When will AI btfo agriculture

Okay, writing essays and drawing waifus are fun and all but let's face it, the true GGs are agriculture, medicine, and housing.
Once these three are completely automated and DECENTRALIZED it's truly game over.
Who's on the case?

Never. Doing that will drive the prices for food, medicine and real estate way down, which would slash the profits significantly, which is bad.

Not necesarily, they can just fire all the workers & make it cheaper for themselves while still selling at the old price. Giving themselves even more profit.

Just my 2 cents, but that kind of play seems way too greedy, even for the standards of nowdays. It's going to take quite a lot more brainwashing to make that kind of business decision acceptible.

more food = more useless eaters

    So, never.
There is too much money involved to let the average person take care of their own medicine, agriculture and etc.

Do you just append (AI) to stupid threads now to get more replies ?
It doesn't take many people to run a field and machines do most of the work as it is. what are you asking here ?

Really, so why the frick is the price of food so high in NA of all places and there are still starvation in other parts of the world.
You tell me what am I asking.

I doubt the price of food is high for NA by any fricking means, but cash crops are a thing. Farmers will plant what gives them money, not necessarily food.

It is high considering the amount of supply vs demand, especially up here in Canada. With NA we are talking about landmass and production capacity ranking in the world top 5 and a population that's literally the same as a single city over in Asia. Yet somehow people break bank on food and grocery prices still rising?
Still shit with medicine and housing.

i always wonder why is it whenever is these hyroponics shit its always lettuce or some other leafy vegetables? Why not show something that the whole world actually eats a lot like rice or wheat? potatoes?

Afaik it's because leaves are easy things to do with hydroponics, rest is difficult or impossible.

Do you want an administrative AI overlord to solve your problems ? because you're talking inflation, government policy and market economics.

If you have an AI module printing food on your own property like it does toys where's the downside.
Everybody gets fed and no centralized authority and hold a stick over food, whether that be the government or some billionaire buying up all the farmlands.

leafy things grow very fast, and with very little needed light.
plus rice, wheat, and potatoes are so absurdly easy to grow by basically just throwing them in a field that it's not worth the more controlled growing environment in exchange for cost.
you can grow some neat stuff really well with hydro; peppers, strawberries, tomatoes, etc. but it's just not very good for that type of crop

Because the system costs papers to run and the amount of papers you can get are higher for other crop types.

You only grow expensive crops hydroponically.

i'm actually thinking of trying it out but the thing that i saw costs around $1900 the one that has those plastic white towers or something that grows egpplants. HAve to buy the setup and the lights plus the seeds and the minerals i think. still thinking about it if its worth it.

You can't decentralize physical matter as long as the state exists you stupid moron. Someone will own "AI grown food" and sell it for profit.

      Absolute brainlet take.
Somebody will, except it will be astronomically cheaper.

Whenever it gets cheaper than third-world labour.
Higher-up the agriculture industries like seed optimization and research into new pesticides (both organic and chemical) already use AI. I don't know why the average western farmer probably already uses AI as it comes with the advance of drones and automated harvesting.
