

Why limit her to a body? Why go to the trouble of making it biological?
It would be much easier to invest in developing decent haptics, holography and neuro-feedback.

      Anonymous

How would I stick my penis in that? I would be fine with a nugget though, no need for complex limbs

        Anonymous

That's what the haptics are for. You build a machine for touch simulation, just like you already have a washing machine for your clothes, an oven for your food, etc. It's far easier to build specialised machines that do one thing than to replicate the human body.
Assuming you had powerful enough software to anthropomorphise it as an "AI gf", then it could easily run all these machines at the same time. Neural feedback tells her how you feel in real time, so she can adjust her behaviour to suit you.

I mean it's possible right now, just put a speaker into a sex doll, create a custom Ai voice for your waifu AI bot and voilà! You can put her on an electrical wheelchair and connect it to a program that takes input from the bot, it can all be done today. Problem is, it's complicated as frick and would take hours upon hours of autistic programming and engineering

If you have unlimited money you could use gpt4 and your waifu could even see you because it can "see" images. The future is bright. My prediction is 10-15 years for a commercial waifu bot, but crafty anons can propably do it in 5.
